1972 #119 FLH 98ci shovelhead stroker motor rebuild Harley by tatro machine
see how to rebuild a Harley hotrod shovelhead stroker motor with very few new parts.
the motor ran out of oil from a big oil leak and locked up. need to fixed the motor for the summer and then fix it right over the winter.
I bet it runs good for a few years because of the way I fix things.

hello buddy, can you tell me please Which piston clearance is recommended ?
I'm in the process of adjusting the cylinders and pistons on my 74" shovelhead and I'm not sure about the piston clearance.
1x aluminum factory and 1x forged pistons,
I thank you in advance for the tips.
    greetings mike

Just a quick question. What's the reason the cylinder securing nuts are so long?

on a big bore motor you do not have room for a big nut or wrench so they move it up over the stud so that you have room for the hex to tighten it with.

Where is the gap on the pin retainer locks supposed to go ? I have some pistons that have a place to pry out the clips. So I installed mine with the gap 180 degrees across from this pry hole. So the clip gap is at 9 o'clock and the pry hole is at 3 o'clock. Reusing Wiseco pistons but have new clips, wrist pins, and rings. Thought I had piston slap and removed the top end. Turns out that's not what it was. So going back with pistons and jugs..

you want the clip gap to be close to the groove so that you can pry the clip out easier. when it is a 180 from the groove it is very hard to get out because you have to compress the complete clip instead of just the one end of it.

@@TatroMachine Thanks. I'm used the circlip that can be removed or installed with plyers. I already have one in. I'll set the other one close to the groove. Thanks..

Can you tell me which type of material use for con rod bigend floting bush

i don't use floating bushings. harleys all use fixed bushings. nickel or aluminum bearing bronze will work for bushings.
