Imagine Luigi's Mansion but entirely in Peach's Castle. A heavily expanded and updated version of what was in Mario 64. Maybe he could even go to a few of the worlds from that game. A nostalgic game that fits and works and is great for all sorts of references.
I'm just sad we never got an original game with Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask 3D's engine. Those games are gorgeous on the Nintendo 3DS, and seeing a completely new game with that engine would've been really awesome. As for sequels, I'd say Animal Crossing and Kid Icarus: Uprising

I just realised that Kid Icarus: Uprising is my favourite game of all time. Like, I've been back and forth between Wind Waker, Pokemon Crystal, Xenoblade Chronicles (and X) for ages now, but I always forgot about Uprising. I have never enjoyed a game as much as that one. I clocked in 150 hours into that thing! A KID ICARUS GAME!

And I think it's fair that a lot of people didn't like the controls, but it's a shame people ignore the surprisingly large scope with 25 completely unique levels that each even has a unique boss, the gameplay that provides a unique take on the third-person shooter, the story that's simultaneously hilarious and epic and makes up for the series' 20 year absence by jamming three games into one, the massive amount of replayability the difficulty system and weapon crafting provide, and the amazing soundtrack. But I totally get why it didn't get a sequel. Sakurai went all out, so it was probably really expensive to make, and less than 2 million was probably not enough to consider it a success. Plus Sakurai was working on Smash 4, and they might be reluctant to do another one without him. But I really hope they give the game another shot with an HD remaster, because I think the biggest thing holding people back from the 3DS version was the control scheme, so releasing it on a system with two sticks might get people to finally appreciate the rest of the game.

Uprising is one of my favorite games and it's a darn shame it hasn't been revisited. Every Nintendo news round I say "If we only got Kid Icarus then I would be more happy than I've ever been."

The Rhythm Thief, though I should probably explain why for those who haven't played it. to summarize it up: it's a rhythm game that rarely reuses mechanics in the main story but there are hard mode versions of each game, but it has puzzle mechanics in the Overworld. The visual are really good,the story is such a good mystery, and the music...... I honestly cannot put into words why it is so good but if you want to hear it for yourself the entirety of the soundtrack is on RUclips. I feel any game deserve the sequel it should be this beautiful, beautiful gem

Funny that Luigis Mansion is getting a 3ds remake when the switch is a year and a half old. Also, simpler mario and zelda games can still exist on the switch: as download games.

I'm left handed and the left handed mode is IMO better than the right handed mode. Though I'm a fighting game fan so I'm used to using 8-directional movement.
Y'know, I agree with these games being deserving of sequels... Except for Super Mario 3D Land. Super Mario 64 DS PROVED that a sandbox style 3D Mario in the style of Super Mario 64 was possible on the original DS, and with the hardware having shifted farther forward with the 3DS, they could've went to Super Mario Sunshine levels of good, but they didn't, and that's a little bothersome. Especially with the fact the 3DS has a circle pad to allow for full analog movement that the DS couldn't exactly allow (although I personally wasn't bothered by Super Mario 64 DS's controls, unlike most). Super Mario 3D Land itself isn't bad from a game design perspective, but when it all comes down, I DON'T see "being handheld" as an excuse for Super Mario 3D Land to have been as it was. As a result, I feel, as an experiment, it was fine as a one time only thing, but does it deserve a sequel? No. At least not in my opinion. When I look for simple, brainless Mario fun, it's usually in the 2D games, not the 3D ones.
I honestly would have agreed with you Until you realize that Super Mario 64 DS didn't have the console in mind which made it kinda... stale. I agree with the "being handheld" not being an excuse, but thats not it. It's that they could actually make it be a perfect game for a handheld since it has actually the console in mind. For example, lets say that I'm playing Super Mario 3D Land just for a bit of fun. I could do like 3 or something levels and take 12 minutes. That's PERFECT for a handheld like the 3ds. Yes I am dissapointed that Super Mario 3D Land was pretty linear, but I am really happy that it wasn't risky. Super Mario 64 DS was risky A LOT which brought in new mechanics that really kinda sucked. I think you know where I'm going with this. No I'm not saying that 3D Land didn't have bad mechanics because it had some, but it wasn't as bad as using luigi's backflip skip for EVERYTHING which made me HATE Super Mario 64 DS. To sum it up, yes I do believe that 3D Land was not risky and had the console in mind, so I'm personally fine with a sequel as long it still had the console in mind and it was on the DS.

