  • My 3D printed take on the Neuralyzer from Men In Black. This video covers the easier build of the Neuralyzer, which doesn’t involve any sanding and has very minimal painting.

    Man, I LOVE your model. I built one in a hurry for my sons carnival costume. I will probably post it on printables as a make.

    game on. I can't wait to print it. might be able to start it today.

      Nice; what color are you going to make it?

      Potent Printables Im going to paint it so not sure which color I will print it in.

      Ok, let me know if you want any info on what I used for the "chrome" version.

      Potent Printables that would be great. Also did you use supports

    • @PotentPrintables
      @PotentPrintables  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, I did use supports. I printed the Bottom Shell vertically (standing up) to minimize the impact of the support. The Top I printed horiztonally (laying down), with supports on the side opposite where the control panel will go.
      For the chrome version, I used Spax Stix Mirror Chrome Black Backer followed by their Mirror Chrome. Both from spray cans. I used Google/RUclips to find some tutorials on how best to apply it. I didn't apply any clear or topcoat to it.
      It came out pretty well; but it takes a longgg time to dry. My only complaint about it is that the "chrome" coating doesn't seem very durable (if you rub at it with your finger you can see it start to come off). Hope this helps!

    Hi there, great build. I've been watching the highlights video to see if there is a clear idea of the push to close button used but I can't see it clear enough. Can you help me as I am trying to make one of these for my wedding? Many thanks.

    Where did you source the spring?
    I want to build this, but I need to know where the spring and magnets came from.
    Great work, BTW. :)

      Thanks. If you look with the STL files on Thingiverse or Myminifactory, you should see a list of materials needed and vendors that I used. Hope this helps.

      @@PotentPrintables Man...I didn't even see that. I'm blind... lol. Thank you for the quick reply and direction.
      This prop is pretty rad... I printed 2... hoping I can source the right materials for the 2nd build... need the first one for next month (MIB International premier, and I'm dressing up).

      @@PotentPrintables At 0:26 you mentioned linking to a "harder version" when it releases. Just checking to see if that was out yet. Thanks for replying so quickly!

      No problem. Unfortunately there hasn't been that much interest in this build, so I wasn't planning on doing a video or releasing files for the harder version.

      Ah, that's unfortunate. I had your Thingiverse page bookmarked and finally coming back to it now that my printer is running well again, was hoping to get into the fancier version. Cheers, man!

    *Great video!* *🕶 I have an official MIB 2 Neuralyzer by Master Replicas. Sony Studios lent Master Replicas their MIB 2 Neuralyzer for detailed examination to make 1000 authentic limited edition movie replicas. It’s metal constructed & shiny chrome finished with month day & hour dials, the top blue light, a charge light & the trigger. Pressing the bottom of the clip opens the Neuralyzer & the flash is as strong as a camera flash. Sound effects are recorded from MIB's post-production records. Using it kinda puts you in the movie itself.*

      The replica you have sounds amazing! Glad you enjoyed the video.

      Charles Coslor If he’s unable to make one, just watch m.ruclips.net/video/BglsQ4P3WqQ/видео.html for very close explanations, details, and demonstrations on his replica. I'm still waiting for one on eBay or Amazon.

    I'm on my 7th spring. Still no good. Tried many different springs, cutting slowly and nothing works so far. VERY frustrating. Thought i had found it when i bought toilet paper spring loaded holder, tried those springs, first one's to actually fit in the thing, but even cut down (cut, try, cut, try, cut, try, etc) still doesn't work. Not even close :(

    • @PotentPrintables
      @PotentPrintables  6 лет назад

      Sorry to hear that! For me that meant the magnets weren't touching or the spring was not seating correctly. I would test it without the spring, to make sure the magnets clicked together nicely and held with a bit of force.
      If the magnets don't click together with the spring removed, then something is up with the position of the magnets or the way the top and bottom shells mate/slide together. I had a little warping in my top piece, so keep an eye out for that.
      Hope this helps and sorry it is not going smoothly.
