Say I have a 44 tooth sprocket and need more low end for climbing hills, if I were to file .25-.5mm of the key and ADVANCE timing a bit, would I get some extra push? It's very mountainous where I live and I often need to go from a dead stop on a 45° hill with cars behind me, requiring a lot of pedaling to get to the top. With inertia it's not too bad but the pressure of the folks honking at me makes me want something that is just a torquey monster, though I don't want to sacrifice my 30 mph+ top speed

Did you change the jetting to compensate for the cylinder head at all? If so, what jets are you using?

Mine just keeps wetting the spark plug it wasnt doing it iparked it then it didnt start the next day

So i have nowhere near the amount of micro scratches in my cylinder as you do at 0:02 ish, i just wanna know if thats superfical. I do have a light scratch (can feel with my nail) on my piston i was wonder should i sand it down or leave it it ran fine i opened it to open the ports balance the crank and noticed the tiny scraches id say maybe 20 all round towards the bottom of the cylinder cant feel them with my nail.

Have you tried using that copper sealant or the copper spray with an exhaust gasket?

Kurt Smolik not sure what's "dragging clutch" looks or sounds like. I just turn gas ⛽ on & choke lever up Pedal a nice speed with clutch lever pulled in , When gained a nice speed ,I release or drop the clutch and most time she starts right up I let run on choke only for " it moves by itself or steady constantly feeds ⛽ to engine.. After a few minutes I turn choke lever down , Now when no gas or throttle is applied, engine will start to wine down if I don't hit the throttle or give it gas ,I have air mixture 🪛 either in towards the carb hich ," make bike run on it's on , automatic speed, with out me controlling the throttle or speed/ gas . If I turn the screw 🪛 out away from the carb It will either cut the engine off completely or slowly wine down the motor which I have to pedal and start the bike again at every 🛑.

sorry i'm late, im having this problem with the same carb on my dirtbike: it bogs and sputters with little throttle ONLY when it is warm and runs rich everything else besides the little throttle is perfect, ive tried so much things. any suggestions? running a 35 pilot with a 115 main at 6500 ft. using the bigger needle on the middle spot 1 1/2 turns out.

Keegan, talking about frames/suspension of bikes is like super important & I wonder if there's a brand/model of used bike(s) that you'd want to use in a motorized bike application? I personally do not like the "In Frame" fuel tanks only because I've seen many vibration issues that lead to a cracked weld.... allowing a leak down the road. I'd want a heavier frame bike & one that you could replace the front forks/streering w/ a better one? Ohh, very kool/kewl or cool work you do. Merry New Years

You said this is to avoid the plug firing before the piston is at TDC. Yes retarding the timing is going in that direction but the spark plug should be firing before TDC. Sounds like you know what you’re doing maybe you didn’t mean it the way you said it but I just wanted to clear things up because most people don’t understand how the ignition process works they think the spark plug fires, an explosion happens and that’s it. What is actually happening is the plug fires before TDC say -10 degrees and it takes time for the pressure to build which you want max pressure on average 10 degrees after TDC. Say this is at idle and as you increase rpm the max pressure takes longer build which is why we have ignition systems that automatically advance with rpm to fire the spark plug even further before TDC to get the max pressure back to 10 degrees after TDC. Not trying to be rude or say you don’t know what ur talking about just wanted to explain so people understand.

Seeing her outside I'm kinda thinkin' -n- wondering...... Umm, you said she was a Snow Blower motor? Should've left her together until after this video.... could have used her outside but you got the bike out in the snow. True Canadian doing your thing in all weather. I've been looking at Phantom Bikes & other people building their crap & I like the idea that a sourced Honda or like this motor is better than any od the bike berry type crapola.... So if I ever build a bike I'll be on the lookout for a Honda or other well known long lasting engine. The Chinese knock-offs are pretty bad right from their being built. You're a mechanical guy & can fix a F#@K'd motor but me, I expect the motor to run if I can like get oil/gas into her.... like if I can do that minimal stuff I'm expecting the motor to run for several thousand miles. peace & Merry New Year

My bike shudders/shakes at 1/4 throttle to half throttle .....when i go open throttle and it starts picking up speed the shaking goes away and it's smooth... I took a video of it on my channel here on youtube....i live at sea level and i even jetted down to a 60 jet...my plugs are never chocolate color and never white or gray...always dark so i think im somehow still running rich

What size headset does it need

I ran 40:1 synthetic for first msybe 10 to 20 miles then did more research and it seemed 16:1 conventional was way to go.... But now it seems both are wrong....do you think its possibly too late and the rings will never seat correctly? I probably ran 1 full gallon so far...not one tank but one full gallon

🤔 I was just thinking my generator uses a similar engine & the generator heads always wear out faster than a well maintained engine. At which point they often get thrown out....I never thought until now, that when my generator head dies after 10 to 30,000 hrs of use. I could use the engine on a bike.....Years ago, I was running out of room in a rented storage unit & threw out a working 3hp 2 stroke engine that was on a crappy snow blower. Which could have also been used on a bike.. A couple years ago, I trash picked a working 4.5hp 2 stroke snowblower. The electric starter in it broke, so they tossed it. Despite the pull start working fine. It would actually work pretty good if ported with a 2 stroke pipe on it. So it could throw more snow. Or would be fast AF on a bike. Maybe keep your eye out for free or super cheap. Non working snow blowers & generators & discarded or cheap bicycles. You could do a video, budget bike build series using free/super cheap engines. Or a free 2 stroke snowblower improvement video. Where you port it, put on an expansion pipe, better wheels,etc.... So it'll work better. Then maybe sell the bike & snowblower when finished with the build videos??? Or have a cheap really cool 2 stroke snowblower. My guess though, up in snowier Canada all the old crappy underpowered 2 stroke snowblowers were thrown out long ago.

i have this carb, swapped the jet for a 60, made sure theres no air leaks and it is bogging down at low RPM's as soon as i try to take off... im dumbfounded as to what the issue is with it??? the stock carb runs better than my new HP... PLEASE HELP!!!

Nice video but just for the comparation i ran a 0.7mm sparkplug gap and yes the oil is important never use cheap oil! I dont know the conversion but i put about 18-22ml of oil in a litre on the hot and 15-20ml on the winter and i use Ravenol 2t racing oil for karts is thick like honey and really make a difrence! Running it cold doesn't mean the pistons are more expanded, it's actually the opposite.

Actually the jest for kawasaki kvk an you find them from 50 to 200 size and are good for bofeng

Can you do a comparison of this set up vs the mz65? for sound? I know the mz65 suppose to be the better performance part, but I wanted to hear the different side by side. The flex sounds nice.

How do you know that's a 70 jet? Is there a number on it? Or is the 70 the only one that had a hex head? The rest have a slot for a flat head to go in?

So i see the 1/2" hole 15mm deep, a 3rd center hole in each crank web. Have you found this method helpful and does it work on short rod 40mm stroke cranks, long rod 40mm stroke cranks and 38mm stroke cranks?

idk for my bike engine i can push the clutch lever on engine all way then i can feel some pressure when i leave like that and allign the flower nut it either slips or tightens all itself maybe u know the issue?
