Jirard doesn't know about attack cooldowns. And seeing that nobody's told him, I'm not sure who else knows about them.
The bad nether spawns may have been a blessing in disguise, I don't think they're ready yet.
I'm pretty sure they know about it. They probably just haven't noticed that Jirard isn't doing it right.
@@EightThreeEight That is most likely _exactly_ what is going on. Your attack animation's might be fast when you spam click in first person view, but in third person view the game will not restart the attack animation again if the previous one hasn't finished yet, so the others cannot see that he is spam clicking.
Jirard needs an iron sword too
I know that they talked about it in previous seasons of MC HC. That isn't saying much though since I think Chad was the only one besides PBG who was in one of those episodes. The others seem to know things about Minecraft though so I assume most probably know.
I always appreciate Todd's narrations and comments throughout the season.

I love that Shane clearly knows the most about the game but is just kinda silently helping out 80% of the time. A kind soul.

I've watched this entire series 3 times and everytime I think that Jirard is going to die, not only the moment itself but the editing that Todd did is perfect
Those netherportal locations are wild. I'm not a huge MC player but my god I've never seen one that bad, let alone two in a row.

I'm honestly glad the first reaction to seeing a basalt delta was "nope" from everyone who went in, those places SUCK in anything other than creative

What worries me is that jirard nearly died in a basic combat encounter. He has got to learn not to spam that attack.

@@Jordan3DS Worth noting that the people in the show don't ever take it as seriously as the viewers do. Peebs and a couple others have said multiple times in the past that the goal of Hardcore never is to specifically win, it's to be entertaining.
It's probably why in the past they only ever had McJones be the one knowledgeable about a lot of things Minecraft. Sure, if everyone knew as much as he did, they'd be winning more frequently or making more progress much faster, but it probably wouldn't be as fun to watch.
Hardcore is fun because of how different all the players are. Some more in the know and some who are very casual.
@@oddyquinn i can see this but at the same time i think it’s less watchable when people die so early. i know the risk of them dying is part of the thrill, but when they’re so inexperienced and thus die very early in the series it sucks. sort of wish they had more lives or something just to make it easier on them

@@sapphire5934 You're acting as if it's frequent that players die in the first couple episodes. It's not "less watchable" just because someone potentially dies early, that point makes no sense. And the idea of making it easier for them, whether it be giving them extra lives or anything else, defeats the whole purpose of the series. It's supposed to be difficult to win. It's supposed to be a series where they'll fail a lot.
Heck, a couple times, Todd admitted to increasing the spawns of Endermen in order to speed the series along, and Minecraft Season 6 had a lot of backlash for what was perceived as Todd giving them handicaps, on top of the additional life given to the players.
The point is: Winning is not the goal, and the players never really considered it as such. The series is merely supposed to be entertaining, and winning is a bonus. The fans of Hardcore will always have a much better time if they stop taking the series so seriously.
I felt so caught off-guard by the music at the end there. Had a moment where I was like 'am I in Rabanastre again? I finished that relic step!'

Unlucky that the spawn area is caught in a Basalt Delta. That's like, one of the worst nether biomes to spawn in, at least in my opinion. Soul Sand Valleys are obviously also a no go, but everything else is doable.
Best area I think are the forests. Warped Probably best because you only have to deal with Endermen and maybe a Ghast.
@@some-guy-in-the-internet Well Chad wasn't being all that smart sadly. He should of been under a tree and not out in the open.
@@ShadowEclipex There wasn't much he could do his death was very sudden and running to a tree instead of blocking was also dangerous
What's wrong with Soul Sand Valleys?
Soul Sand Valleys are great imho. Lots of land, no lava, manageable enemies. The soul sand itself is annoying, but I'll take that over lava any day, and I'll also take skeletons over hoglins or magma cubes in a second. Obviously nether wastes is optimal, but I don't mind valleys at all.
I was so tense during that fight, I'm not ready for another death.

It's funny how they call it a redemption, considering that aside from Minecraft 1, Jirard was victorious in every other hardcore season he's appeared in.
I know from a previous episode this was pre-recorded however if another hardcore series is done people should know ocelots (wild cats) do eat chickens. They're fine in this series because there isn't anything to climb above the fence like vines.
They also aren't anywhere near a jungle so there is 0% chance Ocelots will show up at their house.
Foxes also kill chickens, but they'd need to be near a spruce forest to have to worry about that.
@@DaNintendude There was an ocelot earlier in the series. Someone said the chickens needed a roof where as Lucahjin said they don't so I was informing them for next time. Also completely forgot about foxes.

@@Malfy70 It wasn't tamed so I'm still assuming it's an ocelot. When they are tamed they turn into one of several cat patterns and from what I remember it wasn't any of them.
Cats have been separate from Ocelots for a few updates now. Ocelots can no longer be tamed, as cats are their own thing that spawn in villages.
The editing on this series is perfect! Credit to the editor making this easy to get immersed into the world.
There are more of this series with the same editor on one of Peebs' channels if you haven't seen them already. If you like the editing, I definitely recommend you check them out!

@@Pupppeteer Todd has only started editing the series since Minecraft 5 btw. The earlier seasons were edited by PBG before being replaced by SpaceHamster and then finally Todd

Jirard is doing a really good job of observing the Nether to report back to the others! Without a good spawn, surviving the Nether (especially the new Nether) is IMPOSSIBLE.

I'm so sad to see Chad Dead!!! He was one of the reasons I started watching this series!!! But oh well. I'm still invested to see where this adventure goes!!! This is one of my favorite series on youtube right now!!!
I highly suggest watching all the other hardcore series on PBG Gameplay. This is the first season where it's hosted by Normal Boots' channel. It's been around since like 2013

I consider building portals out in the open riskier than indoors because mobs can wander into them, and, how ironic would be to enter the Nether and immediately be blown away in bits by a creeper that just happened to cluelessly wander into it last night…
You want a balance. You want it blocked off so overworld mobs don't enter (though in my experience, that's not very common). But you also don't want it in your base because nether mobs can come through (and they used to spawn zombie pigmen, though idk if that's the same with zombified piglins since the nether update). So you want it in its own building
That title scared me. Made me think someone would say that than immediately die afterwards.
NOTE: the original title was "I Should Be Dead!", but has now been changed to "Portal Shenanigans", probably because it spoils the tension of the ending by resolving it.

Generally though, so long as the torches are on the block below the roof layer and sufficiently spaced apart that shouldn't be a problem

No? That’s right. Unless we’re missing something. For every 8 blocks traveled in the normal Minecraft world you travel 1 block in the Nether. That’s why they had to travel such a large distance when placing portals.

Its cool to watch this as I'm playing the new 1.17 update, I haven't played minecraft since like 2015 and the update got me to download it again. I just found my first amethyst geode, not sure if this was recorded post 1.17 but I hope you guys get too see the new stuff too!
Seeing how the 1.17 update was released on June 8 and this series started airing on May 19, I can guarantee you this was not recorded post-1.17.
What usually happens in an HC season, is all 7 are there for a little while, 1 dies, then the 6 don't last long, someone else dies soon after. When there's 5 people, nobody dies for a long time. 4 people and 3 people dont last very long (with the exception of terraria 2), then two people will last a long time. The series ends with either two surviving (like MC 1), one person almost defeating the boss, then dying (like mcjones in terraria 2), or two people fighting the boss and dying (PBG and Jeff in terraria 1). Let's see how this one turns out!

@@LimesChannel Nobody has ever died to lava immediately after entering the Nether. There have, however, been incidents where a player has fallen into lava while trying to exit the Nether (that happened to PBG and Dodger in Minecraft 6).
