Styx was my first concert!! They remain one of my favorites. Tommy Shaw (short pretty blonde) and James Young (tall blonde guy) still perform as Styx. Dennis DeYoung split from the group and re-recorded a number of Styx songs-don’t bother with those. I attended a local concert of this tour. They have so many awesome songs!
styx had 3 albums released before Kansas's first but remained undiscovered until Lady from their second album became a hit 2 and a half years after it was released. they mastered several different styles over their career and had 3 lead vocalists. deyoung shaw and young. 8 top ten singles and 4 reiple platinum albums consecutivelwith plus hits in 3 decades. not very well known down under.

Bought the record when it dropped as a kid. Been many moons ago. Good pick. Styx was a great band n then they did Mr roboto n it broke them up cuz most of the band hated it. They wanted to do rock not synthesizer drums n all that stuff. Still a great band in their early days. N the one dude singing the second part in this song from Styx joined with dude from Night Ranger n Ted Nugent n had a band called the Damn Yankees. Had a cpl big hits n then they were gone. Unfortunately, this song is about cocaine use. Listen to the lyrics again. It really is. At 5:54, Tommy Shaw exclaims “won’t you throw me a snort line”. And they’ve admitted it in interviews years later. Still an incredible band though. Regardless of their “hidden messages”, they’ll always be in my playlist.
