  • Kanto has some of the best sound at affordable pricing and availability anywhere. It was really nice to get this talking point video and sound clip during the show.
Thank you - and please enjoy.

The Ren is an absolutely wonderful speaker, as are the Oras and new larger Oras. I had the chance to listen to them at AXPONA in Chicago, and I'll likely buy a pair of Rens.

Waiting for the Ren to pair with my living room TV. Likely getting another Kanto subwoofer as well for it (already have one in the bedroom with Audioengine HD3).

You Kanto leave without taking some home.
Tell 'em who came up with that ad line. 😂😂

As a follow-up, I figured that an external DAC with RCA output could bypass the 16-bit/48khz limit on the internal DAC of the Ora. So I reached out to Ora customer support and here is their response:
“When using the ORA speakers all inputs go through the DSP tuning as such the RCA would be converted to 16-bit/48kHz.”
Despite this, assuming that the Ora 4 have the same DAC, then the same will apply. Probably not a show-stopper, I’m sure they are still going to sound amazing. 👍🏻

My opinion? .. The majority of people looking to use these 1 stop-shop solutions for sound .. really don't care about all those details. ( and therefore are not intended to please the tweaky audiophile types. )
These are a very budget oriented product. We can apply the science and signal path issues to the product.. but that's not relevant to the " people " buying them on the majority. People buying dSC gear can be that picky ..sure. Kanto .. that's barking up the wrong tree ... imo.
If it matters for you .. that's great you know how to get answers .. but it doesn't take anything away from the design for the intended demographic. .. imo .

@@psyphonyxaudio I don't want tons of gear on my desktop, so the Sub8 underfoot and the Ora's on the small stands as wide apart as I can plugged in via USB works PERFECTLY for my needs. Would I put them in my living room? Not what I bought them for. Question:if I put the sub in a similar shelving unit as in the video, would that be a terrible idea? I'm in a 10x10 office.

“Same USB DAC” on the Ora 4. That is disappointing considering the current Ora is only 16-bit-48khz.

Are the new REN speakers better then the old TUK speakers?

    • @psyphonyxaudio

To my ears... Yes. I like their balance more in that room.
Not very conclusive.. but for that short demo... I like their character of sound.
No such thing as 'better' . you have to listen and decide that.
