I spent years learning, listening and i finally got to see you guys in 1999 in Perth, Australia. Blew my mind and absolutely to this day influence my drumming and one of the best concerts I've ever seen. That was in 1999.....its 2024 now , I'm pushing 46 with health issues so let me just say thankyou for some of the best music of my life , thankyou for getting me through

Again, such well crafted parts. Exactly what the song needs. Nothing more, nothing less. When I first began playing drums (I’m a guitar player) this is the band I played along with. I remember cranking this album when I worked at the wall music store (now fye) and blasting it so loud when we closed on saturday nights that it shook the glasses off the wall at lens crafters next door... Great tune from a great time !

Oh my fucking God I was playing it right the whole time I was just guessing at this now seeing him playing this on this holy shit that is amazing I was playing guessing how he did it. I was just figuring out how to play. This song went by ear.

As a teenager back in the late 90’s I used to come home from school every afternoon, jump on my kit and play along to Secret Samadhi from start to finish. I’ve been drumming for 40 years and Chad has probably influenced my style more than anyone. I’m thrilled to have just discovered this channel. Thanks Chad, you’re a legend 👍👍👍👍

Live got huge coincidentally when I started playing. I tell people I learned "how to play a song" from you. 30 years later I'm glad that was a foundation I chose, and plus I like the music. Obviously I listen now to a ton of players, but its to watch this and think, "yep".

i remember popping this cd in my car in '97 and about 3 sec's into the chorus of this opening track i was like "they nailed it, again!!" this song didn't get a lotta airplay down south.. never understood why cause it rocks.

Your drumming is a key part of Live's sound. You add such an important ingredient to those songs. Rattlesnake is one of my favorite songs from Live. I will never forget when you opened with this song on the Secret Samadhi tour in Montreal. We were lucky to find tickets at the last minute, because we didn't know you guys were in town, and just as we were sitting you were starting Rattlesnake. Probably in the top 3 best concerts I've been to. Can't wait to see you shine on stage again.

I've always loved LIVE and also your style on the drums...sad that you are not together making great music with that inicial spirit as at the beginning...My fav band of all times is R.E.M. and 2nd is LIVE. I hope you gather together to make great tunes again...because life passes and doesn't give the time back.

I always loved this drum track since it has a lot of those gallopy double snare hit patterns (e.g. on 2:33 and 2:45). They feature in many of your songs and for me are part of what make your drums stand out and awesome. I wonder if you'd noticed this yourself, and if it is perhaps a favorite of yours to play as well. Keep on rocking!

secret samadhi for me is an album that takes us into the shadows but doesn't leave us there, unlike darker albums by other bands that leave us in depression . Perfect álbum!

Loving coming across this today. You guys and Pearl Jam are my favourite bands all through my teen years to today and have loved your drumming since MTV Unplugged. Whats the status of the band these days or should I not go there? Seeing Live in Melbourne in a couple of months. Have loved seeing you guys play.

Yes it was recorded at what used to be Think Loud. It's called Studio at 210 now.

Larry is probably my biggest influence. Playing to a track on these vids? No, we recorded these songs without a click and I don’t use a click in these vids. 😁😁
Did you guys ever evolve into playing to a click once the dawn of DAW came along? Your meter has always been insanily consistent. I'm 50 so I grew up playing under the same philosophy at the time. Nail the take, minimum punches., no copy paste available. Lol
One more thing I recall talking to you when you guys played Georgia Tech right b4 Throwing Copper was released. You were so down to earth. My band opened up for you guys. I always kept that in mind myself as I moved up through the ranks.
