he likely hired a lawyer and had them all dismissed. plane tickets are really fucking hard to enforce, and "i think" is not a concrete answer. I have had speeding tickets dismissed before because the officers own GPS showed he never had to speed to catch up to me, and the video showed 100% that I was not doing what he claimed in the report. the report was thrown out as "factually incorrect" so as to no embarrass the officer for lying, and thus, the ticket was dismissed. this guy in the short is probably speeding his balls off.

No it's a good example of why the law should be that if you reach a cretin level over the limit, like say 2X the limit or higher or a certain speed like say 100mph it becomes a misdemeanor with a mandatory 30-90 days of jail time attached and a mandatory 5 year suspension for every license to operate any kind of motor vehicle or even aircraft for the very first offense. And a mandatory 5 years in jail if you drive anyway. A real consequence that someone with that type of car REALLY want's to avoid and that will actually protect to public from such dangerous and reckless driving.

@@1retiredknight The problem isn't the speed, otherwise the German Autobahn wasn't one of the safest roads despite the fact that it's a *_public_* road where speed is unlimited on many many kilometers. The real problem is an absolutely abysmal schooling, overall sloppy examination and a lack of training for people that want driver's licenses.
Revoke licenses for life if someone's busted texting while driving and You will have a lot of the really dangerous participants taken out of traffic. Same goes for eating, taking on phonecalls or fighting with a passenger while driving - driving is an active process that needs well-rested, sober, focussed and collected participants. People who do not drive actively and keen belong into public transport, not behind a steering wheel, or on public roads at all for that matter.
Once we got rid of all those sloppy non-drivers that permanently are ruining the experience, the ridiculous speed-phobia became redundant in the same go.
I stopped to help a DPS officer that had an overheated car on the interstate, while I was looking at the temperature in the instrument cluster I noticed the average speed the car had been driven read over 100mph. But they'll stop you and act like you robbed a bank for going 15mph over.

A Cessna 152’s cruising speed is about 140 mph. To land the plane, it needs to slow down to about 80 mph with flaps down.

This is why I got into off road trucks and away from sports cars. Sports cars are sweet and all, but to actually safely enjoy what you got you really need to go to a track.
With off roading you can just go places and see things and utilize the full capability of the vehicle without being harassed by cops.

@@noone7777777the officer chose to cite him lower at 111 because going over double the speed limit is a greater punishment. Going double requires a court date and comes with reckless driving and several other charges. This guy has a 100% chance of getting his license suspended or revoked regardless of if he's written at 111 or 150+, it's just that the 150+ will probably include jail time. The cop did him a favor, he even explicitly says he's doing him a favor when he said "just be glad I'm writing for you 111". You have every right to think whatever you want, but please don't judge without the proper information as you might end up misleading someone.
He gave him that ticket because going double the speed limit can put him in jail and his car impounded. Also, I don't need a radar to tell you're speeding, if I'm in a fucking plane and can't keep up with you. Lastly, not only can they pace you with vehicles with a dash cam but a plane records everything that they do so it's easy to verify how fast they were going at the time the pursuit started. If he fights that ticket and goes to court, he'll lose the minute the cop decides he'll show up

I mean it technically depends. Depends on the officer pulling you over, the circumstances surrounding your reason for speeding (like were you racing or driving overtly reckless) also local jurisdictions have different laws for speeding as well. Some states it’s automatic criminal charges for 20+ over some it’s just a citation. Some places going double over is still a citation and doesn’t become more than that until you cross the threshold. Some states may issue you a notice to appear misdemeanor charge related to your speed. It certainly depends. But if this guys story is true and the police used all those resources, there’s no way they just gave him a ticket, especially if he was arguing with them about the speed he was going.

In Seattle they did this cop in airplane truck but after 3 or 5 years they come to find out that the cop in plane had to be the one issuing ticket, never heard of it again and that was when I lived there in 1984- 96

In some states if a cop writes you ticket over a certain speeding threshold, it's criminal speeding and a federal crime. Automatic loss of your car, and straight to the crusher. That cop did you a solid and you were trying to argue with him.
Same thing happened to me when I had a Cobra Mustang.... The police wanted to look at it, but they would write me a ticket every time. For stupid shit like excessive acceleration , not speeding but for leaving a stop too fast. Or for not having my blinker on for 50 feet before a turn. Or because the engine made too much noise (even though it was factory exhaust) .
150 mph (~240 kph) actually is not that much, that's pretty often seen by 180hp Station Wagons on the Autobahn over here. Pretty easy to handle. Someone driving that fast is usually just a guy selling screws or software on the way to his next appointment.

My opinion. Punishment for speeding on public roads as part of an event, 2 years no driving license plus police take and destroy your car. Causing an accident, people get hurt or die, will add a minimum of 10 years in prison.
