honestly yes, there's some pitfalls to being a dev and playing your own game, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. they should absolutely play their own game to feel what players are telling them.

One thing I will say about the Pummeler that I saw in this video and was kinda like "Oh, neat" was that if you blast the Huik's heatsink with it, it seems to stun it and prevent it from turning around on you. A very small bonus in the grand scheme of things, but still quite nice.

Alexus Kravchenko was the former lead game designer of Hello Neighbor 2. Working his way up from level designer of the unreleased Alpha 2, to the lead designer of the Beta and full release, he left the team right before the game came out. He removed the game's open world aspects as he said "No one would want to walk around an open world", and instead used a map labelled as a 'testmap' in the files for the full game. Alexus said that this map was in a twitch leak from tinyBuild community manager Ira, but he lied, claiming that this was not the final map. He actively removed features from the game, such as hiding under beds and certain AI tricks, as he didn't like "One-Time Gimmicks" which was a big part of the first game. When asked about the Neural Network advertised in the 2021 AI Trailer for the game, he said it was coming and then left the team, possibly to avoid further questions.

The negativity is pretty important right now. The devs need to know that we LOVE this game, but because we love it, we want it to improve, not continue down a destructive path. Keep up the great work. You have some of the keenest knowledge of the game within this community, so when you say something It's pretty safe to say you're coming from a place of substance. Hopefully the devs respond positively to your fair criticisms and the game can be better for everyone!
Devs just need to realize one thing, if people truly hate this game, they would have left the game long ago and there won't be any feedbacks for them.
Remember, things in the world are far less likely to change if people dont complain and be "negative"
It’s funny how people complain about all this negativity when the reality is the negativity is what made Sony go back on what they said I don’t even consider this negative. I just consider it realistic. The reality is you dropped a warbond that can be paid for and the first gun has identical stats to the first gun in the game and says its a high caliber weapon with less ammo and more stopping power…… in what world is that the case it doesn’t do any of that it’s not medium armor penetration negativity is not the word I would use I would use reality. The reality is whoever this main balancer is I don’t know a lot about hello neighbor two doubles he does and the point of being a balancer isn’t to make a game for you. You’re making a game for us so if we are unhappy as a community, you need to get your ego out-of-the-way and say OK we hear you we will work harder to make sure that we’re doing things the way that the players want.
I don't love this game. It used to be a really fun game, but now it's more tedious and frustrating. The only reason I'm still playing is because I'm a completionist and I want to finish unlocking everything before I take a break.
If we didn't love the game, we wouldn't have fought Sony tooth and nail for this game.
I think the dominator and the scorcher need a nerf. I can kill multiple enemies with a single resupply pickup - and that is very unhealthy for the balance of this highly competitive PvE game.
Nerf the grenade pistol also, it should have 4 grenades max and need 2 ressuply to get one back. And give the peacekeeper +1 damage

Does the pummeler do a good job at staggering enemies? Yes. Is it good at anything else? No, not really.

The fire rate is low but not so much lower than lib or standard smg.

In game dev, you frequently get smooth talkers who are great at playing politics. They are dead weight to the team yet can be protected by superiors who make them feel smart. Alexus sounds like one of those useless talkers who faked their way into their position. The weapon balancing is worse than a junior level dev.

Fixed issue where primary and secondary weapons would do damage to enemies. This is to make people more reliant on strategems to kill enemies.

You will always drop the riot shield if you impose a rag-doll effect on yourself

It was one of the very few buffs theyve given that has made me love the shield, you used to drop it during ANY ragdol effect and made it useless to bots because of the rockets

It's becoming increasingly clear that the vision that the designers at Arrowhead have for the game is way different than what players have in mind. It feels like Arrowhead wants to make a game that really feels like Starship Troopers, ie: the player always feels like they're on the back-foot during battle. Meanwhile the players want their ODST power fantasy where their small squad tears through enemy armies like tissue paper. IMO these two visions are clashing and Arrowhead is going to have to make a decision soon of if they want to stick to their guns or if they're gonna go with the audience's lead.
Honestly, you can have both; this isn't PVP. Upping the numbers and the difficulty of enemies is a possibility for them. Thus you get the rush of slaughtering tons and tons of enemies while still always feeling on the back foot.
I liked the game when we felt powerful in a challenging game. Pre Railgun nerf

