my magnet was either bad or the timeing was off because i changed my magnet and it used to be really hard to start and after i changed the magnet it fires right up. thanks for the informative video
Yes sometimes the magnet itself can go bad. Usually it’s because it was rubbing on the magneto at some point and it lost its magnetism. The timings shouldn’t have changed unless you did the timing key mod.
I thank you from all over my hart 2:49 the crome thing I thought it was for protection or something and I trashed it and I didn’t think it was important for spark
This is why I make these videos in the first place. We all have different views of this hobby and us having this platform to share information is just awesome! Also I hope you can notice but I spent like 2 hours editing this 13 minute video lol
@@keeganhache6667 brother the reason I watch your videos is because of the editing. I hate and can not stand when someone puts up a video and there is a bunch of useless talking or them out of the picture looking for something to use like the right size wrench or something. You edit all that out and all your talking make a point. I enjoy your videos cause they are good.
I use Cen-tech Digital Multimeter. Very inexpensive from H.F. I get nonsense reads when set at your recomended @ 200. When I switch to 2000 - it all makes sense. tested 3 coils 2 tested steady 339 ohms and one Known failure which read 77 ohms. Advise to set ohm setting @ 2000 not 200.
The end of the spark plug sometimes can have different sized ends and depending on the type of Cdi you have you may need to screw off that cap to the boot can fit on and give full spark. Also if you have a shorter plug the top of the boot might now be reaching the tip of the plug. That means to spark
Yup we all make mistakes man Not a big deal I make my own anyways we are not all perfect and I was more focused on getting a good camera angle for the viewers. I use Felpro gasket material and for a whole roll is costs only $20.
Dip the magneto in polyurethane right up to wires and hang it ro dry 24 hours. Make sure one bolt mounting it makes case contact to case and magneto and you can run that underwater to carb lol wont die.
What? I run Ngk plugs in all of my builds. I tested the magneto and it was definitely gone bad. I literally through out those china spark plugs as soon as I get them.
@@keeganhache6667 Well, Im moving out of the ktm to the programmable hpi cdi. Not to be confused with hpi rc. Want to move up from 16 to at least 22hp.
He said put the voltmeter on 200 ohms then puts it on 200k ohms! Hello? You wer on the wrong setting on your voltmeter. Should have been 2k ohms or something a little closer to the 330 ohms you were trying to read depending on the voltmeter you happen to be using. Thats why your #s are all over the place. Plus at that setting you cannot have your fingers touching the leads! Lol..its reading resistance thru your body. Wheres your dad?
Buying these Chinese cdi are trash it a hit or a miss ore deal. You want cdi ohms to 330+ with a steady number. Scratch that out you want magneto 340+ and for cdi is so variable.
great video . if i have a problem got this video to fall back on
Thanks man they will always be here 🙂

Good video brother, I learned something. I knew I was learning when my head started to hurt a little. Lol

Nice work.
I heard that standard business cards that everybody has works just perfect
you also want to smooth the contact points of the magneto, the back part of the magneto so the surface is smooth and makes good contact.
could you please drop a link to the fenders these look amazing bro 🔥🔥
You got good music man
Thanks man I appreciate it! I know it's been a while since i uploaded, been working on this lol @@keeganhache6667
Do you know how to fix your spark plug boot from sparking

Also if you have a shorter plug the top of the boot might now be reaching the tip of the plug. That means to spark
i have a Centech tester just like the one you have
Did you make ur fairing’s
Yes
as i watched this video i was thinking you'd better take of the gasket before you rip it, a minute later he says he ripped it
Yup we all make mistakes man Not a big deal I make my own anyways we are not all perfect and I was more focused on getting a good camera angle for the viewers. I use Felpro gasket material and for a whole roll is costs only $20.
Why are there No other Videos? The magneto Loop doesnt Go bad. If Something goes weak or bad, it's the Magnet itself.
Dip the magneto in polyurethane right up to wires and hang it ro dry 24 hours. Make sure one bolt mounting it makes case contact to case and magneto and you can run that underwater to carb lol wont die.
Good to know thanks for the tip!
Good informative video question where do u get ur parts from the magneto and cdi?
When you were testing your Magneto with your meter I seen a 510 and a 512 so you might want to double-check that one
They can fluctuate a lot
How to fix your spark plug, #1 dont buy xhinese shiza. Ohh that solved the problem? Carry on.
What? I run Ngk plugs in all of my builds. I tested the magneto and it was definitely gone bad. I literally through out those china spark plugs as soon as I get them.
@@keeganhache6667 Smart move. Ngk is gold. Could you adapt a ktm50 mag to it?
@@leonardarola yeah they make ktm65 ignition for the billet cases but I don’t own any of those yet. It won’t fit under the stock cover.

Newer coils suck the inside came apart.

Well I got it in the correct range of readings it’s only a cheap one doesn’t read very well lol

Yes I agree some of them are hit and miss but the bolt on setup seems to be the power storm ignition
Buy the way It won't make any difference ir you hold the contacts with your hands when taking these readings.
Why don't u test on bike?
Easy to show for video on bench