although it is capable of doing it, it really wouldn't be a good port. Since the analog stick is gone it wont have as tight of controls which is one of the most important part of sunshine. Since the tight controls are gone they would have to cut or change ALOT of the game which will just be bad
James McCune but the problem is that when they HAD analog control, they didn't even try to do what they tried with Super Mario 64 DS, and did pretty good with, and it's not that it isn't sandbox that makes it bad, it's that it lacks dialogue, actual boss battle variety (and I said variety because 64 and 64 DS bosses are not that good), and 3D Land's physics engine was broken beyond repair and I had a hard time playing the game when I look for a *handheld* 3D Mario game, I look to both have fun and to hack it, and thus, was severely disappointed in 3D Land, I was looking to make a good hack and have fun, 3D Land didn't meet any of those standards, it's not possible to make a good hack with 3D Land, as it lacks dialogue to make it *story driven* and I can't do *any* bosses of any kind in said mod because the only bosses that awful game seems to offer *share the exact same code* just with different models, and as I said earlier about the horrible physics engine, it always feels like it's lagging for some reason, not to mention the game tries enforcing 8-directional input on the player, thus, when I accidentally slide the thumbpad by a 1-degree angle, it forces the player into a 45 degree turn, causing for massive screw ups when trying to walk across a skinny pole, 3D Land is actually bad from a game design stand point in my personal opinion because of the severe flaws the engine had, also, jumping felt unnatural and way too heavy and it takes way too long to jump on a friggin rocky wrench which should not take more than a few seconds and also after jumping on it, it causes the player to jump and because Mario ate way too much spaghetti off screen before 3D Land started, he's so friggin slow and heavy and I can't save myself and I wind up falling down the cliff, Mario in 3D Land is slower than fat Banjo in Banjo Kazooi Nuts and Bolts, also, playing 3D Land just isn't fun because of how stiff the Player is n the game in general, and this doesn't relate to the engine but there are several parts in the game clearly designed for you to use a specific power up and they don't even provide it so I have to go all the way back to one of the first levels, play it all over again, get the power ups I need, and go back to the level I was previously on, and hope to gawd I don't lose that power up or it's back up before I make it back to the part where I need the specific power up because of the gosh dang engine, and why do I *need* the specific power up there? so I can 100% the gosh dang game because if I don't and I share my negative opinion on it, 3D Land fans will be all up my azz claiming I didn't give the game a fair chance, it took over a whole year, but I finally collected every single fecking star coin and completed every normal and special world level, but geeez the awful controls and engine made that an absolute chore to do, now I have to go back and play every normal and special level as both Mario and Luigi just so I can unlock World 8 Crown, complete World 8 Crown, and then I should finally be allowed to have my friggin opinion, right? 3D Land is, hands down, the worst game I have ever played in my life, I am not kidding, I am not over exaggerating my thoughts on it, it is, the *WORST* game I have ever played in my life, period

I remember super Mario 3D land was one of the first games I ever played on my og 3DS, sold it like an idiot at 14 and now at 19 and in college I got a new one. I’ve been playing Star Fox 64 3D, Pokémon crystal, Sun, and Smash 4 non stop since.
In all fairness we haven't gotten a new entry in that series for close to 9 years, they definitely used to oversaturate it, but they've massively slowed down with it these days

