Couldn’t you just do a B minor starting on the 2nd fret of the 1st string, 3rd fret of the 2nd, and 4th fret of the 3rd string? Then you avoid a barre chord altogether, no?

Nice tutorial. I do the b minor full barre chord. But instead of placing my index on the 5th string to 1st string, I place it on 6th string to 1st string. I just avoid 6th string while strumming. Is this an okay method?
The second method is not working for me. My fingers will not bend like that. I'm so frustrated. I've been playing guitar for years and I just cannot get a clean Bm no matter which way I play it. 🥺
Hi. Most other tutorials say play with thumb pointing upwards , behind the neck and pushing against the barre (index) finger. However, you advise to run thumb horizontally along the neck. It works for me. Am I missing something here? If not why is your technique so frowned upon?
Great question! I don’t think there is one right or wrong way, to be honest. I find that I have more strength with most barre chords when I run my thumb horizontally behind the neck, while others might find more strength running their thumb vertically. There probably is a “technically correct” method to this, but my outlook is go with whatever feels and sounds the best to you personally! :)
Haha I know the feeling! 😂 I know it sounds cliche, but just keep practicing with it and using some of the techniques I mentioned in this video. It’s frustrating, but once you’ve got it, YOU’VE GOT IT! ☺️🤙🏽
Haha nooo, the first thing I would suggest is to experiment moving your hand behind the neck in different ways to make your fingers taller off of the fretboard, that should give you some extra reach! If you are still struggling, you may want to go to a local guitar shop and try out some different guitars, you may have a guitar with a particularly thick neck, which can cause problems for people with smaller hands. Hope this helps you out man! ☺️🤙🏽

Mine are short and thick..I detail cars and the fatty part mutes out strings sometimes no matter how high I lift nuckles .
