I have a CMMG 5.7 Banshee - with a dead air mask - and love it. It is a nail driver and a tank. More and more companies are putting out 5.7 guns - which will only help drive the cost of ammo to go down, and more load types to market.
Federal's specs on the 1650 fps for the AE TMJ is from the 5" USG barrel. You'll normally see about 1,915 from the the 10.4" SBR. Kind of wish they offered the 5.7 variant with an 8" barrel as previously their 8" MK57 had identical velocities to the 10.4".
@@GBGuns There's no denying though that the DBX so far has been the lightest, thinnest, and most compact "PDW" style offering. I just wish they spent some more time on stuff like the bolt catch, and not spec'ing the mag well for Pro-mags from the get go (mag well too much play for OE mags, then they don't feed). Not sold on long term use of the gas system, but it is still going strong.
Gavin maybe should make a few videos reloading the 5.7x28? Your channel is labeled Ultimate reloaded after all. As for the Dissent I like it, will consider getting one in 300 blk.
I would wait for the FM-15 and PSA JAKL in .300 blk before deciding for the Dissent. The Sig Virtus/Rattlers are also another option. It will all come out to what you prefer: barrel length, barrel twist and gas system (DI vs Piston).
I love this pistol, but the gun i've been pining for is a rock island armory or other PCC that fires the .22TCM, and uses their 17 round 1911A2/2011 magazine
are you sponsored by sight mark? I don't buy those because i'm a snob, but i appreciate you were willing to just slap one on this for testing purposes and not feel the need to have a Trij or an Eotech to make a video.
I agree with Buffman on barrel length. I don't understand why CMMG would handicap the 5.7 down to .22 magnum territory with the short barrel. I see no reason why it shouldn't be 2" longer. I would buy one with longer barrel, this one not so much. I'd go for the FN carbine if wanted 5.7, otherwise something in .22 magnum.
The lack of dust cover and the jagged against curved edge towards the back annoy the hell out of me. If they fix those this would be my number 1 300blk gun on the market.
@@Ultimatereloader Sadly here in my country (Germany) they prohibited center fire pistol calibers smaller than .25 cal because... nobody knows?! you can own a 50 cal no problemo, semi autos, sure! Suppressors, yes of course. Thermal or NIghtvision adons for scopes? also yes. But a 5.7 or a 4.6 Handgun? no way thats bad, but a .500 S&W is fine though. But it would still be interesting to see load development of such a small caliber.
You took the words out of my mouth. As soon as he said 300blk i had to look and got disappointed that it was 1:7. Especially something that’s gonna compete on the mcx level for compact pdw
Does it use that back pic rail section/buffer plug thing as retention for the carrier and spring? I keep hearing that it could mount on any mil spec lower but I assume you would have to have that specific adapter as well, correct?
I absolutely love what this PDW is and what it stands for! I'm curious if the barrels & calibers are swappable by the user? Will CMMG offer barrel/caliber change kits?
@@Ultimatereloader Yes, there is a lacquer coating on the cases and no real agreement on how to deal with it, I just tumble about 40 minutes in corn cob and then proceed, I got up to three loads so far, but have not tried a fourth. Some people say remove the lacquer others say don't clean the cases in a tumbler at all. The cases are delicate so the press and dies need a little more care when setting up. Crisis, fascism, and probably wholesale confiscation attempts are likely here too soon. Just can't be adding 5.7 or 4.6 any time soon. Maybe not even any .30 Super Carry. Hate full sized AR mags for 'compact' guns chambered with small cartridges.

Well for one reason is that with barrels that length you’re improving the ballistics of the pistol cartridges somewhat and impeding the performance of rifle cartridges drastically
A. It isn’t a pistol round B. Even if it was a pistol round, you get better ballistic performance and higher capacity in a package that generates almost zero recoil with a rifle platform.
5.7 is my favorite cartridge.. love seeing new 5.7 guns released. Light, accurate, and able. This one looks so good.
Good deal, I like it too!

