Ok was able to do the downgrade anyways (needed to time the flashing properly). The Error msg was still there after first gimbal calibration, but after second calibration it was gone! Thanks a lot!

Wow this same error appeared on my Mini 2 today. Unfortunately this method doesn't seem to be available for the Mini 2 just yet. Gimbal works and auto calibrates just fine, very odd.

hello, after a small fall from one meter my mini 2 has gimbal problems. the movements are good and it doesn't give me any errors, but when I turn left the horizon tilts to the left and when I turn to the right it tilts to the right. I have done the calibrations several times but nothing. I've noticed that it always tilts when I'm north to left and when I'm south to right. Do you have any solution. Thanks in advance

You're firmware version is too new... DJI has put a lock in place preventing firmware downgrades. I always recommend to never update firmware unless absolutely necessary. Have your tried the python script method? I have a video on how it do it using a dji spark. But you can use the code for the mini 2 there. It's in the config file.
@@Schmeggma. mmm... And your drone hasn't had a crash? If so check the ginbal moves freely. The vibration board might be damaged. Also have you tried refreshing the firmware using dji assistant for mavic?
@@InfinityDrones I did reflash using drone-hacks. Do you know of a case of this error being removed on a mini2? From what I gather once the error is there, it's there. I purchased the drone used, I don't know if it was there when I got it unfortunately because I have no experience with DJI, only the FPV goggles. If you think replacing the gimbal will fix it, I'll go for it. The dude on eBay who sells gimbals and fixes drones said he doesn't know when I asked him, that makes me feel like it probably wont fix the error because if anyone should know, it's him.
@@Schmeggma. I think that error usually arrives when you change the gimbal... So I don't think replacing it will solve the error. Have you tried the phyton scrip method from my spark video? If you have and your gimbal is working, I would suggest living with the error as I think it's just because it's not matched to the rest of the drone.

I do not know of a mini 2 version. I only know of this mini 1 version. If I find out how to do it on a mini 2 I'll be sure to make a video.. Currently the only way to fix is to send it in.

400012 is usually a hardware issue... You can try this solution... But if it does not work you need to send your drone to a repair center... Sorry man...

Have you tried to calibrate it using phyton script? I have a video for the spark but if you use the code wm231 instead then it will calibrate the mavic air 2.

if the drone is not listed in the Firmwaretools readme file then sadly it is not supported. Sounds to me like you would need to send your drone in so that the software can be reworked so that the new gimbal and drones coreboard can be matches up.

Hey, I crashed my drone from roughly around 10-15 feet height. I am unable to fly the aircraft. I am getting a couple errors 40012, 30007, 30047, 30049, 30050. Although my gimbal rotates properly during start up and it looks correctly positioned. Can you please help how to fix this??
It sounds like you have more damage than you realize. If you're unable to fly... then the gimbal error is the least of your problems. I'd recommend you send the drone to a repair center.
hey quick question i crashed my mini2, there is no damage. however my gimbal will move naturally once booted up. but wont work and wont calibrate. iam getting the 40002 error, im our of the Country ive tried everything no one has any info on how to fix it plz help
Did this for my mini 2 and it still won’t work. Tried different flash files and still the same issue. My son flew the drone into a tree and broke the gimble cable. Gimble was barely hanging on. Had it repaired at a reputable drone repair shop and got it back with this. It still flys just got the two errors. 40011 / 40021.
Anyone know the release number for the mavic air 2 calibration firmware? Note also, The antirollback value of 2 won't allow you to choose older releases of the firmware. Is there a way around that?
this will not.. the firmware is specifically for the mini and not the air 2s - what is the issue you're currently experiencing with your gimbal? Does your gimal work properly and you just have the error message?

@@kaisermig8 There is a flag that the dji software triggers when a part is replaced. Sadly I do not have the file for the Air 2s... As of now I think the only way to remove it with official dji software from a repair center.

If you replaced the gimbal you'll need to calibrate the software so the serial numbers match... You'll need to go to a repair center as they are the only ones with the software...
1. Yes, you're still in CE mode. 2. I see no reason why not, if you flew the drone in the USA it would automatically awitch to the came power output. 3. Yes as per my answer to no 2 😊 4. No it does not. But you can use the Dronehacks android app and license to enable FCC mode on the mini 2. (great results) If you have any other questions, let me know.

Did you buy it from Amazon?? when yes you can let it be repaired for free. or use dji Repair i think it will be free. i don't know but i think there is a 1 Yr warranty. Try Amazon Customer suppport or Dji Care. Dji Support told me to send my unit to dji even tho it was working, just the error, always showed up even tho i didn't crash. Hope i could help.

Use ws160. Also run the script right after you hear the Windows usb chime. The com port is only available for like 5 seconds.

Worth a try. If your gimbal can rotate during startup it does not sound like a hardware issue

Hi there. If the firmware flash does nothing... Then you have a dead camera or ribbon cable and will need to send it in for repair.

