I went back and looked at season 7 when Anakin goes and commits a war crime when they are under the bridge and it clearly this one. Comparing to the other troopers who also have jet packs it’s much dark and has that same color scheme. It just may have been more noticeable in the light on mandalore but this is for sure the same jet pack before mandalore.
CT-7567 looks glorious! The live-action interpretation of his sculpt is nothing less than perfect IMO. Loads of accessories that can be shared with other 501st troopers were a great touch. Give us Ahsoka and those two will be front and center of my SW display
Technically Rex is an ARC trooper though, so his armor being similar in some ways makes sense. This is why he's allowed to customize it so dramatically compared to some other clones.
I really hope that the cross-compatible macrobinoculars means they have Commander Bly on the cards. I love my old SIdeshow one, but I wouldn't mind an update!

I believe the reason his armor looks greenish is because it's more aged and weathered than even someone like Cody's who's seen quite a bit of battle himself. Rex's armor is even older than Cody's he kept his armor from phase 1 and welded the pieces of the phase 2 armor he liked to it.

It has all the specific things we’ve come to expect in this figure but for me the body type and head sculpt are the exact replica of Morrison. So overall I have to say Temura from the very beginning was the perfect person for the original clone. His overall image has become so important to Star Wars and the fact that he’s essentially represented in so many places, it’s nice to see how perfect this head sculpt and body are. I do have the Sideshow version (which is displayed with Anakin, Obi-Wan and another 501st trooper) and was waiting to see how it fared next to HT. Honestly I'm not feeling the urge to replace Rex. I agree about the floppy body. And the HT head sculpt is a definite improvement. The visual impact is very much the same, however, and I prefer the pleather kama.
I hope hot toys gives us a clone accessory pack with extra pistols and a lot of head attachments. An entire display with macrobinoculars on would be amazing looking since im pretty sure all the clones had some on umbara
I think that Rex is a little more than slightly taller than Cody. If you put them side by side standing straight up, it’s pretty evident. Not only is the helmet a factor, but also possibly the figure used for Rex and the other clones hot toys has made besides Cody. The torso seems longer, and the armor for the chest sits higher as well as opposed to Cody’s. Nonetheless super excited with both figures.
There are some parts that don’t make much sense like the blue on the pauldron, the weird green weathering, and the animated/realistic rangefinder. I’m fine with it being animated but if you are going to do an animated figure at least make it accurate to the animation. Other that that he’s quite a nice figure.
I think both versions of Rex have their place. Hot Toys hands down made an awesome live action Rex. The Sideshow one I think is a good alternative if you want a more animated style Rex. But if your looking for just one Rex to go with, Hot Toys nailed it. As a gentle reminder for those who critique HT Rex, remember that a live action Rex doesn’t exist. All things considering, they did a great job.

I know I’m late to the party. But the stock for the DC-15s blaster carbine is meant to go all the way back. It is indeed a stock. In the movies they never show any clones folding the stock, but in Clone Wars you see it a few times. Clone Commander Trauma is probably the most well known. The one commander who gets killed by Savage Oppress before he kills Jedi master Halsey and his padawan Knox.
i mean the anakin figure is taller, you can't really count the top of rex's helmet as its a helmet, so going off the visor and shoulders anakin is taller
This figure is 10/10! I too got my Rex from Toys Wonderland, and my pauldron has the sloppy blue paint in it. If Hot Toys and TW decide to do something about it great, if not it's not a deal breaker for me.
I made a rule to only have 5 hot toys at any given time. I own beskar mando with grogu, and THIS BAD BOY! hot toys is so so so so insane, man. IMMACULATE! I had to see what others said, and this video is great. But I wonder what my other 3 will be. Maybe maul, luke, bossk???? Hmmmmmmmm. this video is great!

I keep coming back to this, and I get the feeling I'm gonna regret skipping out on these clones waiting for Phase I versions.. Goddammit Hot Toys, they already have the Phase I mold
It's a superb portrait alongside a good but not great figure, imo. Three fairly big issues for me: the lack of weathering of the tunic (it's far too clean compared to the armour), lack of weld lines on the cheek of his helmet and the significant colour difference between the white of Rex's armour when compared to the 501st figures (doesn't look right when they're posed next to each other, and I don't think it's screen accurate).
I plan to customize my Rex changing the helmet and pauldron, maybe even the kama. I’m surprised they didn’t color the soles of the feet like the 501st trooper and I Rex just has a different color jet pack in season 7 even before he gets to Mandalor
I’ve got the Sideshow Commander Wolffe figure and he looks awesome of course, but I always felt like parts of him felt a little weak and even had the antenna break. Is this figure higher quality and would he be the same scale next to my Wolffe?
Just ordered my Rex, only other clone Iv got is a shock trooper so don’t think they will pair well, but I’m more of trooper collector just love Rex and glad I got him :-) have mostly imperial troopers and droids, only actual characters I have is The Mandalorian and grogu, jango fett, and now captain rex
I feel like you can customize it where you can switch the sideshow rex blue and black shoulder pad and shoes or boots to the hot toys then it will be on screen accurate.. to be honest the shoulder pad and armored boots on sideshow rex is better than hot toys
Just a cool fact, the reason why the marks on the right hand are more wonky, is because clones are right handed, and he had to write those marks with his left hand
