I love this version of the neuralyzer. I grew up with the original MIB when I was a kid and It's one of my top five favorite movies of all time. The original neuralyzer is my favorite of the designs.

FYI the battery replacement on the MIB2 is an N size battery that you can get online (Amazon) or Walmart or Walgreens, you get the idea. Maybe change the battery and do a short side by side with the flash? Good review

I have the MIB2 neuralyzer, J's standard issue sidearm and the noisy cricket on display together. I love the blue MIB2 neuralyzer but I prefer the red MIB neuralyzer as it was in the original film. So yeah I'm also going to swap the plaques because I prefer the museum style display case. I'll mount the MIB2 neuralyzer on the wall next to the others, or maybe sell it, not sure yet.
