What sort of switch, mini breaker or contactor should I use? I would like to have it mounted near the machine between the main breaker panel and before the VFD input power. Thank you!

The motor can run at full efficiency, losses only occur in the inverter (VFD). But if your input power is enough, these are not a problem.

Why is the input marked L1 and N....which is 120 Volts on the line and N is the neutral for 120 VAC if the input is supposed to be 220 VAC? Thanks DD
Did you ever figure this out? I have the same question.
Maybe it can work on anything from 120V to 240Vs as input, or maybe they used a convertor made for the US market where they use 120V in their grid.
Should the type of motor be (inverter duty motor) so as not to be damaged?
It is best to use a professional inverter duty motor, of course, ordinary motors can also be used (to ensure good heat dissipation)
