This product is a hit. Tell me any other car which ticks all the boxes at once. VW Skoda is the most affordable brand in the long term. Driving dynamics is second to none. The built lasts long as always, its safety is second to none. And getting it serviced is also very easy. After owning Polo for 11 years and Slavia for 2 years without any issue in both, its a no brainer car.
Where are the showrooms. Nearest showroom for me is 50 KM. People fail to understand that there are tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Skoda has 250 showrooms. Spares are costly, service is costly, mileage I have seen in my own eyes it is a single digit in Automatic. I can see maximum 6000 sales per month (being too optimistic). Normal people give 0 value to driving dynamics. All they want is a machine which goes from position A to B with good mileage, easy to service, cheap to maintain and easy to sell.
@VikasJaink nearest Skoda showroom for me is 100kms away. One opened in my city was closed due to low sales. Before buying I did feel the pain but after owning it doesn't pain much as you need to visit service once or twice a year. I have been an owner of a VW Skoda for more than 10 years, and the need for spares only arises after 10 years. First 7-8 years you will hardly face any issues. And if maintain car properly, you will only need to replace the consumable items. Their spares are slightly expensive but then they last long as well. You get a peace of mind that you are owning a reliable product. You can also use after market spares which cost less for non critical parts but the life offered by VW parts is unparalleled. I have been using Slavia automatic for last 2 years as well. The long term average is around 13kmpl. But then I have a heavy and aggressive foot. I have even extracted 20+ Kmpl average on 1.0L automatic. And I have seen single digit mileage in extreme traffic jams. The problem lies with tyre pressure, if you keep front 33 and back 35 in winters and 32 and 34 in summers, you will enjoy 16-17+kmpl average on highways easily. Skoda and VW cars seem costly from a distance but in the long term they are much cheaper to own.
True, they have the 1.2 NA that comes with the Amaze that puts out 90hp and they also have 1.0l turbo 3 cyl with 120hp, they have it in City RS in Thailand. I think they should bring this engine in the upper models of a sub 4m vehicle. It would make so much sense and it will sell way better than elevate. Nothing matches the reliability of the vtechs.
I drive a kushaq for 3 years now, camera though low in res actually does the job really well for me and also the static guide lines is fairly accurate and helps me park the car at our tight apartment parking. Never faced any problem.

Hi guys, Appreciate this detailed breakdown of the Kylaq. After test driving the XUV 3XO, Nexon, Sonet and Venue over the past month, I had pretty much decided to go for the first fully automatic variant of the Sonet until a week ago. Then decided to wait until the full pricing of Kylaq was revealed on Dec 2. On seeing the price list, I finally decided to book the Signature + variant of Kylaq. Still waiting to check out the car up close as it is not yet on display. Would appreciate any suggestions or advice here, between the fully automatic DCT offering of the Sonet and the Skoda Kylaq (which is falling in the same price range) which would you suggest going for, all things considered? Thanks & regards, Rohan
You guys rock man with the deep car dynamics know how. Why can’t Volkswagen/Skoda come up with smart hybrid technology that Maruti/toyota has? Remember Maruti now focusing on GNCAP 5 ⭐️ rating now. We all maruti’s NA engines for the smoothness. Definitely these German/czeck cars are going to be in trouble if they give less than 10 kmpl mileage
Panelist incorrectly says at 21:36 that India is the only market with Sub 4 meter cars .Japan has Kei class where LxW and even engine capacity is fixed at 0.6 ltrs to qualify for this class.
The side profile of the car like most of the sub 4 meter is not the best. The smart way of doing it is by putting a spare wheel on the backdoor like Ecosport. That makes the car feel longer and helps in the proportions. I don't know why many cars don't follow it...may be you also get a deep boot because of moving the spare wheel out.
Tailgate mounted wheels come with certain catches. The tailgate gets more expensive since it has to be more load bearing and it also opens sideways which has issues with usability. Engineers also have to factor in how it affects the car’s balance as it’s a payload outside the chassis
Nope, front discs only but not a negative as long as the brakes function as intended. Even the Kushaq manages strong braking performance with front only discs
I was leaning towards Honda elevate one more no nonsense , no unnecessary electronics cladded pure engineering vehicle. Mainly for practical boot space, drivability, trusted safe body car. Now I am thinking should I wait as this has similar practicality compromising with size but saves some bucks..
I like the car very much, mileage can be managable but the only thing bothering me is Rear seat comfort. Compare to 3XO legroom is very tight and rear Head room as well

