This performance is sheer perfection indeed. Madame Julia Neumann's voice is so incredibly beautiful. Even only thinking about her interpretation of this cantata brings me tears of joy and emotion.

Mein Gott, wie lang, ach lange?
My God, how long, ah how long?
Des Jammers ist zuviel,
my misery is too much,
Ich sehe gar kein Ziel
I see no end at all
Der Schmerzen und der Sorgen!
to my sorrows and anxieties!
Dein süßer Gnadenblick
Your sweet look of mercy
Hat unter Nacht und Wolken sich verborgen,
is hidden beneath night and clouds,
Die Liebeshand zieht sich, ach! ganz zurück,
your loving hand, alas, has been completely withdrawn,
Um Trost ist mir sehr bange.
I am most anxious about my comfort.

Es wird ein Kleines sein,
it will only be for a little
Da er für bittre Zähren
before in place of your bitter tears
Den Trost- und Freudenwein
he will grant you the wine of consolation and joy

1. Recit. (S)
나의 하나님, 얼마나 오래, 얼마나 오래 인가요?
너무 많은 근심들이 있습니다.
동경과 슬픔의 끝을 전혀 보지 못합니다.
당신의 은총의 위로하는 얼굴은
밤과 구름 뒤로 숨었습니다;
당신의 사랑의 손은 이제, 아, 완전히 빼시었습니다. 저는 평안을 몹시 열망합니다.
저는 이제 이 가련한 자의 일상의 근심들을 발견합니다. 저의 눈물의 잔이 이제 가득 채워졌습니다.
기쁨의 포도주가 이제 부족합니다.
저의 확신은 거의 넘어졌습니다.
2. Aria (A, T)

던집니다. 저의 마음을 이제, 던집니다. 당신의 가장 높으신 이의 사랑하는 가슴에... 너에게 그의 자비를 주시는 그의 가슴에... 이제 모든 당신의 슬픔의 멍에,
지금까지 너가 지고 온 모든 것들을
그의 자비의 어깨 위에 내려놓아라.
5. Chorale (S, A, T, B)
비록 그가 적대하는 것처럼 보일지라도,
이것에 의해 두려워하지 마라.
왜냐하면 그가 너와 함께 할 가장 좋은 곳을
그의 습관(?)은 그것을 보이시지 않으시기에...
그의 말씀은 너를 더욱 확실한 고요함으로 데려간다. 그리고 비록 너의 마음이 단지 “안되요(no)”라고말하더라도 너가 떨지 않도록 하신다.
