  • Sup fam, today we're reviewing D°Luxe Dive Gear Tank Straps. I'm excited to take a first look at high quality custom tank straps/hose retainers from D°Luxe Dive Gear. Are they better than other offerings from companies like dive rite, dive gear express, mares, and halcyon? Let me know what you think!

I have been using mine for two years now and they have never let me down. I use the smaller 1.5" straps and they stay put, release the hose easily, and are very easy to replace the hose back into while still on the move. Definitely worth the money.

I want it just for that thumb strap. Mine are a pain to lift up and get hose back in

they coming a bit expensive instead for a tenner i bought 3 bands from amazon tha ladies using for leg exercise.if you dont care for the looks you just put inner bicycle tube.

Innertube, bungee (even the old DSS ones), surgical tubing, elastics from diverite/UWLD/whoever, and a bunch of stuff from amazon. I've tried just about everything and these are the best in my opinion. A lot of them work well until you have gloves on, but they all wear out too early for me. I don't mind spending extra when it lasts so much longer.

I hated watching you hover a few inches above the sand with the katana 2 and 2 AL 80s, I used to be able to do that until I just got certified on a rebreather last week, now buoyancy is a whole new ballgame to figure out. lol

Any long term issues with them stretching out?

None yet. I heard Vas Proud from sidemounting.com say that he has some that are 3 years old and still good to go.

You think 3 years is long for a tank strap that's crazy I'd expect 10yrs minimum

They do last way longer. They don't become loose, and the sewing doesn't tear. The need to change appears from damages caused by rocky stones, for example. The longevity of the straps depends on environmental conditions (fresh/salt water, sun, etc.), care, and dive frequency.