There was a point i was getting bored. My take before completing your video is that if one wants a city car, the Brezza is better specially those models with microhybrid technology. If you want a highway car, both Kylaq and XUV are good. Both are also fun to drive. If you want an all rounder then it is Sonet. If you are looking at a diesel car for highways (safety), get Nexon. That is my assessment for the middle class. Among the users who frequently use car on the highway or the city traffic is rolling at least, then Kylaq is the best car.
And, you will miss the incomparable longer wheelbase and the consequent unlimited legroom of Kushaq in Kylaq. The longer wheelbase gives the Kushaq the amazing flying effect on highways.
Great car! The only problem I feel is that city traffic is going wild, and turbocharged engines perform less efficiently in cities with heavy traffic than naturally aspirated engines (of Maruti Suzuki). Coming to the issues like; Lag and Low-Speed Response, Fuel Efficiency, Heat Management, Reliability/ Wear & tear. I understand all these Turbos are great for highways, but what about this city issue.
I have a question: I'm looking to purchase a car and wondering if I should go for a second-hand Polo GT TSI, where well-maintained and less driven cars are being offered for 7-8 lakhs in Bengaluru, or if I should opt for the base variant of the Skoda kylaq, which is priced on-road above 9 lakhs? in bengaluru @zigwheels
Yeah they have maintained nice rear and boot where 3xo lacks a bit just 360 camera was a miss which I think they will give to new variants after kushaq facelift next year otherwise kushaq will feel outdated 😂
Problem is in the service of vw skoda... They are always a NO NO to repair any part in these cars.. they just replace.. which tends to be very expensive as per the car value ratio... Which is very sad ... I noticed most of the cars with them have a problem with there gear box over the time.. at least the DSG... Which is again costly to replace
Style of sitting is very regressive . Discussion is more on linguistic capabilities rather then technical progress of Skoda. Seems general discussion wo knowledge of engine and offers any technical insight. Nothing on fuel efficiency ?. Deration on high altitude.? Service cost ? No practical inputs .

But two (or more) people discussing a subject/product (aka a podcast) is certainly not something pioneered by anyone in the automotive space. I still dont understand what thought process they are having, keeping the prices and variant bifurcation in mind. Really disappointed with this ridiculous prizes of Skoda. And then they will cry, saying The sales are not going up despite of doing so much efforts for Indian market #PowerDrift #skoda #Kylaq
I feel they are going to lose on the fuel efficiency front. The 1 litre engine is not fuel efficient when it comes to city driving conditions. I feel anyone buying a car in this segment will have fuel efficiency as one of the top criterion
Nexon top end with the leather seats is actually poorer in cabin space!.. I hear the fabric seat models are slightly better.. 3XO is unmatched in cabin space by anyone yet though..
Inhe aur bhi engine option dene chahiye the..har koi fun ke liye car nahi leta h.. aur yaha jadatar city me hi drive karte h log to avg bhi chaiye rahta h..isi fun to drive ke chakkar me hi upper nikal rhe log yaha to.. fun ke liye to us jese Highways chaiye..
8:13 Not all are 6 feet, if one can advance 2 points of the front seats you will have ample rear. Its an engineer aspect that they have provided adjustable steering and also electronically adjustable seats (maybe for high end) where as boot space is fixed. We need to be practical and VW/Skoda had best engineering in the world, they know what they are doing.
they have got the pricing wrong and they are going back in the last coffin they have built. I have analysed their pricing of top model of kylaq and kushaq and more or less they have just passed on GST benefit to indian consumer and given a smaller car for same factory price?