Fantasy Life, it is amazing, i've spent more than 200+ hours on this game, online co-op is still alive, there are great discord serves for the game, really good dlc, just amazing, BUT, no sequel, except a mobile game... I hope they make a new one on switch, the game is beautifull.
Yeah except the hosts either have terrible wi-fi or live too far from you. You have better luck shooting at nothing than chasing a player's ghost! If you're wondering if my wi-fi is solid, I got the best plan available with a router built for offices.
Jetskizze There’s only two games, one on the Nintendo 64 and one on the Wii, both are on the Wii U virtual console though. I haven’t played the first one, but from what I can tell, the second is only really a departure in terms of a story that has almost nothing to do with the previous game, and changes to the mechanics like hovering which makes it play more like what kid Icarus uprising’s flight stages would later become, and. I’ve been meaning to go back to the first one, but from what I’ve heard, the sequel is better, if only because of the instantaneous wiimote pointer controls. If a sequel would actually happen, I would only hope that it maintains the motion control option for aiming and maintains the variety and creativity of the first two’s levels.
Maybe the reason is because it wasn’t even released in all regions, as an Australian I remember seeing previews and reviews saying how good it was then found out I was expected to import it
Josiah Vock But that’s more an effect than a cause. The game’s failure in terms of sales was due to a lot of things, like the Wii’s largely casual market, and the series isn’t iconic, even in comparison to other hardcore Wii games like Punchout and Metroid.
Imagine if Luigi's mansion 3 tied in with odyssey, and had the hat ghosts turning evil and possessing different animals and objects to try and wreak havoc. I can just imagine the title being similar to yoshi's island. "Luigi's Mansion : Super Mario Odyssey 2"

Regular Random Person I loved that it used only characters in the public domain. I was in a Miiverse thread once where we were thinking about a sequel using only British characters, since these were all from American works / lore.
I picked up Kid Icarus after Chugga Conroy started his lets play of it and I was really impressed by it. Its great fun to play and its characters are just a joy to experience from start to finish.
Rubber Warlock The problem for me is the booth version is too small for the vacuum. I hold the thing in any way possible, to my side, my front, like a normal light gun, the connection ALWAYS breaks and gets me killed. It sucks, like they designed a Wii game but forced you to play in an area a Wiimote doesn't have space for the IR sensor to work right. And it sucks more because when it WORKS it's really fun. But that idiotic booth design makes me yearn for the stand up version and also makes me go "Fuck this, Time Crisis 5 is right there."

Kid Icarus Uprising may be my favourite game on the 3DS. Almost everything about it was amazing. The multiplayer was really really cool, too! My only negative thing to say about it is that I wish it wouldn't take 15 years for a sequel.

I got Kid Icarus Uprising when I was 12 and found out my mom had lung cancer. Super stressful time in my life, and that game gave me such a wonderful escape. The story had me entranced, and the repeatability kept me coming back over and over. It's portability let me bring it everywhere between being dragged to doctor's appointments. Seriously one of my favorite games ever. If you have a 3ds and don't own this game, get it.
Kid Icarus uprising needs a sequel! It is hands down in my top 10 favorite games on the 3ds. Pokemon releases too frequently. Personally I think it can use a longer development cycle. Metroid needs more games.... flat out... Same for 3d and 2d zeldas personally I would like a mix of the two moving forward. If they do so I would be happy. Personally I would like to see Ice Climbers get the same treatment as Kid Icarus, but I don't know where they would take it. Maybe a sort of Tomb Raider route or something? Tomb Raider on the Switch would be nice XD. Luigis mansion could be cool. Personally I didnt really care about Nintendogs, but I guess if it could move some sales then it should join this massive roster of games too. I think kid icarus didn't get a sequel mostly because it didn't sold as much as they espected. They hyped the game a lot, even going to make 3 anime shorts to promote it. And even if the launch was incredible ( there weren't enough 3ds to play all the games sold) After that the seels were pretty low. Is still one of the game that launched the sistem, even nintendo said it; but the franchise low popularity and the akward control scheme caused is downfall. Nintendo dosen't seem to have totally forgot about it, they made a special sale of all the kid icarus product for the game fifth anniversary. But overall is still a very unknown IP, i think we'll have to wait a while for the sequel.
Haven't played many 3DS games, but I think some other Nintendo games that could use the "Kid Icarus: Uprising" treatment. Nintendo could revive one of their many old games and make it into something that might as well be a new IP. Ice Climber, Mach Rider, Mole Mania, and Baloon Fight to name a few

