I don't really understand the criticism that all you do is fight the same guys over and over again. I mean it's a fighting game. That's what you are supposed to do. All I do in Injustice 2 is fight people online over and over and over again. Splatoon is a different type of game with an actual single player mode. ARMS is a fighting game. That's it. Awesome review btw. Always enjoy your content. Keep it up.

"The artstyle is great and the music is great and this game has an artstyle that I like which is great, but this thing isn't great for some arbitrary reason I'm not going to explain" I would've understood if you were streaming or something, but it seems like you just started recording and didn't pre-write anything, which is very different from your beta analysis. "To my suprise it works surprisingly well!" C'mon man. You didn't actually say anything most people didn't already see with their own eyes or hear in the trailers (or didn't get during the testpunch). Hope you'll put in more effort next time.
I understand your opinion, but I don't think the lack of features is a problem, because this game have a LOT OF FEATURES FOR A FIGHTING GAME. Street Fighter V doesn't have 20% of that and people still think is the best fighting game out there. I think that this game is another atempt from Nintendo to aim at the eSports market, so they worked on the gameplay and online systems. Unfortunetly these games usually don't have content to keep the casual single player public (seems your case) interested for a long time. Great video man!
Also, fighting games, in general, are a bit more repetitive than something like a shooter or an RPG game because you're limited on where to go and stuck on a very small area.
Real talk- sf5 is fucking dead and one of the most hated fighting games out there right now. You couldn't be further from the truth. The only reason it still has a scene in tourneys and such is because Capcom is putting the money there- that's it. When long time high level players both english and japanese are calling it "obligation fighter 5" I don't think you should be praising it or trying to use it as a bar for anything unless you want some serious egg on your face.

I did not use it as an example because I like how SFV became (in fact it's the total opposite) but I organize championships in my country long enough to know how the FGC is, and as much as they curse the game they can't stop playing, is like crack
I repeat- it's because it's the biggest money scene and nothing else. I'm not saying or trying to imply that there aren't any fans period but those that show up to EVO or similar caliber events have all gone on record saying the only reason they're still playing is because that's where the money is. Guilty Gear and other games like that die out because there just isn't enough money worth investing into it. As toxic as melee is I feel like we'd have a similar situation where people would rather stick with SF4 then 5 if they had the choice.
Did you know that in the most early dev phases, Arms was developed on a Wii U dev kit using a Wii U Gamepad as the second player scree, and a Joycons prototype which were connected (with cables) to the Wii U Gamepads?

I remember there were rumors that they actually held back content for Splatoon so there wouldn't be drought of content after release. I hope they are doing the same here and have some stuff waiting on the back-burner. While it seems like kind of a skeevy business practice at first, it always keeps me coming back and I end up way more engaged than I would otherwise. That is... as long as those updates are free again.
I wonder what the next genre that will get the special "Nintendo touch" to it. Example: Mario kart brought 4 players and items to the racing genre, Splatoon with swimming in ink, etc, take a guess on smash bros and now boxing with arms. Nintendo has there ways I guess.

About the lack of content there's going to be more modes, characters, stages etc do that issue is already fixed, and just like Splatoon it's freeeeeeeee!
Lol, you're not the type to appreciate fighting games it seems. It's about the thrill of each fight! There's fighting games I stop playing for a while, and then come back to them for quick 3-minute matches here and there because of the experience as a whole... outsmarting the CPU or players, being able to finish off the round with a special attack, the character you're controlling and what they do, etc. etc. etc., and I get CRAZY replay value out of it. But on the other hand, I guess I can understand you. There's a ton of people I know that can play Mario Kart for hours... but for me, once I was done with all the cups, I didn't really care for the game anymore. Racing, to me, is just not exhilarating compared to fighting, so to each their own, I guess.
Of course from the standpoint of a random reviewer getting the game early. Thinking ARMS is a hard game make sence. Just like how you'd get your ass kicked in a fighting game you never played before. ARMS in the end got a lot of similarity with a proper fighting game. I just hope that Nintendo finds a way to show how deep the game can be so players won't just be playing online on the first week just to randomly punches and spam throws and quickly lay off the game out of frustration. This game got potential for eSport but for that. They'ill need to push the game in the right direction so it's not just perceive to be a casual party game by reviewers.
i like the music in this game.... that said, i like the title screen music, what i hate is when Nintendo just recycle the same song for like 4 charactet's stage just a little remixed, it is lazy and boring. it is a huge turn off for me. music and gameplay are what i look forward the most
I have to say...thiught this game was just some WiiSports mode as many claimed it too be. But it really is a fun game for a few rounds. Weill buy it when I buy a seconbd pair of Joy cons.
Anyone else not excited at all about this game? I have seen a lot of footage and it doesn't really do anything for me. I tried to play the demo, but as it was a timed demo and I live overseas, I couldn't even try it to have it win me over.
its a competetive fighting game it trying to enjoy a fighting game with nobody to play against is not the point its aiming for the top having a journey trying to get better and getting better basically be a tryhard now its like you dont wanna play it cuz no one is gonna play you but once you actually play people then you gonna either get into it make it a goal to master the game blablabla or you can just be casual and let it collect dust just dont say that you dont wanna play it cuz you dont feel like it, its a fighting game not meant to be played by yourself
You *WOULD* be a grab-spamming Ninjara. Also, I, as well as many others I'm sure, am much better with motion controls and find buttons to make the game nearly unplayable.

Chrisroc1 the constant stream of content is a fix for that.
But it's a fighting game. Of COURSE you punch people over and over.

Jorge Gonzalez free dlc is not dlc, you are required to download it so it's just an update, just like apps on your mobile phone.
