There seems to be a concerted effort by those on the fringes to stir things, and it suits to ramp up the notion of Philip being unpopular. This may or may not have been the case, but someones 'likability' does not make for a water tight case!! ITV management have been trying to cover their backs, and Holly Willoughby fell out with Phil not because she found out about his affair (if this was such a badly kept secret I can't believe for one moment the she didn't know), but because she shit herself when she found out about Schofield's brother and envisioned brand Willoughby suffering by association.

What is striking me more than anything is the amount of people saying that Phillip isn’t a nice person. Imagine the opposite, and that he was well-loved by those who worked with him. Those people would be publicly backing him now and the public’s reaction towards him would be far less intense.
My point is, if you treat people badly, it eventually comes back on you. And this is what’s happening. I’m not hearing stories of how nice he was to guests or crew. I’m hearing about how he and Holly acted like entitled divas whilst Eamonn and Ruth were lovely to crew and guests.

This kind of sideways move and cover up goes on in all workplaces. I worked for a local authority as a Social Worker . There were two fairly senior male sws who had numerous complaints of sexual harassment and bullying against them. Neither of them were properly investigated both were either promoted or moved sideways one actually had a role newly created for him. I think it was sheer laziness on behalf o the senior management. I got out as fast as I could.
In my experience, the sideways move is how most managers, in all organisations, deal with wrongdoing and mismanagement 😢

I'm 33 and would feel so uncomfortable even thinking about dating a 20 year old, let alone if I was 34 years his senior, already married as well as his employer! It's beyond corrupt and unethical. That poor boy seems to have had his life torn apart by this predatory relationship and I also say this as someone who was groomed throughout my entire childhood. ITV did not know after an investigation but paid for Taxi's and moved staff around from different shows including sacking someone. Sounds like people need to familiarise themselves with the definition of a 'lie'
What Carol says is troubling. Obviously at the time McGreevy was moved to Loose Women ITV knew about the affair and that it was over and distance had to be created between the pair. McGreevy the lover was moved along to create distance, but that cost another employee his job, and made therapists out of his new colleagues. Both Phillip Schofield and ITV producers are responsible for this. Shenanigans indeed!
