So I preferred the UV button I have to this release in my mind. I just did a test at 30 yrds with 12 arrows out of the Stan, then the UV. The Stan won by 13 points! I think the UV is too long and I'm more given to torque the bow with it. Props to Stan. Adjustability is great and I love the feel. I may get an onnex as well
I just ordered this release from your site. I'm really intrigued by its simplicity in form and function to use on my hunting bow. I tried going back to a wrist-style index release (Scott Little Goose II), but it no longer feels right to me having used a thumb release for so long now. I like that I can hook onto my D-loop in the dark without having to fumble with feeling the head and getting it onto the loop, etc. I'm definitely going to give this a try for sure. Edit 6/29/23: I received this today and it literally took me 15 minutes and 6 shots to get it set up to how I like it, AFTER I replaced the thumb button stand-off post (arm?) with a longer one from a different Stan hinge release (or it may even be from a Carter - I don't remember). The one that came on the Axis was too short and I couldn't comfortably wrap my thumb around it like I'm used to with my other thumb releases. I think I found my new thumb button release!!!! Josh, does Stan have an option to purchase a longer (1/8") stand-off post that inserts into the button? If so, I may have to order another release and post from you.
Awesome! I’ll have to try that one! I have the onnex click on order at your store and am anxiously awaiting coming out to Spokane to pic up my phase 4, when you call me!!😂
Thats for the perspective.I switched from an index to this one early this month. It is my first thumb button, and I love it so far. However, I ordered the thumb barrel kit so that I could have a larger barrel. I will be using it for a 3D Tournament league that starts tomorrow, and I love the fact that the possibility of me losing it in the woods is pretty much zero.
I recently had an incident with my UV hinge where it slipped out of my hand while shooting my brand new LIFT 33. Luckily the release did not hit the bow or my hand but it spooked me and now I'm looking into a hybrid release for extra peace of mind.
Only thing I don’t like about any wrist strap is that it just dangles around while hiking. I like the folding kind. Need to make that one so it can fold back out of the way when you’re not shooting.
Are you going to offer the collar for the titanium 4mm inserts like you have for the 5mm just asking because I received mine and all my broadheads have overhang witch get hung up on targets
Will this release change my tune I like the onnex but for some reason the onexx gives me a left tear compared to my cater wise choice and if I move my cams left on my lift the cam rubs on the cable
I own some hinge and thumb type but would never hunt with one and I always practice with the same release I hunt with. I've been looking at this type (strap/thumb/hinge) to replace my Stan Xtinction 2 but man, the Xtinction2 is the best index release I've ever owned. I'd like to also try the carter like mike.
I'm liking what I'm seeing in this release more and more. Thanks for the review.

Great Job Josh always a pleasure to watch I always learn something

Been shooting this release for about a month. Switched from a index release. Best release i have ever used!
I kinda wish they had an option for a wrist strap for the Onnex C. I hope they take your suggestion from the podcast and implement it!
Tru-fire wrist assist will accomplish the same thing
Clicker release for hunting? Why? 😊
Baffles me that the Onnex doesn’t have a hole or slot for any kind of lanyard.
And this release is going on my Christmas lists. Hopefully my husband will listen! 😅
I’ve been patiently waiting for this.

Man I have learned so much from watching you it’s crazy the archery guru

Been shooting the stan perfx for a couple years, this one is making me think about changing it up.
Thank you. That release peaks my interest for hunting. Open hook is big deal for fast hook ups
Looks like a sweet release.

Stan has a lot of great releases
I’ve got to try this one
That looks cool
I just got this release to change from an index. It’s night and day different. My groups were tighter and my draw seemed easier.
Seems like another great release from Stan. Wish they would have got the strike x out. Odd they revealed it at ata and then it never happened
Mmmmm damn it. I just bought the clicker 😂😂😂 this one seems cool because of the wrist strap

The man
This one is a game changer seriously
Is this identical to the size of the hinge and thumb button so that nothing needs adjusted if switching back and forth?

JOSH!!! Whats you take on the Gas Naca 200 vanes?
just out of plain curiosity what do you think about the truball trident and blade and how does it compare to the Stan axis and your other releases
when does it come back in stock?
What did you settle on?
Can i review the solex cm the hard mount release
MFJJ, do you prefer this over the onnex C?

I have this release and love it, just wish it came with a larger thumb barrel on it. Not a fan of the skinny thumb peg.
