I ask my doctor for the homa-ir test and he told me it was not medically necessary. I did find a website that took my insulin and my glucose levels and I put it in there and it did all the calculations for the homa-ir was very helpful I was able to bring my sugar levels down within a 1-year. Dr. Berg, I had almost all of those symptoms. I started KETO/IF watching you about 12 days a go and I’ve lost as of today 12.6 pounds. @@Topdealmaker I changed to only eating protein and vegetables. I stopped consuming flour, rice, potatoes, and pasta and if I ate it, it was only 1 a week and 1/2 portion. Unfortunately, I have had Covid twice since then even while fully vaccinated, and it has caused havoc. Nothing is helping.

6 months after starting listening to Dr. Berg I have lost 15kgs so far. I was 75kgs at 30% body fat, now I am 60kgs at 21.8% body fat. I thought it was impossible after dieting and counting calories for two years. I didn’t look overweight and I didn’t have other issues other than bloating but I knew I needed to lose weight. I have been doing OMAD for awhile now and 48hrs fast once a week. It feels so good not to be concerned over food and thinking of what to eat all day long. I started working in a candy store 3 years ago and we can eat all we want for free. My weight hasn't changed, I have no belly fat. I'm 5'3 and 118 lbs. My eyes have worsened and so has my focus and memory. I also feel fatigue. I notice all the skin tags on the regular customers and the dark skin folds. Sadly some come straight from being released from a hospital. They still have the Id bracelets on. Sugary creamy chewy. Customers light up when they buy it. It has to be a drug. I watch the children get excited when the walk in. Sad that something so good is so bad.
Some signs of insulin resistance include: 👍A waistline over 40 inches in men and 35 inches in women. Blood pressure readings of 130/80 or higher. A fasting glucose level over 100 mg/dL. A fasting triglyceride level over 150 mg/dL. A HDL cholesterol level over under 40 mg/dL in men and 50 mg/dL in women. Skin tags.
My waist is 74cm/29inches and I *do* have insuline resistance and I still need to lose 13kg/28lbs. So I'm sorry, but you're totally wrong. The body types are very different and you can't estimate such a thing on a measurement. Most of my weight is on my butt and thighs.

I have learnt so much from these videos about my condition over the last 40 years that none of my doctors have been able to diagnose, just giving me pills and excuses for my single symptoms. I have started on some supplements and lifestyle changes that this series and others on the same subjects have mentioned, not trying to rush and burnout, but slowly completing the change over to a healthier me. Thanks for your insight in to this, as it has made me feel that I can still have some life changes moments as I come to retirement and beyond.

Thank you for this video, I am from Québec, Canada and I am having close to 20 symptoms of your list and the most annoying one is Brainfog, it brought me to depression and anxiety because I felt dysfunctional. I have seen several doctors and non of them talk to me about alimentation! All of them wanted me to take anti-depressant which I always refused so they refused to have me as a patient so I turned to Ayurvedic and holistic medecine and you and my health as improve so far (6 months or so) at least 50%. So thank you again, what we put in our body is so important and no doctor ever talk about it??? (Sorry for my english, I am a french speaking person)
It would be nice a video about the symptoms of reversed insulin resistance. After a year in and out of ketosis, 26 kg weightloss and lastly started exercising i think its gone. No more thirst like a vampire after eating sweets, not waking up at night, no sugar cravings also when im not doing keto , im not believing it
good, me too. Getting a sugar high after eating some sugar means you are not insulin resistant. Come on I know we all indulge sometimes even after Keto. We always regret it though!
I agree. I had the skin tags, discoloration, tired and a host of others. The skin tags and discoloration got my attention and thank god I did something about it. I am down to 150 from 280.
So glad I found this video. I don’t want any of these symptoms especially not fatty liver, which I know I have. After my Laparoscopic procedure in 2016 my surgeon told me I had fatty liver in the recovery room, which had nothing to do with the procedure, but he seemed concerned enough. I though once I cut out carbs, sugar, and went gluten free that I healed it. Now I’m not so sure.... luckily, I only have 7 things on the list. Skin tags are genetic, I had 2 removed from my face last year. I have acne if I consume high glycemic foods. I know I’m insulin resistant because my body won’t allow me to consume breads, beans, pasta, sugar, etc, without causing a major skin eruption. I’m almost 50 and acne has caused a great deal of trauma throughout my life because of insulin resistance. It took me to a very dark place until I finally figured out high glycemic foods were not my friend. I do an at minimum an hour of cardio everyday, never had high blood pressure, cholesterol/ triglycerides have always been optimal. Thanks for this video.
Yes, No matter what, Keto and intermittent fasting i do , I get stuck on my weight and it wont budge!!!! So frustrating!! Endomorph woman at 50 years with liver and thyroid problems! Wish i could be seen by you Dr. Berg!!
Many people are avoiding rice, potatoes, and pasta because of their obvious carb content. Starch really is the kicker because it causes fast absorption and spiking of glucose. But if you rinse these items (slice the potatoes really good) until the water is clear, then cook them, then cool them in the fridge over night and reheat them for a meal the next day, the starch is washed away and the glucose lowers to a much more reasonable level and the spike is dramatically lowered. Not saying to pig out, but you can eat these items closer to “normal” portion sizes and not sweat so much about the carb content. I’m sure Dr Berg will correct me if I’m wrong but I noticed a difference in my glucose testing using these methods.