Swap that barrel my dude
This bufferless sytem AR is awesome. This is a keeper for me.
That's a cool little 5.7 pistol, even with brace or sling setup.
Next let's see you reload some 5.7x28 and build a load closer to what the military gets to play with.
Looks a lot like the Diamondback DBX, but the DBX is dual-piston operated and has a reversable charging handle up over the action.
Yeah- interesting! Also different magazines...
@@Ultimatereloader It's the overall slimness that makes me think of the DBX, but I think the DBX is skinnier.

Love the collaboration between cmmg and triggertech. Great looking gun and love to see the 300 blk in action.

I wonder if they are going to come out with a 10mm

Great review. Thank you for posting
Totally awesome "THANKS Gavin" just what I need is another something to explain to my wife.🤣
like the straight mag.
Looks nice I'd buy it.Im torn between the 5.7 and the 300 blk.may I suggest try the upper on your machine gun lower to see how it runs

great video thanks lad

I was waiting for someone to mention the truck 😂

Still wish it had a port cover...
The lack of dust cover and the jagged against curved edge towards the back annoy the hell out of me. If they fix those this would be my number 1 300blk gun on the market.
please do a reloading video for 5.7
I actually want one. Hopefully I can get my vhs2 payed off and get one this year. I think 300 blackout would be the ticket.
The Dissent actually uses the new "Compact Action" system, not the radial delayed blowback.
Huh. Apparently, even though CMMG's website doesn't say it, the 5.7 version IS radial delayed.
Game changing….
Looks super dependable
Recoil management looks like the ps 90
Have you fired the Dissent in 5.56?
Are 10 round mags available for those of us in WA state that will not be ready to purchase by the end of the month?
This is so cool thanks for the video
Haven’t sited your site mark? Don’t worry. It won’t hold.
Do maybe a reloading video for accuracy for this gun.
Great idea!

I want one in 300 blackout.
I’m betting they will eventually come with longer barrels and MAYBE a faster twist rate than 1/7 for the .300 blk on that short barrel.
That is the fanciest trigger measuring device I've ever seen :D
There going to be a builders kit?
My thoughts exactly.
Whats the trigger pull? I am a GMC guy
I would have been a buyer of the 300 blk if it was a 1:6 or 1:5 twist, aside from that these look cool.

It’s not radial delayed blowback. It’s direct impingement.
Great vid thanks!
Love it.
like to see a comparison with the Banshee.
Planning to with that 4.6x30mm that I have!
Will a binary trigger work on it?
Did you happen to hear anything about different calibers ? I'd love 7.62x39 or 45 acp
Anyone have an overall length? (in New Zealand our pistols must be under 400mm)
Does it use that back pic rail section/buffer plug thing as retention for the carrier and spring? I keep hearing that it could mount on any mil spec lower but I assume you would have to have that specific adapter as well, correct?
Why is it called the Dissent?
I think it's a great name given the current assault on our 2A rights!
so, its a mcx copy?
Is the charging handle swappable? I see the slot on the right-hand side.
It's swappable. Available as an option on order on their site too
Typically don't like cerakoted firearms, but that coyote brown looks nice. Having one in 300 BLK seems like it'd be a nice package.
That is very nice .....

I believe they will be offering the upper only, which will work with their Mark 5.7 lower which takes FN magazines I believe.
I can't find barrel specs on Blackout.
It's a 5.7 on a heavy "Pistol". It better not be unwieldly lol. My FN Five-Seven shoots like a .22.
Where to buy this upper?
Dope!!!
can you do a Sig Cross vs. Springfield waypoint 2020 in .308
🎯🇺🇲 Be nice if they make this for the 308 & 7.62x39 caliber with a 8" barrel 🙏🏾
I will own this in 300blk
Yes, that would be a GREAT caliber for DISSENT.
You lost me at the MSRP it’s not for the average consumer
5.7 x 28 is hard to reload, but not too hard.

Why would you EVER run a Rifle platform with a Pistol round!?!
Marketing...nothing more.
Well for one reason is that with barrels that length you’re improving the ballistics of the pistol cartridges somewhat and impeding the performance of rifle cartridges drastically
Check the numbers on .357 and .44mag out of a trapper carbine. There's excellent reason to run pistol rounds out of a rifle.
My first deergun was a model 94 in .44mag
Why would you call the 5.7 a pistol round when the P90 (rifle) was released several years before the five-seven pistol?
A. It isn’t a pistol round