The problem is two-fold, the game right now feels too easy in group play when people know what they're doing but solo can be more of a rush/challenge yet in both modes and especially solo, so many primary weapons are just not worth running compared to two in particular I won't mention here.
Since it's a PvE game you see variety and people trying stuff but part of that is also because A.) It gets boring doing the same loadout over and over
and B) The game is too easy in group play with players who know what they are doing.
The devs should be making weapons more powerful and making players feel more powerful but then adding new difficulties to really give people more of a challenge while letting weapons feel unique, and importantly, fun/viable to use.

I will be constantly finding gaps in group play with nothing to do but sit by the objective but in solo play I can't even breathe.
The difficulty should be enforced by how tough and numerous the enemies are. Not by how weak our guns and equipment are.

i like this a lot, by "more stopping power" they actually meant it's power to make you want to stop playing the game
We need new passives and it’s irritating that they don’t match the theme so here are my suggestions
Winter warrior passive suggestions:
1.Snow doesn’t slow you down as much
2. Enemies detection range decreased by 40%( blending in snow)
3. Slightly better accuracy (you don’t shiver when cold)
4. have better grip on ice (spikes on shoes)
5. Run faster and slide farther after diving on ice (spikes on shoes again)
6. Better incendiary damage ( put hand warmers in the guns(AH love fire damage))
7. Slight Damage reduction (thick fur armor) (this one is kinda a stretch)
I will kill 1B bots for a thick fur cape. The normal ones look too thin in the cold planets.
The funniest thing is that you can tell exactly which weapons are meta just by looking at the stats screen. Liberater is a flat improvement over Tenderizer, Defender is a flat buff over Liberator, and Sickle is a flat buff over Defender. I'd argue that the Pummeler is actually okay because it's better than the Lib-Concussive and is comperable to Defender with trade-offs, but balance is still a huge issue in this game.
What use is being able to stagger devastators if it takes you damn near 70% of the mag to kill one unless you hit literally all headshots
You need to know when to try to headshot them, stun helps at that but not for long range... also crouch for a moment and stop moving to avoid weapon sway makes you a headshot laser... took out 4 devastators with 1 mag. You just need to get used to a different playstyle. (30%accuracy armor buff also helps)

I want the Dev Team to play on Helldive as a full squad. Livestream. With normal weapons, not the only okay weapons, all different stratagems.
On the Devastators, if you can't hit the head, hit the waist or the arm; both are light armor and will allow you to do more consistent damage.
If Alexus think this warbond is S tier, what is an F tier warbond for him ?

3:06 4:37 - ballistic shields are dropped whenever you ragdoll yourself via dives for some reason, even though they changed it so that rockets no longer knock it away from you.
6:13 - even while they're on the ground, ballistic shields can still be broken by big enough explosions (such as eagle bombs). Your teammate probably rocket podded it or something.
... like, I really want to like the ballistic shield, but it still feels like there's just too much bullshit that goes along with it right now.

The dev comment on the warbond was certainly one of the comments of all time.
The shield is great but it still has some jank. If you get ragdolled you're usually good but if you cause the ragdoll you'll drop it often. If you have to pick something up like an Artillery shell you will drop the shield if it's in your hand but if you swap to your heavy weapon first, you will pick up the item and not drop the shield, it just moves to the back slot.
With shield, If you dive yourself and ragdoll? You drop the shield.
If you get ragdolled by an enemy or player? You hold onto the shield.
You break your arm on impact? You drop the shield.
Alright. Hear me out. What if they added armor that its passive was akimbo which did something like all one handed weapons you get two of. Which would give you double mag capacity, cause lets face it there is no way they can add a separate mag without breaking something with their spaghetti code. 15 to 20% longer to reload speed. 10 or 30% extra mags. 25 to 40% more recoil. 15 or 30% worse ergonomics. Lastly 30 to 60% higher fire rate.