Great video, most doctors in Australian don’t know my insulin was 14 and the never checked my insulin. I learned from your videos and told them to check my Insulin.
This is why I am so happy with keto, because I had 3/4th of these symptoms. Now they are mostly gone, like skin tags. I had 2 and now I only have 1 that is 1/4 the size it used to be. Keto forever.
I've fatty liver & a big belly tummy though I wasn't even a prediabetic. But after all the videos I watched on this channel, I've been able to rid the excess fat into a much healthier weight (no more overweight) , no more high blood pressure & definitely out w the fatty liver. I followed this guy to the OMAD diet, keto is too complex for me. I dropped weight fast and feel way better. I had a shitload of these insulin resistance symptoms. Things like moodiness and fight or flight improved on day one. Now I'm curious as to the long term positive effects. I do think diet might be a little bit more individual than some of these videos give credit for, but for the vast majority in North America, this is great advice.

My mom’s biological mother’s mother had gestational diabetes after her last child while pregnant never recovered. I think my parents both had chronic dysregulated glucose all their lives. My father had a belly from when I was born. My mom has had a belly all my 40 years. Both my younger brother and I have battled our weight. Brain fog memory issues could never go to university, never drive a car . My weight usually was 145-150. Almost close to 200 hasn’t been there since age 15. Almost 40 now. I asked my dr to do the oral glucose tolerance test where u have to be at the lab for 2 hrs. Fast before blood drawn then drink the drink then wait 1-2 hrs for more blood work. I use to have a vegan pizza and smack my blood sugar would go up to 12 . Never use to happen. Always been active since age 15 I lost 70+ pounds at 15-17.
Use to be 220 at age 15 , last we heard my younger brother was 300 pounds. Been an insulin Problem from our parents. And my mom’s grandmother from her biological mother had gestational diabetes. Feel like I was born into a diabetic family.
You already said how to start 🙂. Look up Dr Eric's video on how to start keto for beginners. I recommend his guide more than anyone else because he keeps it simple & detailed enough so that you will learn.

I was on keto for nearly 2 weeks and lost 5lbs. I got up one morning and felt like all my energy had been drained. I'm a tour guide and was due to take a tour out that day so ate toast. Felt so much better but felt a failure keto wise.
I yo yo alll the time. I lost 25 pounds a few months ago with fasting and gained it back. Im 4 days back in and that is a good sign for me. It is hard to jump back on if i cant make it passed the 2nd day. Here's to a full week!
This was SO useful! I’m super-lean, don’t eat much sugar/carbs (though undoubtedly too much like most people), but I’m wondering if I have a blood sugar issue. It would be really helpful to know which of these symptoms have a correlation to obesity.

I cut the carbs and it fixed a whole bunch of my health problems. Now it's quite apparent that my gout, daytime sleepiness, and fatty liver were all linked.

Geez, I had most of the symptoms. I have the skinny fat. I don’t have dark folds or skin tags either. I did OMAD eating last year and lost 50 pounds in five months and felt fabulous. Then after that I slowly began to eat like I used to and 10 pounds have crept back up, but worse than the 10 pounds was the inches associated with it, and the inflammation. I recently broke my wrist and had to have surgery to repair it. I wasn’t getting any relief from pain except with ibuprofen which made my stomach hurt. So I knew I had to go back to OMAD. Yesterday was my first day and I was down exactly one pound already this morning from yesterday morning.

Two part question - and please advise if I am confused on the process... How does "injected insulin" bind to insulin receptors more effectively, when pancreatic insulin does not due to over use of insulin signaling (known as IR - Insulin resistence)? If the injected insulin is effective in bypassing the signal to the pancreas, and delivering insulin and nutrients, then why doesn't the injected method not "cure" IR (no signaling), and thereby curing Diabetes?
What do we do if we are starving all day and even after eating though? Do we ignore the hunger? I see that fasting is supposedly the key to fixing this issue, but my stomach growls even after a full meal.

