Your artistry and view of things at a different level is a commodity needed to teach beyond what schools today can do. I’m glad that you see this and show your students that it’s not all about the tools but an imagination to an end is very important.
I really like the look of the objects "floating" on different layers. Adds some cool depth and perspective to the piece. Very cool overall. Thanks for sharing!
Great film. Awesome table, love the different layers/floating items. Where does one find an artificial hip, "on the streets of NY?" Mahalo for sharing! : )
@@Cabeza492 the piece of metal that has a 45-ish degree angle and a ball shaped end, it’s a piece of surgical implant that goes on the hip, it’s shaped like a femur.
The shadows of the upper layer items are my favorite part of the build. I wonder if there had been a way to prevent the bubbles under the safety glasses though? Awesome build Jimmy, very inspiring, downright memorable.
I noticed them during the build... but it's easy to critique from the spectator spot. I think if he had put down the epoxy first and then dipped the glasses in epoxy first, then pressed them in from an angle it would have eliminated the trapped air bubbles. But, hindsight is 20/20. Still looks awesome IMHO. Maybe some googly eyes behind the glasses...
Amazing! I love it. Thanks for sharing I remember going to see my grandparents as a little kid. They had some coins in a resin block. I remember just carefully turning the block around and around looking at the coins frozen in time. thanks for reigniting a memory :)
All Jimmy is doing is creating functional art his kids can liquidate at any given moment with just his name alone and support 3 college tuitions for 2 more generations……………………………………. And that is what I love and respect the most about him. Would love to collaborate
This is one of the most inspiring videos I've seen yet. It's awesome to think that you have memories behind each of those things. Now I wish I had kept some similar things myself! Great job Jimmy! Thanks for inspiring the way you do!
as a fan I love the new stuff, but this is a project like the ones that got me hooked in the first place. Little jog thru memory lane and the old NYC shop. Still never disappointed by the work you do.
Nice memories box. If you don’t use for a table. Since it’s the tool’s you used over time. It would make a cool clock on the wall, the metal wheel. Always, nice to see your work.
I enjoy your projects. I have a mind for things. But do not have the talent or time to make them happen. I wish I did you make it look easy. Even though I know a lot of time goes into them. Keep up the good work and I will keep watching.
That's cool. I'd like to see you do one where all the hardware is imbedded in a block of acrylic without the wood. You'd be able to see through the acrylic like a window. My 2 cents :)
Ah... Funny to think I discovered you years ago with something similar (a Make logo if I'm remembering correctly). That video literally made me a maker ever since. Thanks 😊
Nice table. I like the multilayered effect. Off topic Jimmy, but John Malecki on his channel does a 5 min/50 min/5 hour series of challenge builds. It would be interesting to see what you could come up with.

this one is old school DiResta... love it!
Getting close to 2M Jimmy. Love everything you do. Thank you for sharing your many talents and inspiring so many people.
I love that you have a hip prosthesis for the memory table. A bit macabre, but still, unique......
Simply put; you're a genius! I live vicariously through you...
Great to see an old skool Diresta build
I would cover it up to make sure it does not catch dust and dirt while its curing.
The dust in Jimmy's shop is just props. Not real dust.
@@tankboy77 Not gonna argue with that. I would pay for some JD dust xD
@@benbro87 Cardboard will do.
@@tankboy77 Well it is real, it's just dustless dust.

Looks so vibrant, all the colors under the resin. Very cool 👍
Really impressive. Who would come to this page and leave a “thumbs down”? I don’t understand people.
The only thing better than that is a set of matching chairs to go with it, nice job Jimmy, great addition to any man cave.

Still such a cool project, even without something dead inside it.
This is not the one with a dead rat inside it.
Hip implant is a symbol of death instead.
@@mieguistumas Sorry if I'm bothering you but, can you explain me that please?
@@Cabeza492 the piece of metal that has a 45-ish degree angle and a ball shaped end, it’s a piece of surgical implant that goes on the hip, it’s shaped like a femur.
Of all the projects you have done this is in the top 5 of favorites.
Thank You
So clean. The dual layers is genius. Love the end with all the finish shots so we can admire the table. :)
I remember your Videos in the basement, beeing in a busy City. Your faster Playtime of the videos was so hypnotic ;)
What a fantastic idea for all your moments!!!
This is amazing and creative and beautiful. What a meaningful gift this would make.
Thanks to Peter brown all I can think of when I see clear resin is how it will yellow with time...
Yeah exactly what I was thinking about. Hope it gets put somewhere away from sunlight.
@@bend1483 nope Peter brown had them all in boxes wrapped up in paper and they still yellowed...
I was thinking the same. But maybe with the wooden frame and basis and rusty parts it won't appear to badly...
That's beautiful. And I'm sure every single piece in there has a story behind it. Very cool.
That'll look great in the Diresta museum next to all your bandsaws!
Awesome sir ... thanks for the inspiration, makes, ideas, lessons, tips, tricks all of these years

He can still drill from the backside and fill the voids with epoxy.
A little Boardwalk Empire in the background??
Flippin rad table!!
Jimmy i miei complimenti,più bello del primo esemplare!
CLASSIC DIRESTA
Great project. Very much liked that you put in objects in a separate layer for depth.
Nice memorabilia to look at from time to time.
Makes me nostalgic for the dead rat from the early days. True NYC chic. 🦦
I love it. Pretty cool idea to have some memory triggering items around!
This table looks exactly like one of the old children's I spy books
I'm speachless, this is pure art!! Cheers from Brazil and thanks for sharing it.

thanks for reigniting a memory :)
Awesome!
I exploded when I saw the hip prosthesis! Hahahaaa
Sincere regards from Argentina
Reminds me of the time you casted a rat in a stool.
Good times.
He ate a rat?
I wonder how that stool aged, not well I guess must be a moldy mess today ? 🤔
@@davidcat1455 'casted' means he put it in epoxy like the things in this table. I don't think jimmy would EAT a rat!! :-)
@@stepheneyles2198
It was a play on words. “Stool” also means poop. Only way a rat would get in your poop is if you ate it.😂😂😂😂😂
I really like the look of the floating objects. cool idea for reminding you about stuff
Classic Mid-century DiResta!!
A great conversation piece and really cool to be able to say. I made that.😎
You missed the dead rat!! 😂😂😂👍🏼💥

I wonder if it may have been possible to put a glass panel on the last wet epoxy layer. Just to seal it of and give it a nice and hard surface.
This reminds me of those ISPY books from elementary school!
Came here to comment the exact same thing lol
AWESOME!! way COOL! have some creative juices flowing...
Wow that was insanely satisfying to watch.
And whats up with the proximal femoral hip implant ( explant ) in the case?
I was wondering the relevance myself....
I was wondering what that was
Listening to the radio in the background reminds me of the chipmunks that are actually on the radio commercials, "news", and talk.

Awesome work Again Jimmy👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Good job Jimmy Diresta well done
I've been hoarding stuff for years just to make one of these!! Now I have to make my own!
I like that you put some items in between pours so they look like they are floating. Pretty cool
Cool time capsule. I like the multiple layers.
Awesome, great idea and love the rustic look of it all
Fantastic project. Love the overlapping layers.
Just received my DIRESTA Razor Blade Shirt today, thanks Jimmy.
It's really cool to see how comfortable you are with tools and project materials. You are totally undaunted by any of it.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great idea! This is one way to keep your tools from rusting.
Very cool. Just the dice look put of place. I would have preferred only the steel stuff.
Another great memory table! Love the work, inspired everyday in the hot tub!!!!
A prosthetic joint?? now that's a memory.. :D
