I just got mined delivered a few minutes ago and so far I’m digging them. I’m using them as desktop speakers. Worth the price. At this present moment. I have them hooked up to my AirPad 4 via Bluetooth. I can’t wait til February when I’ll be getting my new iMac M4 desktop. Then I’ll hooked them up to my iMac via USB C.
@WaltsTV if you were testing the system in the video and only turned off the subwoofers power and not unplugged the sub out FROM the ora, you will lose dynamic range because it thinks it's running signal to a subwoofer, and the integrated DSP will set cutoff hz ranges to the ora speakers
@WaltsTV and to answer that question, it's because if i want to be nice to the wife while I am playing music/games and she's sleeping.. I can turn off the rumble and set night mode on my system :)
Yes because the subwoofer is wired to the Ora with the amp in it! Thats part of why I like these speakers so much is there is so many options for connectivity!
Have you been able to check the ORA4? In doubt if the extra money (€ 375 vs € 490) is worth it for my desktop setup or just put the money towards a nice sub.
@@WaltsTV Thanks! In your experience they aren't too much on a small desk? Is what I read from some people. Audio is just so personal and we don't have proper Kanto retailers around here.
@WaltsTV thanks! have you tested the Adam Audio D3V? I need a pair of compact speakers for my desk setup and it's basically down to those or the Ora's. I'll be mainly using them for media consumption, but I'll also be mixing and producing music on the side. What would you recommend?
I’ve wanted to get these speakers for a while now but I’m worried they may lack volume I like a 1 man party every now and then how do you think these oras would be with say a svs sb1000 over the sub 8 ?
I personally have not heard those but I am such a fan of the ORA's that I am not even really curious to know if there is something out there in the same class that is "better". I just really really like this setup and can stand behind it for awhile.

The low stands look appropriate for the elevated desk platform my monitor sits on.
Hey thats why they have options right! Me personally I dont have an elevated monitor stand so it just looks better on the elevated stands.
Just a heads up, if you have the subwoofer powered off, but plugged in, it will set the digital balancing as if the subwoofer is on for the 2 Ora's.
Just curious why would you want to turn the sub off if you have one?

I was wondering (as my planning to connect these to my PC but also wirelessly) if the sub still works when using bluetooth ?

I say go with the ORA4s because they do sound more bass heavy and you can always add a sub in the future.

@@Naraku1987 i have mine on a smaller desk and they are fine you could also go wjth the lower profile stands
Can these be used for mixing? And would adding a subwoofer help or hurt in that context?
Yes and yes but there are people who use them for that without the sub, they are very accurate / crisp

Not sure but the Sub 8 rocks! Also they did just come out with the ORA4s which I will be doing a video on soon!
What do u think about the edifier qr65.

@@WaltsTV cool. So u think this would be amazing for pc gaming?
oh yah, and like I said you dont need the subwoofer but you can add it in the future which is exactly what I did. They sound really good on their own!