We really need another Kid Icarus. Uprising was one of my favorite games for the 3DS and it was so addicting. I feel bad that Arlo didn’t get to experience the multiplayer because it was really fun and wild. It’s amazing how much content Sakurari packed in that game.
Hands down id like to say zelda but kid ikarus uprising is my favorite Nintendo game hands down my favorite IP. The story was seriously well crafted, honestly best story Ive played in ANY game and this comes from a huge kingdom hearts fan. The dialogue was so fun to listen to and the gameplay was rock solid. Honestly il buy a re master but a second kid ikarus game would blow my mind. Heck Id buy it, beat it and trash all my games, sell my switch and never download a game on my phone or mac and never play another game again because none would be worthy...
Fun trivia. Kid Icarus was made by the same development team as Metroid. Zero Mission had an homage to it, in the 3 "unknown items". They are the same thing as the "sacred treasures" in Kid Icarus (the original that is, not Uprising). They have different names and look different but have the same function. Infinite jump, underwater travel, and shots that pierce enemies. Kid Icarus is like Metroid's long lost (fraternal) twin brother.
Federation force looks fun. It just doesn't look... metroid? What if they made a new series featuring miis or new characters with a similar gameplay style? Would people hate it then?
Kid Icarus on the Switch does sound amazing. Other M was like a 3rd person action/adventure with a protagonist that shoots projectiles. It didn’t quite work so we can recycle some of the stuff Samus did there to Pit as I can’t think of another Nintendo game of this genre. Also with no stylus controls the game could be played less awkwardly (I never managed to feel comfortable with Kid Icarus’ controls).
Link Between Worlds was a remake so it's hard for them to stray too far map and story wise. I loved, loved this game. But I think you're right, with Breath of the Wild out there, I don't think we'll see another top down Zelda for a while. If we do, it'll probably be a remake

I love Kid Icarus Uprising so much. Such a delightful gem of a game. I would love any sort of sequel or port to Switch, but I believe Mr. Sakurai said that he doesn't want to make a sequel. His team put everything they had into it, and see no reason to keep churning out more content for a complete package. A little depressing, but commendable all the same.

At this point if any of these titles got a sequel on the 3DS i'll be disappointed. I know Nintendo said that they're going to keep supporting the 3DS, but to me everything I do handheld now is on the Switch. I love the 3DS and its a great system, but the Switch blew both the Wii U and 3DS to the side when it got released. Why settle for a 3DS title when you can get a crazy HD version of Uprising 2 on the switch that you can also take on the go? Yes Please!
Im not saying they should ditch the 3DS entirely, theres obviously still a market for it. However, I still think they should focus moving their normal handheld games to the switch. Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Fire emblem, etc.. The 3DS is pretty old at this point, and while I love it, putting new titles like this JUST on 3DS would be a huge waste. If they want to keep supporting both systems, they should do what Warriors does and make a 3DS port of the console game that is less graphically intensive.
I wished after Sun and Moon they would make a Diamond/Pearl remakes like ORAS. The first Pokémon (main series) game on the DS to be the last Major 3DS title. The underground mining and multiplayer capture the flag. It would have made my inner 7 year old jump for joy

Any time the game comes up, the conversation seems to be dominated by one topic: the controls. And I think it's fair that a lot of people didn't like the controls, but it's a shame people ignore the surprisingly large scope with 25 completely unique levels that each even has a unique boss, the gameplay that provides a unique take on the third-person shooter, the story that's simultaneously hilarious and epic and makes up for the series' 20 year absence by jamming three games into one, the massive amount of replayability the difficulty system and weapon crafting provide, and the amazing soundtrack.
But I totally get why it didn't get a sequel. Sakurai went all out, so it was probably really expensive to make, and less than 2 million was probably not enough to consider it a success. Plus Sakurai was working on Smash 4, and they might be reluctant to do another one without him.
But I really hope they give the game another shot with an HD remaster, because I think the biggest thing holding people back from the 3DS version was the control scheme, so releasing it on a system with two sticks might get people to finally appreciate the rest of the game.

to summarize it up: it's a rhythm game that rarely reuses mechanics in the main story but there are hard mode versions of each game, but it has puzzle mechanics in the Overworld. The visual are really good,the story is such a good mystery, and the music...... I honestly cannot put into words why it is so good but if you want to hear it for yourself the entirety of the soundtrack is on RUclips. I feel any game deserve the sequel it should be this beautiful, beautiful gem