If you want a highway car, both Kylaq and XUV are good. Both are also fun to drive. If you want an all rounder then it is Sonet. If you are looking at a diesel car for highways (safety), get Nexon. That is my assessment for the middle class. Among the users who frequently use car on the highway or the city traffic is rolling at least, then Kylaq is the best car.
In my opinion, it's just a smaller kushaq. If you want to buy the kushaq, but want to save some money, buy this.
Am I correct, Tushar?
At its core, it’s a Kushaq 1-litre with a little less cabin space and a smaller boot.
@zigwheels thanks
And, you will miss the incomparable longer wheelbase and the consequent unlimited legroom of Kushaq in Kylaq.
The longer wheelbase gives the Kushaq the amazing flying effect on highways.
Boot space due to round edge accomodates one check in size bag easily.
Insightful
I have a question: I'm looking to purchase a car and wondering if I should go for a second-hand Polo GT TSI, where well-maintained and less driven cars are being offered for 7-8 lakhs in Bengaluru, or if I should opt for the base variant of the Skoda kylaq, which is priced on-road above 9 lakhs? in bengaluru @zigwheels
Base variant won't have much features, better to wait for higher variant announcement
Go for base as only infomemt system missing .......go for it i feel
@@vinoddoit01better to wait and gather money than live with no infotainment
It has checked the marketing box when everyone is talking about it as much as a Tata/Mahindra car
Why did VW group change the horns of their vehicles.
They should bring that original horn.
Distinctive sound for sure
Rear window blinds is a deal breaker
In german they says fw not vw.. its folksvagen to say..
Some are made to nitpick anything VW/skoda do. These guys never discuss safety standards of other brands
i would buy the 1.5 with a dsg without thinking twice.
Kushaq 1.0 TSI does not make any sense now
Nice
Once bitten twice shy - Did you also watch the Autocar podcast?
6:05 Don't even consider 😂🔥
Boot space is good with 446 litres. They tried with 5 luggage. It was kept. I feel you are being biased here. ..
Yeah they have maintained nice rear and boot where 3xo lacks a bit just 360 camera was a miss which I think they will give to new variants after kushaq facelift next year otherwise kushaq will feel outdated 😂
Exactly
Boot space includes the space upto the glass. Actual boot space excluding that is 350 litres
Is it with a parcel tray or without?
GT TSI is another level no one can match the rocket .
What are the price expectations for non base models?
Under 10 lakh

Really good review! Respect
Much appreciated!

If you're gonna try to copy Motorinc, please don't. For this format to work, you need a much better sense of aesthetics, audio, articulation, and editing. Either carve your own niche, or just... Don't 😶
Hey, we tip our hat to the specialists and props to them for their excellent work. But two (or more) people discussing a subject/product (aka a podcast) is certainly not something pioneered by anyone in the automotive space.
We’ve made videos like this going back 5+ years but we admit, there’s a lot of work we need to do with production value
@@zigwheels Thanks for taking the feedback in a positive spirit! Hoping to see a more se*y version of your discussion video next time. Cheers
@@zigwheelsthe podcast was a pleasant change. Motorinc has its own pros and cons that I’d not like to get into. As a viewer , I welcome such videos and encourage them
Launch price is just 7.89 lakhs and they have only 3 variants. So manual top should not be more than 12.5 lakhs
Today just saw the pricing of HONDA AMAZE and really i was amazed with the price , it was bang on, SKODA should learn something , i I strongly believe Skoda's soon to leave India It was an actually overhyped product seeing the prices SKODA has announced .
The rear can also be a parallel to that of a Audi Q2
Kylaq>sonet/venue>3x0>Nexon>brezza>magnite
Guys everyone forgets Citreon C3
This sub 4 meter rule is hurting the customer and the companies that want to export these cars to other countries..
Is this type of review inspired from MotorInc?
Do something about your audio guys. Your voices are too bassy. Many parts were unclear.
Appreciate the feedback, we’ll look into this. Thank you
Time to upgrade from 1st Gen Ecosport though irreplaceable in terms of driving experience ❤…
kylaq's inferior rear seat space will further inspire buyers to go for 3xo/nexon.
It's better than Nexon, second only to 3xo but makes up for it with the boot..
Did you watch the podcast? There is no inferior seat space
Let them go
Nexon top end with the leather seats is actually poorer in cabin space!.. I hear the fabric seat models are slightly better.. 3XO is unmatched in cabin space by anyone yet though..
Skoda VW need 360 camera rest all driving pleasure
Arun Shenoy sitting posture not correct
Inhe aur bhi engine option dene chahiye the..har koi fun ke liye car nahi leta h.. aur yaha jadatar city me hi drive karte h log to avg bhi chaiye rahta h..isi fun to drive ke chakkar me hi upper nikal rhe log yaha to.. fun ke liye to us jese Highways chaiye..
1.0 TSI 3 cylinder must be replaced by 1.2 TSI 4 cylinder engine of vento.
U people are bloghing......where is leg room at rear......
Average height of Indians is 5’6”
Adequate for any Indian, but segment-best.
they have got the pricing wrong and they are going back in the last coffin they have built. I have analysed their pricing of top model of kylaq and kushaq and more or less they have just passed on GST benefit to indian consumer and given a smaller car for same factory price?
❤
Potential Kylaq Owner, you have budget of kylaq , but go for Maruti Alto and invest remaining amount of 6 to 7 lakhs in mutual fund stocks and government bond and see the magic of compounding after five years when you have a good corpus invest in a decent car
Return in govt bonds is too less
Life is not about investing only. Investing and spending on comfort can go parallel.
Theoretically you could apply this method to just about any car depending on your budget 🤣