@@Topdealmaker I changed to only eating protein and vegetables. I stopped consuming flour, rice, potatoes, and pasta and if I ate it, it was only 1 a week and 1/2 portion. Unfortunately, I have had Covid twice since then even while fully vaccinated, and it has caused havoc. Nothing is helping.

6 months after starting listening to Dr. Berg I have lost 15kgs so far. I was 75kgs at 30% body fat, now I am 60kgs at 21.8% body fat.
I thought it was impossible after dieting and counting calories for two years. I didn’t look overweight and I didn’t have other issues other than bloating but I knew I needed to lose weight.

Insulin resistance became my favourite topic after watching all your videos on it.Thanks for simplifying this complex topic.
I started working in a candy store 3 years ago and we can eat all we want for free. My weight hasn't changed, I have no belly fat. I'm 5'3 and 118 lbs. My eyes have worsened and so has my focus and memory. I also feel fatigue. I notice all the skin tags on the regular customers and the dark skin folds. Sadly some come straight from being released from a hospital. They still have the Id bracelets on. Sugary creamy chewy. Customers light up when they buy it. It has to be a drug. I watch the children get excited when the walk in. Sad that something so good is so bad.
3 mths on keto and NO dry eye!!! Hopefully they will continue to heal.

My waist is 74cm/29inches and I *do* have insuline resistance and I still need to lose 13kg/28lbs. So I'm sorry, but you're totally wrong. The body types are very different and you can't estimate such a thing on a measurement. Most of my weight is on my butt and thighs.
Although I don't go to doctors to get anything tested, I don't seem to have any of these symptoms , yAy! The bone spurs, arthritis in my hands and skin issues have all cleared up since doing healthy keto and IF...it is such a Blessing that I found you Dr Berg!

Thank you for this video, I am from Québec, Canada and I am having close to 20 symptoms of your list and the most annoying one is Brainfog, it brought me to depression and anxiety because I felt dysfunctional. I have seen several doctors and non of them talk to me about alimentation! All of them wanted me to take anti-depressant which I always refused so they refused to have me as a patient so I turned to Ayurvedic and holistic medecine and you and my health as improve so far (6 months or so) at least 50%. So thank you again, what we put in our body is so important and no doctor ever talk about it??? (Sorry for my english, I am a french speaking person)

It would be nice a video about the symptoms of reversed insulin resistance. After a year in and out of ketosis, 26 kg weightloss and lastly started exercising i think its gone. No more thirst like a vampire after eating sweets, not waking up at night, no sugar cravings also when im not doing keto , im not believing it
good, me too. Getting a sugar high after eating some sugar means you are not insulin resistant. Come on I know we all indulge sometimes even after Keto. We always regret it though!
I agree. I had the skin tags, discoloration, tired and a host of others. The skin tags and discoloration got my attention and thank god I did something about it. I am down to 150 from 280.

You have covered almost all the general symptoms in a day to day life.
So glad I found this video. I don’t want any of these symptoms especially not fatty liver, which I know I have. After my Laparoscopic procedure in 2016 my surgeon told me I had fatty liver in the recovery room, which had nothing to do with the procedure, but he seemed concerned enough. I though once I cut out carbs, sugar, and went gluten free that I healed it. Now I’m not so sure.... luckily, I only have 7 things on the list. Skin tags are genetic, I had 2 removed from my face last year. I have acne if I consume high glycemic foods. I know I’m insulin resistant because my body won’t allow me to consume breads, beans, pasta, sugar, etc, without causing a major skin eruption. I’m almost 50 and acne has caused a great deal of trauma throughout my life because of insulin resistance. It took me to a very dark place until I finally figured out high glycemic foods were not my friend. I do an at minimum an hour of cardio everyday, never had high blood pressure, cholesterol/ triglycerides have always been optimal. Thanks for this video.

Yes, No matter what, Keto and intermittent fasting i do , I get stuck on my weight and it wont budge!!!! So frustrating!! Endomorph woman at 50 years with liver and thyroid problems! Wish i could be seen by you Dr. Berg!!
Many people are avoiding rice, potatoes, and pasta because of their obvious carb content. Starch really is the kicker because it causes fast absorption and spiking of glucose.
But if you rinse these items (slice the potatoes really good) until the water is clear, then cook them, then cool them in the fridge over night and reheat them for a meal the next day, the starch is washed away and the glucose lowers to a much more reasonable level and the spike is dramatically lowered.
Not saying to pig out, but you can eat these items closer to “normal” portion sizes and not sweat so much about the carb content.
I’m sure Dr Berg will correct me if I’m wrong but I noticed a difference in my glucose testing using these methods.

