In 2001, I bought a new Silverado 2500HD 4x4 extended cab with an 8.1 gas big block hooked to a 6-speed manual. I still have it today, hauling stuff in the bed or in my 5-ton dump trailer. There are 118,000 (mostly highway) miles on it, and counting. Over the last 21 years, all I have replaced is one serpentine belt (about due for another one), two batteries, tires, fluids, and filters. I've done one brake job (pads and rotors, calipers are original), and one clutch job. The old girl is tired now, a little like me. To celebrate my upcoming 70th birthday, I'm treating myself to a new truck, and it'll be a 2500HD gas GMC Denali...not even glancing at Ford or Dodge, no matter how big their info screens are.
I had the 21 ram 2500 6.7 cummins and loved the truck. But the transmission is a POS, and the seating position is not great. It got tolted about a month ago so I decided to try the GMC 3500 HD single wheel, and let me tell you, much better seating and the transmission is fantastic, and it has why more pulling power then the standard ram 6.7. Before my Ram, I had a 17 f250 6.7 and a 19 f350 dually 6.7. Both trucks were amazing and loved everything except the death wobble on the 17 and the ride and fuel mileage on the 19. All have goods and bads, but i will say the GMC definitely has the best fuel mileage and transmission.
2006 Chevy 2500 HD has 360,455 miles on this old girl. Tow 30 foot travel trailer or 26 foot Malibu skier throughout this country. General maintenance tires, breaks, belts ,fluids and only 1 injector. Trany only fluid change. This old girl still runs like the day I bought her. Been waiting a long time for her to break; want to get a new truck .
Being a Ford guy I have to agree with yall that the interior doesn't look all that different from older generations but then again I like the hard plastic and sharp edges, you can get it dirty as a truck should be but that's just my opinion. I can understand people spending 70-80 grand on a truck an not wanting it to get dirty but then again trucks are designed for work and work equals dirt so.... idk to each is thier own I guess. Nothing again the dodge but I feel the chevy interior is very nice and updated no offense just an opinion
Hi guys im from the philippines. And i have a RAM 2500 HD 2021 and we have a rice farm business, and i bought gooseneck lowboy trailer 20ft maximum capacity 8,130 kilos and we tow 5,000 kilos equvalent to 100 pieces sack of rice and 1 rice is weight 50 kilos, and it tows like 1ton the exaust brake is so freaking good and the cummins turbo diesel its so robust.
To be fair though ford had the worst HD trucks at that time and it wasn’t even close the most unreliable in so many ways. Both Ram and GM much better. Remember 6.0 and 6.4 diesels 💩it really doesn’t get worse than that. It’s surprising they didn’t just recall all of them they were so consistently bad. They looked all right though 🤷♂️. Maybe they didn’t need a bail out because they didn’t invest in making better vehicles. Needless to say after 2008 ALL car makers realized they had to try and make a quality, good looking and innovative vehicle instead of just coasting on whatever. It definitely seems car makers are actively trying to improve for the most part even though it comes with these huge price tags.
@@MrBiff123 No, that's not "fair". Your statement "to be fair" is false which means the rest of your thoughts are just an opinion at best. Ford didn't take a bail out period. No one had to buy their 6.0 or 6.4 diesels. They didn't bend over tax paying mid class Americans to stay in business. If you didn't like their motors during that time and they STILL didn't require a Government (Middle class tax payer) bail out; they are better then the rest, period end of story. Getting bailed out is NOT fair.
I’ve worked for Ford, Dodge and now GMC (Chevy). I can safely say for the best overall reliability for current makes. Hands down Ram, then Ford, then anything GM last. I love working for GM though. I am forever busy due to their unreliability lol
RAM seems be highly recommended online but in person my experience is different. The ride is very SUV like with lots of body roll (not very truck like). The interior is really cheap and not durable in the base model, but cost a fortune for the higher models. The payload capacity is horrible, though the towing is okay. I compared to ford and GM…ford has some rock solid work truck features and GM has the best numbers for payload/towing for the price. After the 2024 ford redesign and GM refresh, both will be better than RAM. Seeing all 3, RAM is a good choice for someone who wants a top trim ‘luxury SUV with open rear cargo,’ ford if you want a work truck, or GM if you want something in between at a lower cost. RAM and Ford diesels have poor reliability dealing with all the emissions crap, but duramax is solid. If say get a gas engine in either of them and if you must have a diesel (towing 20k etc) go for GM.

No they just laid off 800000 workers and moved their factories to Mexico. Now they're asking for a bailout or they're gonna fold.

Why are you comparing Chevy Gas to Ford & Dodge Diesels?
Of the brand new trucks I’d take the ford… but I’d take the 2005-2014 2500HD with the gasoline 6.0.
Love my 2018 ram diesel, but wish they would implement a 4 auto mode like the GM trucks!
That is a good point, Samuel. Thank you for watching!

They need to have less nooks and crevices in trucks. That would make them easier to clean.
This is true. A person would waste a pallet of q-tips on today's trucks, lol! 😂
Your off on the Ram. Its 6.7 L diesel with six speed tranny.
The 6.4 Hemi gasser has the 8 speed.

Do Ford 250 still has the death wobble???
