hey! what are some snare etude books that you would recommend for a relative beginner? preferably more modern drum corps style rather than like old concert snare solo style
I’m not sure of many beginner books, for I never had them, I worked on my basics for a considerable amount of time, and then started learning drum corp snare breaks when I felt I was ready
The beginner books I worked out of were the Alfred drum method (I think that’s what it was called) and the Rudimental Cookbook. I haven’t personally spent much time with the Gridbook percussion series but they are also a great resource.
This will forever be iconic. First actual DCI music that I ever learned, top to bottom, took me two years
