Was this awesome absolutely! Was I a little disappointed this turned out to be a gym and not a tiny home, yes a little, but this build was definitely nice and very detailed. The hard work you and your wife put into this shows. You didn’t skip corners and you thought out everything. Who knows maybe you guys can move in there and rent out the big house if you choose in the future. Regardless this place is beautiful and you guys did great!

Thank you I completely agree. We plan on adding one in the next few weeks but we really just didn’t have the budget to get one right now.
There is a shortage of dwellings and your city doesn’t allow for a rental on your property… I think that some home regulations are just no longer in touch with the societal need of the communities.. Its all about the needs of developers…
Whats to rent out? It's literally a box with a few outlets. No bathroom, no kitchen or basic amenities at all, not to mention most state won't allow you to rent out a property that has an unlicensed sub/service panel install. It would need to pass inspection and one required determination other than it looking good and done right, is if it was done by a LICENSED professional.

Very nice, however in carpentry class we were told the roof first before the walls.

Awesome build and video!! I'm planning on turning my single car detached garage into a home gym so this was a lot of inspiration.
However, unless I missed it I didn't see how the LEDs looked on the handrail.

@@mightyobserver12 Miss, all I had to do was read the subtitle before even watching the video. Common sense told me that since it said "Tiny Home Gym ", I wasn't expecting anything else lol.
@@mightyobserver12 not even trying to sound rude whatsoever but he actually does mention home gym in the first part. Besides it being in the title, he elaborated later in the video that their intentions were to have the tiny home be a rental but the city wouldn’t allow them to legally so they decided to turn it into a home gym.

Love y’all’s color choices, the wool insulation is really neat, I’ve done blown insulation and regular ol’ fiberglass ; which I’m allergic to 😝; but this I’m definitely going to have to look into! I’ve got enough flooring and breadboard from a deconstruction to do the floor and wainscoting 4’ up the walls then create a plate rail. Thank y’all for so many wonderful ideas 💡 😊!!! So nice including your Son, teach them while they’re young ♥️♥️♥️😊!!! Gonna check out some of your other videos!

Question for you, how did you get power for the whole structure? Did you have to have the power company run wires from the pole line or did you wire it to the house? I want to build a workshop/car garage but I want power to it

I would love to live in a tiny home, but, I am a single female and don’t know the first thing about building, nor would I be able to physically do it. 😂😢 Then there’s the zoning laws and all that, which I know nothing about. Thinking of looking into pre-fab options as well. Just trying to learn a bit more for now. Nice work!

Next time put a vermin barrier to protect the work below. Hardware cloth anchored to prevent chewing of flooring work and a perimeter, set into a deep channel in soil to prevent their housing under, wafting their aroma through the boards. 👏

what city are you located? Do you need a permit to build this? The size is small enough to avoid a permit but you have electrical work so that requires a permit. I am asking because I am building a 10'*12' exercise shed too.
what county or state are you in that didn't allow it to be a rental?

I just have one question and maybe it was said in a previous video, but was the deck not originally a part of the plan? Just doesn't make sense to have stilted the building only to put a deck right off of it that's built with set-in posts, when you could've built the "foundation" of the building as part of that structure right out the gate. Just a thought its a solid build though
I won't lie im jealous. 😂 I have a rooftop patio in my yard that pretty much takes up the entire backyard. I don't have emough space for a tiny home... I really wanted one in my yard. 😭
