Alex, thank you for your very thorough reviews. Even though I do not plan to take my kayak into the surf, stability is important to me (I'm not as young and athletic as I used to be). This video convinced me to go with the Big Fish 108 as my first pedal kayak. If I didn't see it, I wouldn't have believed it! I think it will suit my needs greatly, and I will keep on watching. Thank you for keeping those of us who may not have the best access to all the new boats out there informed regarding what is available, and how it handles on the water.

I have a Big Fish 120, I am 6’3”, 250 lbs. As soon as I learned how to rock with the waves, and took
the Human error element out of the equation, it definitely is almost unflappably.

Right on!!!! This is a real test!!! I have to launch in these conditions all the time and some kayaks are really unsafe. You are seriously convincing me on this particular kayak and the 3 waters should have a huge appreciation for you showing what this rig is capable of. As soon as you got kicked it rolled you, that is what always happens you need to maintain a straight attack when getting outside the surf zone. I have said all along that these pedal drive systems need to be single movement engage. You don't get more than half a second to make adjustments sometimes. Thanks for this REAL demonstration.

The best for all kayak test review is to do it launching and stability test in the sea not in the calm glass water ( even a pcs of plywood would be stabil) lol.

This was probably the best video that I’ve seen on the 3 Waters Big Fish kayaks. I don’t have enough room to store the Big Fish 108 during the winters, but after watching your videos I ordered a Big Fish 103. I think 3 Waters kayaks should give you a commission or something, because I’ll bet that I’m not the only one going out and buying one of these after watching your videos. Wow Aliex ,that underwater footage & sound, triggered a horrifying flash back that happened to me yrs ago with my Jackson Yellowjacket Coosa - Torqueedo 103 combo, the instant shock of a heavy vessel, with heavy gear,suddenly flipping & youre under it, & it happens so fast you inhale water, in a panic. Finally hacking , & gagging enough, to gather your lungs & senses back while clinging on to the yaks side, & then you come to grips with not being able to flip it back over, with so much tightly bungied down in water so deep. Feeling around as best as possible for my air horn & whistle, no boats in sight even if I had found either of them! Scary stuff my guy, the scariest ive seen in fact. . . Oh yeah, ummmm? What else? . . . ummmm?. . . . . . .oh yeah! YOURE CRAZY DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!! Like. . . . . . . for real CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. . . & F*CKN dedicated!!!!!!! #smdh #jesuschristbro #smdhx2

That is what I wanted to see. Those waves are about 300kj I would say, not much punch, but it stills a very impressive performance. When you went for the second round pedaling, and put the paddle away I thought "he is going to flip on the third wave". Incredible how well it tracks against the waves by the rudder only. The trihull cuts the surf surprisingly well, it seems that the higher walls are an advantage on that scenario too. Thanks for that review, that is my intended use.

This is a real honest review. Thanks Aliex. I have one question to ask.. I’ve seen yr other video it has 8 scupper hole but how does it work? Do you need to leave open the main scupper when on rough sea? I can can only see it can only be open from below and nothing on the deck..
The holes are there, underneath the standing deck, it drains quickly
Aliex Folgueira do u need to leave the holes open or close? If you leave it open the water will not going in? Like other kayaks scupper hole u need to leave it open when at sea so it can flow out but will not suck in water

That was sick. It confirms what I already kinda knew. Waves are going to flip you. I prefer an inflatable paddle board in this scenario because you are getting wet no matter what and an inflatable SUP is not going to kill you if you get smacked by it. Those waves are the norm here in So Cal. That kayak looks like it would be great if you want a rock solid platform.

@@AliexFolgueira ok you’re right. I suppose a kayak designed to roll would be the best choice. I was thinking along the lines of a fishing kayak. My buddies just went out on an open ocean trip and despite calm conditions there was a capsize and some broken toes ( I stayed home for this reason). Fishing wise I think a bigger boat is the right choice on the ocean. Love your videos though.

I have been waiting for this review. Thank you. How do you feel about the drive. States a 12:1 compression ratio. Did you feel the boat was quick enough and responsive enough in the surf? I am looking at this for an all around boat for waterways and oceans 1-3 miles off shore. Your thoughts and thank you again.
The design of the kayak makes it easier to move on the water considering how wide it is, you can cruise on this boat at 3mph easy so are you OK with peddling for 1 hour to your spot?

Haha I was talking with my wife yesterday about music, I haven used music in my videos for like 2 years, it would take me extra hours to edit the songs in and that I'm probably leaving ton of views on the table because music is a win win for us, if viewers like it they watch longer. Saw that short clip and had to watch the whole video again. My fishing buddy has that same Yak and the only Con that we could find is the weight. Is freaking heavy but SUPER STABLE for sure. He loves my 106 MK because at the end of the day i end up towing him to the boat launch LOL! Are you gonna review the new Big Fish 103? I heard that is like 25LBS lighter but does it have the same stability?

Looks like a great lake boat, ocean not so much. Tough conditions, poor kayak choice - but glad you're ok and otherwise I really like this kayak and think it will take off for a lot of people.

I would like to see you fish from this kayak out at sea. I want to know what you think of it both pros/cons.
My belief right now that this might be too short for the ocean, therefore the waves might make it too difficult to fish from versus the longer (more expensive) pedal kayaks.
BUT I hope I am wrong. So PLEASE make the video.
