There's nothing wrong with ADAS or how it is implemented. We should stop saying "Indian Driving conditions" for the lack of driving sense that we have.
The biggest challenge that I face in my Kia Seltos with Lane Keep Assist is the broken patches which when you try to avoid the system pulls you back to the broken road.
Here is how I propose you use Adaptive Cruise Control (I use XUV700, but should work anywhere). On the highways, set the speed to a bit lower than what you would drive on an average given the conditions. Watch how early your car brakes (and breaks your momentum). Once you have a feel for it, do this. Every time the car is about to brake to maintain distance, touch the brake for a moment to put ACC on hold and coast/accelerate until you complete the manoeuvre. Hit the resume button and relax. I have found this extremely useful. Just consider ACC as a "safety by convenience" feature, and don't assume the thing should to take you from toll to toll with you not being active at all. You'll appreciate it eventually.
@@karanhemani1468 not really. 1. There will be a lot of times when it doesn't hit the brakes, especially in sparsely populated multi-lanes. 2. Dumb CC doesn't let you take it easy with the steering, whereas ACC works alongside lane keep assist helping you relax on straight lines 3. ACC also reduces speed automatically in corners where your set speed is too much
Thanks for the following 1. Highly educative 2. Excellent presentations by both of you 3. You really have understood the Indian conditions 4. Most of the issues you raised in our conditions were also mulling in my mind 5. I give 10/10 score
Very excellent topic. Even i was searching thr same since long. Very informative. Apprehending such scenario of indian driving and traffic patterns especially the emergency brakes applied during overtaking by ADAS enable vehicle I decided to purchase the XUV 3xO AX-5 varient instead of AX5 Luxury varient as the car is always in my control. Only one important feature I miss in my varient is the auto dimming IRVM. Thanks for your information and excellent video. Subscribe ur channel 😊
1. Use all these feature on roads you are fully aware. 2. If you have to use these features use them in a good highway but not aware what to expect stick to 80 Kmph and use middle lane. 3. Use these features only on 3 lane (one side) highways.
While ADAS is built for additional safety, Honda has totally missed the sensitivity of Indian traffic. The CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) actually ends up hurting people as much as saving. Traffic in India is so dense that the car keeps on auto braking abruptly at every detection, which ends up hurting people sitting inside the car. Due to sudden braking, I have personally seen people getting whiplash injuries from their seatbelt, senior citizens getting injured and kids could also get hurt. If you have hot food in your hand, even that can spill on you and you can get injured. Also, with continuous traffic and recurring sudden braking, the car is at a high risk of getting hit by the traffic behind; again; hurting the passengers. Even if they have given the option to turn off the CMBS, it turns itself on every time you restart the car. It is not reasonable to expect to remember to turn it off every time you start the car. It is not reasonable to also expect the hired drivers to turn the system off every time they start the car. Honda must give the option to keep the CMBS turned off at all times unless the driver wants to turn it on. The current design of auto turn-off has already put my family and other occupants of my car at high risk, and it will do so with others as well. This issue must be raised to the authorities as well. Commonsense and safety go hand in hand. Please consider carefully before buying this car with this feature. This is my personal opinion and not some paid campaign.
Hve city hybrid. 10kph adas doesn’t activate. N it keeps distance to minimal at setting 1 like most car will not cross but 2 wheeler will sure come. But I am able to drive sedately now n know it doesn’t activate if I drive like that. So I have very minimal interference
Everyone keeps complaining about ADAS in indian scenario unless n until they face some serious, panic situation where human intervention simply couldn't make the car to stop . Adas is utmost importance,, when it'll democratized then only even the cheap cars can calibrate the system to Indian driving n road conditions🎉
@zigwheels The Phantom cameraman didn't do anything , that's the issue but he hogged the spotlight in entire video, leaving viewers glued to their screens, expecting some grand reveal. Instead, all he did was make the car ride feel like a rollercoaster and steal 99% of the show without saying much. ;)😂

Well that still is Indian driving conditions. Call it what it is.
I think in India, road discipline needs to be adapted prior to ADAS.
Very much true 😂

That’s a great way to put it.
So basically use adaptive cruise control as a regular dumb cruise control?

One of the best video on ADAS for Indian conditions
We pay more toll fees but most of the highways are bad…
Make a video on how to tune/adjust ADAS on Indian cars to make it useful
The back seat Clone of Driver side host is very annoying, please don't allow him NXT time....
Ok that description is funny but what did he do wrong 😅

Ok sir sorry😢
Super reasoning
We need to start calling India friendly condition to 'chaos'
When can we expect ADAS Level 6 ?
You'll probably end up stuck at a single point.
@kushagraN why?
I think ADAS is good for highway not for city
In city speed not more then 30kmph
Hyundai Creta, ADAS works extremely well, i use it even in bumper to bumper banglaore traffic when tired.
Are these guys brothers?
Do they have similar facial features or am I just dumb?
You are just dumb
Hahaha, maybe distant relatives
