      I can still feel the tactility but leg lubed one is definitely smoother than stock one. Tealios switches have been my favorite for over 2 years. No, you should still lube the stem faces and rails. Only skip the (curved) legs, as they produce the tactility. If you dont lube the stem faces, the switch will still be scratchy and you probably wont gain all that much from the whole process...

    People keep telling me TriboSys 3203 is the way to go on tactiles. I've seen others lubing with 3204 (Which I'm going for) and
    even 205g0 as shown here. Is there really that much difference, if lube is applied with care and caution - in thin layers?
    I can't really see why there should be a big difference. Prove me wrong, I'm new to all of this.
    If it's a thick lube, then lube more gently. If it's thin, do so in slightly heavier layers.

    I have Corsair K95 equipped with a Cherry MX Silver. This keyboard after almost 4 years of using has strong spring ping. Sometimes it makes me angry, so I decided to lube few switches with random grease which I found in local home depot. WASD, both shifts, left ctrl, both alt and enter now works but they are mushy like old membrane keyboard. Space bar works but many times not bouncing back up. Just pressed stays there.

    I just took apart my Trash Pandas. What is the best way to clean the housing w/o taking out the leaf? I don't have a ultra sonic cleaner. Do I really need to? I have 3203 and the halo stems (which aren't pre lubed). Can I just take a q tip with some rubbing alcohol and rub around the inside of the housing real quick?

    • @3ildcat
      @3ildcat  4 года назад +1

      I recommend that you don't clean the whole bottom housing without taking the leaf. I've seen some people who did clean them using a ultra sonic cleaner, and their some contact of switches died after few days or weeks. I guess you already know that so you asked like that.
      I didn't clean the any housing and stem. Just relubed with krytox205. As you watched, I lubed even the legs so I didn't need to clean.
      If you don't want to ruin the tactility, I heard that rubbing the legs only with cotton swab or something is enough. I think contact(leaf) shouldn't be affected any other cleaning method.
      Anyway, the pre-lube thing is really bad for people like us. :(

    Is it just impossible to source Krytox 205g0 at the moment due to the pandemic? I've looked everywhere to buy it from anyone, and the best I can find is $20 .5oz tube from Amazon that's actually 205g2 not 205g0. I'm so confused, is always like this?

    does lubing the legs of tactile switches turned it closer into a linear feel?

    • @eliarmosaferi2033
      @eliarmosaferi2033 4 года назад +1

      yes. The thicker the lube the more you lose tactility. It's best to use a thinner lube like 3203 or 3204 and not to lube the legs at all. If you're more experience with lubing you can use thicker lubes like krytox 205g0

      The type of lube and where you use it on the switch boils down to personal preference. I am using Zealio V2 62g on my main keyboard and lubed everything, including the legs, with Krytox 205 G0 because I felt the switches were too tactile otherwise.