Y'know, I agree with these games being deserving of sequels...
Except for Super Mario 3D Land. Super Mario 64 DS PROVED that a sandbox style 3D Mario in the style of Super Mario 64 was possible on the original DS, and with the hardware having shifted farther forward with the 3DS, they could've went to Super Mario Sunshine levels of good, but they didn't, and that's a little bothersome. Especially with the fact the 3DS has a circle pad to allow for full analog movement that the DS couldn't exactly allow (although I personally wasn't bothered by Super Mario 64 DS's controls, unlike most). Super Mario 3D Land itself isn't bad from a game design perspective, but when it all comes down, I DON'T see "being handheld" as an excuse for Super Mario 3D Land to have been as it was. As a result, I feel, as an experiment, it was fine as a one time only thing, but does it deserve a sequel? No. At least not in my opinion. When I look for simple, brainless Mario fun, it's usually in the 2D games, not the 3D ones.

Until you realize that Super Mario 64 DS didn't have the console in mind which made it kinda... stale. I agree with the "being handheld" not being an excuse, but thats not it. It's that they could actually make it be a perfect game for a handheld since it has actually the console in mind. For example, lets say that I'm playing Super Mario 3D Land just for a bit of fun. I could do like 3 or something levels and take 12 minutes. That's PERFECT for a handheld like the 3ds. Yes I am dissapointed that Super Mario 3D Land was pretty linear, but I am really happy that it wasn't risky. Super Mario 64 DS was risky A LOT which brought in new mechanics that really kinda sucked. I think you know where I'm going with this. No I'm not saying that 3D Land didn't have bad mechanics because it had some, but it wasn't as bad as using luigi's backflip skip for EVERYTHING which made me HATE Super Mario 64 DS. To sum it up,
yes I do believe that 3D Land was not risky and had the console in mind, so I'm personally fine with a sequel as long it still had the console in mind and it was on the DS.

although it is capable of doing it, it really wouldn't be a good port. Since the analog stick is gone it wont have as tight of controls which is one of the most important part of sunshine. Since the tight controls are gone they would have to cut or change ALOT of the game which will just be bad
James McCune but the problem is that when they HAD analog control, they didn't even try to do what they tried with Super Mario 64 DS, and did pretty good with, and it's not that it isn't sandbox that makes it bad, it's that it lacks dialogue, actual boss battle variety (and I said variety because 64 and 64 DS bosses are not that good), and 3D Land's physics engine was broken beyond repair and I had a hard time playing the game
when I look for a *handheld* 3D Mario game, I look to both have fun and to hack it, and thus, was severely disappointed in 3D Land, I was looking to make a good hack and have fun, 3D Land didn't meet any of those standards, it's not possible to make a good hack with 3D Land, as it lacks dialogue to make it *story driven* and I can't do *any* bosses of any kind in said mod because the only bosses that awful game seems to offer *share the exact same code* just with different models, and as I said earlier about the horrible physics engine, it always feels like it's lagging for some reason, not to mention the game tries enforcing 8-directional input on the player, thus, when I accidentally slide the thumbpad by a 1-degree angle, it forces the player into a 45 degree turn, causing for massive screw ups when trying to walk across a skinny pole, 3D Land is actually bad from a game design stand point in my personal opinion because of the severe flaws the engine had, also, jumping felt unnatural and way too heavy and it takes way too long to jump on a friggin rocky wrench which should not take more than a few seconds and also after jumping on it, it causes the player to jump and because Mario ate way too much spaghetti off screen before 3D Land started, he's so friggin slow and heavy and I can't save myself and I wind up falling down the cliff, Mario in 3D Land is slower than fat Banjo in Banjo Kazooi Nuts and Bolts, also, playing 3D Land just isn't fun because of how stiff the Player is n the game in general, and this doesn't relate to the engine but there are several parts in the game clearly designed for you to use a specific power up and they don't even provide it so I have to go all the way back to one of the first levels, play it all over again, get the power ups I need, and go back to the level I was previously on, and hope to gawd I don't lose that power up or it's back up before I make it back to the part where I need the specific power up because of the gosh dang engine, and why do I *need* the specific power up there? so I can 100% the gosh dang game because if I don't and I share my negative opinion on it, 3D Land fans will be all up my azz claiming I didn't give the game a fair chance, it took over a whole year, but I finally collected every single fecking star coin and completed every normal and special world level, but geeez the awful controls and engine made that an absolute chore to do, now I have to go back and play every normal and special level as both Mario and Luigi just so I can unlock World 8 Crown, complete World 8 Crown, and then I should finally be allowed to have my friggin opinion, right? 3D Land is, hands down, the worst game I have ever played in my life, I am not kidding, I am not over exaggerating my thoughts on it, it is, the *WORST* game I have ever played in my life, period