I'm not sure what you're asking? If you had a bad crash then you probably damaged the gimbal assembly.. What drone are you using?

This only works with the mini 1 sorry. If i find a way to do it on the Mini 2 I'll defintely make a video about it.
Does this solve the dji mini w gimbal horizon tilt issue?
This just removes the error and run the factor gimbal calibration. If you've had a problem with a crash or physical damage then this won't help sadly

Definitely update or refresh the firmware... Then calibrate the IMU and lastly the Compass.

That error you'll see if the gimbal war replaced. You can ignore the error if the camera works as it should.

@@InfinityDrones I did reflash using drone-hacks. Do you know of a case of this error being removed on a mini2? From what I gather once the error is there, it's there. I purchased the drone used, I don't know if it was there when I got it unfortunately because I have no experience with DJI, only the FPV goggles. If you think replacing the gimbal will fix it, I'll go for it. The dude on eBay who sells gimbals and fixes drones said he doesn't know when I asked him, that makes me feel like it probably wont fix the error because if anyone should know, it's him.
@@Schmeggma. I think that error usually arrives when you change the gimbal... So I don't think replacing it will solve the error. Have you tried the phyton scrip method from my spark video? If you have and your gimbal is working, I would suggest living with the error as I think it's just because it's not matched to the rest of the drone.
I have the error, but my gimbal won't move at all. When I try to calibrate it doesn't load any percent at all

Sorry man... Atm if a firmware downgrade/ refresh does not help you'll need to send it in for a repair... I've not found a solution for this yet...

Hi there, Have you tried to use the python command line method? I have a video on how to fix the skew gimbal on the spark. Use the Code WM160 instead of "SPARK". Let me know if that works for you.

I do not know of a mini 2 version. I only know of this mini 1 version. If I find out how to do it on a mini 2 I'll be sure to make a video.. Currently the only way to fix is to send it in.

Are you following the connection steps for the mini series? You must turn on the drone. Wait for the chime and only then plug in the usb.

400012 is usually a hardware issue... You can try this solution... But if it does not work you need to send your drone to a repair center... Sorry man...

Have you tried to calibrate it using phyton script? I have a video for the spark but if you use the code wm231 instead then it will calibrate the mavic air 2.

@@sebisebiseseb7390 definitely worth a try. At the very least I would try a firmware refresh with dji assistant 2 as well.

if the drone is not listed in the Firmwaretools readme file then sadly it is not supported. Sounds to me like you would need to send your drone in so that the software can be reworked so that the new gimbal and drones coreboard can be matches up.

The mini 3 is not supported yes. The special firmware must be released first.

Hey, I crashed my drone from roughly around 10-15 feet height. I am unable to fly the aircraft. I am getting a couple errors 40012, 30007, 30047, 30049, 30050. Although my gimbal rotates properly during start up and it looks correctly positioned. Can you please help how to fix this??
It sounds like you have more damage than you realize. If you're unable to fly... then the gimbal error is the least of your problems. I'd recommend you send the drone to a repair center.

Did this for my mini 2 and it still won’t work. Tried different flash files and still the same issue. My son flew the drone into a tree and broke the gimble cable. Gimble was barely hanging on. Had it repaired at a reputable drone repair shop and got it back with this. It still flys just got the two errors. 40011 / 40021.
I'm sorry to hear... If you had it repair... Send it back. They are supposed to repair the drone not just patch it up.

what firmware version are you one? Some versions have antirollback firmware on it that prevent you from downgrading.
Anyone know the release number for the mavic air 2 calibration firmware? Note also, The antirollback value of 2 won't allow you to choose older releases of the firmware. Is there a way around that?

this will not.. the firmware is specifically for the mini and not the air 2s - what is the issue you're currently experiencing with your gimbal? Does your gimal work properly and you just have the error message?

@@kaisermig8 There is a flag that the dji software triggers when a part is replaced. Sadly I do not have the file for the Air 2s... As of now I think the only way to remove it with official dji software from a repair center.

If you replaced the gimbal you'll need to calibrate the software so the serial numbers match... You'll need to go to a repair center as they are the only ones with the software...

2. I see no reason why not, if you flew the drone in the USA it would automatically awitch to the came power output.

4. No it does not. But you can use the Dronehacks android app and license to enable FCC mode on the mini 2. (great results)

Did you buy it from Amazon?? when yes you can let it be repaired for free. or use dji Repair i think it will be free. i don't know but i think there is a 1 Yr warranty. Try Amazon Customer suppport or Dji Care. Dji Support told me to send my unit to dji even tho it was working, just the error, always showed up even tho i didn't crash. Hope i could help.
If you upgrade to the latest (1.00.0600) you will not be able to flash any earlier versions of the firmware.

The mini 2 is not supported as far as I know.
I think the mini 2 model code is WM161 - but please note you're doing it at own risk as I've not tested it and cannot confirm if it's working.
