John Fisher brought this on himself entirely. The A's belong HOME in Oakland! Shame on Rob Manfred and the other owners for signing off on this catastrophe.
Funny enough that’s quite literally where the A’s get their mascot from . Back when they were in philly and beating the shit out of the Yankees there was an owners meeting and the Yankees owner jokingly said “the A’s are the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about” so the A’s owner at the time made the A’s mascot a fucking elephant 😂. I’m not even joking! The ENTIRE A’s brand is a giant middle finger to the Yankees, and then people wonder why mlb hates them so much lol
That's what happens when you inherit The Gap and try to run your MLB franchise with a payroll that restricts you to shopping for Great Value brand players.
Good report…have to wonder if MLB owners are paying attention. They were when Finley was sabotaging the organization in the 1970’s. MLB forced Finley to sell. Fisher is being given every chance, as he was by Oakland, to fix this. He has continued to blunder, at every turn, over at least the past year plus. The reputation of the A’s ownership about their level of competency is now being shared by the owners and MLB in general.
Well, the home opener for the Oakland B’s drew 4000 fans to Raimondi Park in West Oakland. That same night I think the A’s drew about 5000 fans to the Coliseum. I’m seeing a whole lot more enthusiasm here in Oakland for the B’s because the team is focusing on being part of the community. Fisher only cares about baseball as a way to do real estate deals and people here in Oakland are sick and tired of these billionaire games.
I can't see how anyone in the game would want to be involved in business with John Fisher. And frankly, I don't see them ever completing the move to Vegas as a result. I think given Vivek's ego and his apparently good relationship with Fisher, he will get a taste for baseball and end up wanting to keep the franchise in Sacramento. I'm in the East Bay. If that ends up happening, and Fisher is no longer involved, I'd probably attend half a dozen games per season in Sac, compared to twice that many in Oakland in seasons past (not this season, apart from special occasions like the tepid reverse boycott/Fireworks Night). Anyone else doubt they'll make it to Vegas and/or stay in Sac?
Brodie, I'm going to get blunt with you, you deserve to work for a better organization than the A's. Everything that's been going on with them, from the lack of renovations to the Coliseum, to the whole new stadium 🏟/ relocation saga, to the lack of respect and transparency from Ownership, and the lack of activity to keep the A's competitive in Baseball ⚾️. Perhaps it's time for a change for you too.

Not too surprised by this. Let's face it, we can look at the numbers and the behavior and since Fisher took over.... the A's have also stopped trying. They were competitive back in the early 2000's when Moneyball started... but after Fisher took over.. they stopped being very smart like the moneyball references talked about. Here is what I find the most funny... when you look at the lifespan of pro-stadiums just over my lifetime... The multi-purpose stadiums had a much longer life than the 1 sport stadiums that have replaced them have shown... Fulton County stadium outlasted both of the Braves replacements... it lasted for 30 years... 20 for turner field and their current is still counting.. and the Georgia dome for the Falcons was fully replaced in 25... This short shelf life of such expensive arenas has to end soon...
2012-2014 right around a hundred wins a year, 2018-2021 around a hundred wins a year . The organization didn’t stop trying my dude. But anytime they had any success the owner sabotaged them to make them less successful while also raising prices in order to drive down attendance so he could use lack of attendance as an excuse to leave. Get with the fucking program man Jesus fucking Christ

Charlie Finley looks like a Saint compared to Fisher. He was pretty cheap but far from rich. I wish the Haas family still owned the A's.
So unfair that MLB is just treating the A’s like an elephant in the room…no pun intended

Fisher won't be forced to sell. Impossible! He's of a very powerful ethnic tribe!
@@Runnerdude10000 No noticing allowed, hehe.
@@Runnerdude10000 You really think his ethnicity has anything to do with this and not that he is a spoiled trust fund baby?
Why am I not surprised?

Just an unrelated thought here?
Am I the only to thinks that John Fisher's plan with the Athletics is straight out of the Rachel Phelps' playbook?
With some Jeffrey Loria genetics throw in

Fisher and Kaval own this.
A tragedy that A’s fans and players don’t deserve. At least the Sharks haven’t left me, and I still get to see Brodie!

Fishers ownership has been a utter disaster. Worst owner in sports.
Sacramento- las vegas be prepared for mediocrity
I am surprised Toronto not on the list.
too small of a sample size only 79 to make real judgement
That's roughly 10% of mlb. It's a viable sample.