Fantasy Life, it is amazing, i've spent more than 200+ hours on this game, online co-op is still alive, there are great discord serves for the game, really good dlc, just amazing, BUT, no sequel, except a mobile game... I hope they make a new one on switch, the game is beautifull.

Jetskizze There’s only two games, one on the Nintendo 64 and one on the Wii, both are on the Wii U virtual console though. I haven’t played the first one, but from what I can tell, the second is only really a departure in terms of a story that has almost nothing to do with the previous game, and changes to the mechanics like hovering which makes it play more like what kid Icarus uprising’s flight stages would later become, and. I’ve been meaning to go back to the first one, but from what I’ve heard, the sequel is better, if only because of the instantaneous wiimote pointer controls. If a sequel would actually happen, I would only hope that it maintains the motion control option for aiming and maintains the variety and creativity of the first two’s levels.
Maybe the reason is because it wasn’t even released in all regions, as an Australian I remember seeing previews and reviews saying how good it was then found out I was expected to import it
Josiah Vock But that’s more an effect than a cause. The game’s failure in terms of sales was due to a lot of things, like the Wii’s largely casual market, and the series isn’t iconic, even in comparison to other hardcore Wii games like Punchout and Metroid.

I loved that it used only characters in the public domain. I was in a Miiverse thread once where we were thinking about a sequel using only British characters, since these were all from American works / lore.
I picked up Kid Icarus after Chugga Conroy started his lets play of it and I was really impressed by it. Its great fun to play and its characters are just a joy to experience from start to finish.

Rubber Warlock The problem for me is the booth version is too small for the vacuum. I hold the thing in any way possible, to my side, my front, like a normal light gun, the connection ALWAYS breaks and gets me killed.
It sucks, like they designed a Wii game but forced you to play in an area a Wiimote doesn't have space for the IR sensor to work right. And it sucks more because when it WORKS it's really fun.
But that idiotic booth design makes me yearn for the stand up version and also makes me go "Fuck this, Time Crisis 5 is right there."

Kid Icarus Uprising may be my favourite game on the 3DS. Almost everything about it was amazing. The multiplayer was really really cool, too! My only negative thing to say about it is that I wish it wouldn't take 15 years for a sequel.

I got Kid Icarus Uprising when I was 12 and found out my mom had lung cancer. Super stressful time in my life, and that game gave me such a wonderful escape. The story had me entranced, and the repeatability kept me coming back over and over. It's portability let me bring it everywhere between being dragged to doctor's appointments. Seriously one of my favorite games ever. If you have a 3ds and don't own this game, get it.

Kid Icarus uprising needs a sequel! It is hands down in my top 10 favorite games on the 3ds. Pokemon releases too frequently. Personally I think it can use a longer development cycle. Metroid needs more games.... flat out... Same for 3d and 2d zeldas personally I would like a mix of the two moving forward. If they do so I would be happy. Personally I would like to see Ice Climbers get the same treatment as Kid Icarus, but I don't know where they would take it. Maybe a sort of Tomb Raider route or something? Tomb Raider on the Switch would be nice XD. Luigis mansion could be cool. Personally I didnt really care about Nintendogs, but I guess if it could move some sales then it should join this massive roster of games too. Personally at this point, I can mainly just ask for Smash and the games I have already suggested, well and F-zero... and Mega Man, seriously Nintendo get the blue bomber XD

Is still one of the game that launched the sistem, even nintendo said it; but the franchise low popularity and the akward control scheme caused is downfall. Nintendo dosen't seem to have totally forgot about it, they made a special sale of all the kid icarus product for the game fifth anniversary. But overall is still a very unknown IP, i think we'll have to wait a while for the sequel.

