I always liked my E-VO engine. It was on a Heritage and one tough engine. I put a Crane cam and S&S E model on it and it ran like a sewing machine. Wish I had kept that bike. If only it had the 6 speed Tranny.

Hey! Awesome video very helpful. Quick question, I am currently installing a crank shaft into my case. I noticed that you had to pop the bearing to change the shim. I bought my timken bearing as a set. The package came with the shim, snap ring ,races and bearings. Are the bearing sets usually pre-measured for bearing end play or do I have to measure and change the shim. I am palnning on putting a dial guage on it but I was just curious Thanks for your help

Frank Keating the bearing kits are suppose to be preset but in the real world they varies quite a bit. you can never count on anything being correct. check everything. the shim is what you change to correct the bearing endplay. .001-.003 is good for street motors and .003-.005 for hotrod ones. my race bike, .010-.020. at 8000rpm clearance is very good, tight is not. unlike drag motors my land speed race motor will see 8000rpm for 2-3 miles.tatro

no. you do not want to do that because you need one side to float or you will knock out the bearings when the crank flexes.

I use a old sprocket shaft, removed the pinch fit so the baring will slide on,stack a custom spacer and washer then torque the nut on , thatway you wont be pressing the wheels out of the case , set the end play without the use of the wheels
