Some people say the best two days of a boater's life is the day he buys and the day he sells. I say that's not a boater, that's just some guy that owned a boat. Some of the best days of my life have been on the water jumping ocean waves at 80 MPH or cruising at idle around a small lake or rafted up in a cove swimming and relaxing. So many great memories with family and friends. That's' what a true boater is.
Best therapy I know of going to the lake riding in the boat just cruising nothing like it. Now, Let’s talk flatbottom v drive with straight cut gears Water cool manifolds so You can walk around the motor without burning the skin off your shins
Yup on the therapy. I would have gone water cooled headers/manifolds but absolutely nothing was available when I built the boat. Plandemic.... Thanks for checking out my videos. Hope you enjoy the other o es as well
Thank you. We Already did it, my youngest son did a phenomenal job buffing and waxing it. Stay tuned more footage of it coming along with a new build soon
that is def a good looking boat, i'll give u that. i felt pretty excited when i first got a project fish-n-ski going w a 'new' motor. just don't forget - this is a v8 open headers. i guess the neighbors and anyone trying to enjoy nature can suck it, while u do ur thing tho. smh. please understand just what u are doing - noise must not be a consideration. and don't excuse the design. kinda like a harley owner immed going away from stock exhaust. its fkd up. imho "but they sold it this way". one day i dam well hope - we will get hearing damage under control. don't mind me, i have hearing loss already. lol yeah it is permanent
You never want perfect glass water.... You ever had an iced glass of adult beverage or maybe pg... On a coaster???? Sometimes the coaster will stick to the bottom of the glass, ideal conditions are a relatively flat yet slightly choppy
This is cool as ever!!!!! But, this is one reason I would never get a small or shallow powerboat. I want to rip it ALL the time including semi-rough seas. I don't know too many places where it's not windy and there's swells.
I would agree on being careful and staying off the rough water. I bought this one for the cool factor and it's pretty calm most of the time here in TX. Thanks for watching, give us a like and subscribe
I also have a BBC Centurion jet boat. You may know now but you're not supposed to run the pump dry and rev it like you did. It's hell on the wear ring in the pump. So I've been told. Nice boat.
I've learned that after having the jet apart. And the rear bushing on a Dominator is supported by water only. It's all new now. Thanks for the advice, I'm always open to learn from someone who knows. Thanks for watching, subscribe and share it with your peep.
Thanks for watching. The exhaust is a set of stainless turbo headers with 3 inch stainless pipe out, attached with flexible marine rubber szhaust pipe. I use the steam port outlets off the engine to spray water into the pipe as it exits to keep the pipes cool. . The flanges were already on the hull when I bought the boat. Hope that gives you some details.
@@autovationFtWorth very cool and very helpful! Thank you for taking time to explain what you did. Was thinking of doing something similar on my big block…
It runs 60 wide open before the pump cavitation. I need to do some jet work and get it sorted out, but it will get to 60 in a snap. RPM cruising 35 to 40 is about 3000 3200 At 60 it runs right about 5000 Thanks for watching. Share with your friends and subscribe
I like everything about it except that you took the engine out of a running vehicle..lol. I use my LS swapped s10 to pull my boat to the levee..we could have donated you an engine. I want a boat to do that with too
first time sub. on your channel would u help me with info. on engine mount plates, oil pans etc. for a flat v-drive i just bought ? i would love your thoughts on early small blk. chevy vs LS i’m not computer savey 😎
Thanks for watching and subscribing! First off im a car guy that built a boat, so im no expert To mount the engine I used a Hardin rear bell housing with the mounts to bolt it to the stringer. For the front of the engine an ICT billet motor plate and angle metal to mount to the stringers. The pan I used is made by champ oil pans. There are lots of ways to run the LS fuel injected or carbureted. Just gotta figure out what you want If you need any other advice or pics of what I did email me brian@autovation.biz
i am looking at buying a boat, the engine froze and cracked the block, it has a 5.7 merc in it. it is a 1992. will the bell housing on it fit any year 350 /305 or a 4.3,, or a 5.3,, hard to find that information
All chevy v8 bell housings will bolt up to an LS. The only difference is th bolt at the 2 o'clock position is missing and one is added at 12 o'clock. So basically you use 5 bolts instead of 6. Good luck with your build and have fun on the water!!
Summer is almost here, time to get this beauty ready for the water again! Enjoy the journey on this build. Mike Finnegan, if you're ever cruising through Texas again, let's go boating! I'd love to get some pointers from you. @finnegansgarage

I love mine and have no plans of getting rid of it no matter what problems it gives me.
OMG I almost cried when you mentioned getting rear ended.
I think I did cry....

We have a boat!!!! I love it!
Very cool! Thanks for subscribing!
Pretty similar to what I did pulling the LS out of my street car and dropping it into my boat: nice job!
Just checked yours out on your channel. Nice job on yours as well.
Thanks for subscribing!
Miller is a VERY NICE boat!
I would agree
Great job, love Miller's! Little cut and buff on that boat and that gel would be looking showroom.
Thank you. We Already did it, my youngest son did a phenomenal job buffing and waxing it. Stay tuned more footage of it coming along with a new build soon
Great video great story
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. This one was a fun build
I am so happy for you. What a fun project!
Thanks David!!
Maybe you'll have to meet me at the lake someday for a ride.....
Best of luck with the rash.

Someone just dumped a miller off out in my almond orchard today. Looks like it was white and gold at one point in time
Freebie! Time to get it running and have some fun!

Way cool! I’d love some detail on the through hull exhaust and how you have that setup.

very nice video
Thank you. I give all the credit to my videographer @Gabenatorfilms. He's good at making my work look good
How fast is it? I have an old formula with twin small blocks. Thinking about a repower. What RPM are you at just cruising vs wot?
It runs 60 wide open before the pump cavitation. I need to do some jet work and get it sorted out, but it will get to 60 in a snap.
RPM cruising 35 to 40 is about 3000 3200
At 60 it runs right about 5000

What part of DFW are you in? I have a boat shop that specializes in classic jets like this, over by Eagle Mountain Lake.
I'm just South of Burleson. Can I contact you somehow? I've got a few small issues and some parts that I need.

Love a good boat story, especially about a miller! So you had the knock sensors in the valley pan still ?
Glad you enjoyed it. I did originally have the knock sensors in the valley, but they're gone now.

@@autovationFtWorth that great now will make it easier to find another engine for it,,i was only looking for gm 350s from the 90s..
thank you
Real nice. How fast is it?
I've had it to about 62. It needs some jet work to do any more because the pump cavitation after that.
Thanks for watching
What you run for fuel
Pump?
I ran a Carter low pressure pump to a surge tank that has a Walbro GSL 392( same as a Bosch 044) and it fees pressure to the engine