Haven't played many 3DS games, but I think some other Nintendo games that could use the "Kid Icarus: Uprising" treatment. Nintendo could revive one of their many old games and make it into something that might as well be a new IP.

I would be fine with a New Leaf sequel, as long as it built more on the elements in the first game. Not like Happy Home Designer which was too different to be classified as a sequel.
I'd rather wait and get that sequel on Switch. And I would have wanted it much more for Wii U before the Switch's reveal. So I've never really wanted a 3DS sequel to ACNL
Nah, New Leaf was pretty weak in the series, IMO. I hope that they fix the problems that it had when they release a game on the Switch, i.e. the dialogue.

We really need another Kid Icarus. Uprising was one of my favorite games for the 3DS and it was so addicting. I feel bad that Arlo didn’t get to experience the multiplayer because it was really fun and wild. It’s amazing how much content Sakurari packed in that game.

Hands down id like to say zelda but kid ikarus uprising is my favorite Nintendo game hands down my favorite IP.
The story was seriously well crafted, honestly best story Ive played in ANY game and this comes from a huge kingdom hearts fan. The dialogue was so fun to listen to and the gameplay was rock solid.
Honestly il buy a re master but a second kid ikarus game would blow my mind. Heck Id buy it, beat it and trash all my games, sell my switch and never download a game on my phone or mac and never play another game again because none would be worthy...
Haven't watched yet but KID ICARUS UPRISING definitely needs a sequel.

Fun trivia. Kid Icarus was made by the same development team as Metroid. Zero Mission had an homage to it, in the 3 "unknown items". They are the same thing as the "sacred treasures" in Kid Icarus (the original that is, not Uprising). They have different names and look different but have the same function. Infinite jump, underwater travel, and shots that pierce enemies. Kid Icarus is like Metroid's long lost (fraternal) twin brother.

Kid Icarus on the Switch does sound amazing. Other M was like a 3rd person action/adventure with a protagonist that shoots projectiles. It didn’t quite work so we can recycle some of the stuff Samus did there to Pit as I can’t think of another Nintendo game of this genre. Also with no stylus controls the game could be played less awkwardly (I never managed to feel comfortable with Kid Icarus’ controls).
Link Between Worlds was a remake so it's hard for them to stray too far map and story wise. I loved, loved this game. But I think you're right, with Breath of the Wild out there, I don't think we'll see another top down Zelda for a while. If we do, it'll probably be a remake

I love Kid Icarus Uprising so much. Such a delightful gem of a game. I would love any sort of sequel or port to Switch, but I believe Mr. Sakurai said that he doesn't want to make a sequel. His team put everything they had into it, and see no reason to keep churning out more content for a complete package. A little depressing, but commendable all the same.

9:14 Heard of Ever Oasis? That has to be the most visually stunning 3DS game ever. The graphics are just so clean, so cartoony, and the scenery is otherworldly. I thought for /sure/ that game was going to be on this list as it NEEDS a sequel, but alas, it's just not popular enough...

At this point if any of these titles got a sequel on the 3DS i'll be disappointed. I know Nintendo said that they're going to keep supporting the 3DS, but to me everything I do handheld now is on the Switch. I love the 3DS and its a great system, but the Switch blew both the Wii U and 3DS to the side when it got released. Why settle for a 3DS title when you can get a crazy HD version of Uprising 2 on the switch that you can also take on the go? Yes Please!
Not everyone has a Switch
Im not saying they should ditch the 3DS entirely, theres obviously still a market for it. However, I still think they should focus moving their normal handheld games to the switch. Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Fire emblem, etc.. The 3DS is pretty old at this point, and while I love it, putting new titles like this JUST on 3DS would be a huge waste. If they want to keep supporting both systems, they should do what Warriors does and make a 3DS port of the console game that is less graphically intensive.

I wished after Sun and Moon they would make a Diamond/Pearl remakes like ORAS. The first Pokémon (main series) game on the DS to be the last Major 3DS title. The underground mining and multiplayer capture the flag. It would have made my inner 7 year old jump for joy
I literally got a 3DS for Christmas. How perfect that was very much so easy.