Alexus failed upwards after destroying Hello Neighbor 2 by removing gameplay players liked(hiding under the bed, other AI fun tricks), laughed at the people that complained and said it's not going in the right direction, removed open world because "no one wanted to play open world"(his words, not the players) then lied about the open world map being a Twitch leak. He left 1 month before Hello Neighbor 2 released to avoid criticism and landed as lead balance for HD2. I'm certain he lied on his resume by not revealing he was responsible for Hello Neighbor 2' s abysmal recception.
We are now in the same phase in Helldivers 2 where he's nerfing fun weapons in the name of "balance", laughing at the people telling him this is not what we want, and will soon implement more stupid ideas to further cripple this game.
If he is not removed, Helldivers 2 will end up like Hello Neighbor 2. A game that could have been great, but was destroyed by idiot decisions.

The SMG is the only take away, the entire way they are looking at primary weapons needs to change and the power dynamic completely in my opinion
Adding 3 primaries every month is going to get difficult eventually. We've already got weapons that are essentially dupliates or worse versions of other weapons. I think instead of 3 primaries, they should add one primary, then somethink like a new stratagem and ship module upgrade. Im just spitballing; this could be a terrible idea, but it might help with their primary weapons conundrum.
If this trend keep up their will be a lot of weapon bloat and redundancy, and for a game that advocates horizontal balance, it will be a nightmare trying to keep all of them comparable while unique enough to feel different.
I think they want to keep Stratagems put of War Bonds.
Or just stop cranking out warbonds

Not if you're knocked back by rockets or whatever (not anymore, at least), but you'll still drop it if you ragdoll yourself by diving, for some reason.
It's a mechanic that they really need to just ditch entirely; the shield is nowhere near strong enough to justify it, and it's pretty damn silly that it can just slip off your back from a tumble anyway.
Your character will drop the Ballistic shield...
A: When you enter ragdoll state while diving downhill;
B: When you pick up the mission objective while holding the shield (If you swap to your two handed support weapon before collecting the mission objective you will NOT drop the shield);
C: -Sometimes- When you enter ragdoll state after being exploded or being near an explosion;
Blocking explosive enemy atks (EG: Tank turret shots) will BREAK the shield forcing you call down a replacement.
Hope to see more Shield matches being played, ballistic shenanigans was my go to in early game while grinding towards slugger and scorcher.
The devs need to add the survey feature, like in Killing Floor 2, so community could guid game progress in the right way.

Actually this new SMG and the free SMG perform basically the same. The mini stun is an extra but actually does not make much of a difference. This warbond:
1 - Same Liberator
2 - Same SMG
3 - Same Scorcher
4 - Same Granade
5 - Only the pistol is unique with am 8 magzines that probably will be nerfed to 5.
should be "same but worse" but accurate none the less.
The whole situation with the balance team strikes me as people over valuing effects and thus going overboard with the downsides. They act like medium pen and stumbling/stunning enemies are such big deals in a horde shooter that you have to have major downsides to compensate. I’m already fighting light and medium enemies constantly this isn’t like stunning a boss on DRG.
It's genuinely saddening to see a beautiful game that has amazing graphics, great gameplay loop, and excellent lore and atmosphere be slowly destroyed from within by a separate team of people led by a director who destroyed another game with his so called "balance"
the only real reason i wanted the new warbond is because of the blue cape, whoever made that did a phenomenal job, that cape is frickin awesome

The Tenderizer, on stats alone, unless there is a typo and it is med. arm. pen. and not light, is just a slight variation on the standard Liberator... 😮💨
Funniest part is, tenderizer is supposedly "high caliber with great stopping power"
liberator is supposed to be an all-rounder, so less stopping power.
yet it is objectively better at everything, including stopping power!

0:46 Part of the appeal of this game is that the enemies aren’t all super-strong - there’s just a lot of them. Making the game more difficult by nerfing weapons is exactly the same as making it more difficult by increasing enemy HP.
Mass Effect has different ammo types : armor piercing, incendiary, cryo, disruptor, etc. 1 gun with choice of ammo
You can stun 1 guy for eternity. The rest of his friends will have their way with you in the meantime though.

i agree, poler needs an snow walk passiv boost, about 50 to 100% better movment to the non winter.