Great video, most doctors in Australian don’t know my insulin was 14 and the never checked my insulin. I learned from your videos and told them to check my Insulin.
I have a couple of questions. Questions: (1) why is fatty liver up on the list twice? (2) how does one counter act insulin resistance?
This is why I am so happy with keto, because I had 3/4th of these symptoms. Now they are mostly gone, like skin tags. I had 2 and now I only have 1 that is 1/4 the size it used to be. Keto forever.

I've fatty liver & a big belly tummy though I wasn't even a prediabetic. But after all the videos I watched on this channel, I've been able to rid the excess fat into a much healthier weight (no more overweight) , no more high blood pressure & definitely out w the fatty liver. Does keto diet cause Ketoacidosis ?
I followed this guy to the OMAD diet, keto is too complex for me. I dropped weight fast and feel way better. I had a shitload of these insulin resistance symptoms. Things like moodiness and fight or flight improved on day one. Now I'm curious as to the long term positive effects. I do think diet might be a little bit more individual than some of these videos give credit for, but for the vast majority in North America, this is great advice.

My mom’s biological mother’s mother had gestational diabetes after her last child while pregnant never recovered. I think my parents both had chronic dysregulated glucose all their lives. My father had a belly from when I was born. My mom has had a belly all my 40 years. Both my younger brother and I have battled our weight. Brain fog memory issues could never go to university, never drive a car . My weight usually was 145-150. Almost close to 200 hasn’t been there since age 15. Almost 40 now. I asked my dr to do the oral glucose tolerance test where u have to be at the lab for 2 hrs. Fast before blood drawn then drink the drink then wait 1-2 hrs for more blood work. I use to have a vegan pizza and smack my blood sugar would go up to 12 . Never use to happen. Always been active since age 15 I lost 70+ pounds at 15-17.
Use to be 220 at age 15 , last we heard my younger brother was 300 pounds. Been an insulin Problem from our parents. And my mom’s grandmother from her biological mother had gestational diabetes. Feel like I was born into a diabetic family.
That’s it. I’m going keto. I’m gonna throw out all the carbs and sugar out of my house. Any tips on how to start ?

I was on keto for nearly 2 weeks and lost 5lbs. I got up one morning and felt like all my energy had been drained. I'm a tour guide and was due to take a tour out that day so ate toast. Felt so much better but felt a failure keto wise.
I yo yo alll the time. I lost 25 pounds a few months ago with fasting and gained it back.
Im 4 days back in and that is a good sign for me. It is hard to jump back on if i cant make it passed the 2nd day.

This was SO useful! I’m super-lean, don’t eat much sugar/carbs (though undoubtedly too much like most people), but I’m wondering if I have a blood sugar issue. It would be really helpful to know which of these symptoms have a correlation to obesity.
9/28 left, i had all then moved to keto/if. Lost 28kg so far in 5 months. Need to lose 10-15kg more to get rid of the belly completely and symtoms.

I cut the carbs and it fixed a whole bunch of my health problems. Now it's quite apparent that my gout, daytime sleepiness, and fatty liver were all linked.

Geez, I had most of the symptoms. I have the skinny fat. I don’t have dark folds or skin tags either. I did OMAD eating last year and lost 50 pounds in five months and felt fabulous. Then after that I slowly began to eat like I used to and 10 pounds have crept back up, but worse than the 10 pounds was the inches associated with it, and the inflammation. I recently broke my wrist and had to have surgery to repair it. I wasn’t getting any relief from pain except with ibuprofen which made my stomach hurt. So I knew I had to go back to OMAD. Yesterday was my first day and I was down exactly one pound already this morning from yesterday morning.

My symptoms were all solved after following your advice. Multiple Doctors gave me the run around for years: giving me multiple tests, and multiple treatments, and multiple medications but never explaining the ONE SIMPLE CAUSE -- TOO MUCH SUGAR in my diet. SIMPLE.

Two part question - and please advise if I am confused on the process...
How does "injected insulin" bind to insulin receptors more effectively, when pancreatic insulin does not due to over use of insulin signaling (known as IR - Insulin resistence)? If the injected insulin is effective in bypassing the signal to the pancreas, and delivering insulin and nutrients, then why doesn't the injected method not "cure" IR (no signaling), and thereby curing Diabetes?

What do we do if we are starving all day and even after eating though? Do we ignore the hunger? I see that fasting is supposedly the key to fixing this issue, but my stomach growls even after a full meal.

Cut sugar/carbs and eat a low calorie diet till you reverse it (eat it once a day).
