Because it wasn't exactly good for his image. Wrong is debatable. For example, if your next door neighbour is 25 and single and works as a delivery driver for a small courier company then it's not a huge deal if he's a massive pisshead on the weekends. It's quite different if you're a more mature gentlemen benefiting from the fruits of big corporate brand appeal and when you're the face of a big cash cow and culturally significant entity and you're engaging in a secret relationship with a junior member of staff who is a teenager.

What Philip did is literately the definition of grooming, add to this his brother's record and the fact that the theatre company he was associated with closed when the scandal threatened to come out in 2019, allegedly, when he came out as gay. Just because someone would tell some people the truth I doesn’t mean they would tell everyone and sometimes it doesn’t come down to who your close with some times it comes down to who they know will support them who they know will protect them and who they know wouldn’t care and wouldn’t have a problem with it. Maybe there was some he lied to because he knew they wouldn’t agree with an age gap or wouldn’t agree with a relationship involving someone at work or maybe wouldn’t agree with an affair (prior to him coming out and while still being with his wife) and of course some who he knew probably wouldn’t agree with him being involved/ in a relationship with someone who he had meet when he was underage. Just because someone would tell some people the truth I doesn’t mean they would tell everyone and sometimes it doesn’t come down to who your close with some times it comes down to who they know will support them who they know will protect them and who they know wouldn’t care and wouldn’t have a problem with it. Maybe there was some he lied to because he knew they wouldn’t agree with an age gap or wouldn’t agree with a relationship involving someone at work or maybe wouldn’t agree with an affair (prior to him coming out and while still being with his wife) and of course some who he knew probably wouldn’t agree with him being involved/ in a relationship with someone who he had meet when he was underage. I do think some people knew but I don’t think that just instantly means every single person knew or there’s not people he lied not. He has also showing how much of a liar he is so it’s very possible there a few people he lied to. Obviously itv fired him with everything that was going on they had to and I’m sure he understood that but most people at itv are behind the scenes there not knowing publicly so out of the people he was close to at itv we don’t know who (if any) still support him or if all of them turned there back on him. There’s also the fact that holly first distanced Herself from him when his brother was jailed and she found out that he had known about his brother prior to it coming out. Prior to finding out he knew about his brother she had being incredibly supportive to him and had being his rock apparently. If she knew of this relationship It just doesn’t make sense that she would distance her self from him for knowing about his brother prior and saying nothing if she had knowing about him prior and also said nothing. If she had known she would of being distancing herself from him for doing the same thing for his brother that she done for him and if she didn’t have a problem or think there was anything wrong with her knowing about his relationship with this younger guy why would she of had a problem with him knowing about his brother prior. I don’t know if I explained that well but it just doesn’t make sense that she would of distanced herself from him for just knowing about someone doing something to a child but not actually for doing something to a child himself. Just doesn’t make sense. Both are very bad but I would be quicker to distance myself from someone who actually groomed a child than someone just knowing about someone else doing it.
