I am so happy I was part of the Sumter, South Carolina movement during the era. I went to jail at the age of 12. I was along with my sisters and friends sitting at a lunch corner where we were refused a bit to eat. Thank you Dr. King, I have 5 beautiful daughters who are successful which include a daughter who is a pilot for United Airlines, a Captain . Another one a journalist for USA today. Thank you Dr. King. A daughter who owns her SPA in Atlanta voted the best in Atlanta. Thank you Dr. King Two other daughters who lives with a great education. Thank you Dr. King. Amen. His voice and way of speaking is something I can only dream about. If I ever get to the point where I can speak to others with even 50% of this clarity, I will use my voice to its fullest capacity. Our voices can ring so loud when we use them in a way that honors God. He was a vessel, but he had the technical skill to carry out His message in such a powerful way that reached millions of Hearts. He will have been gone from us 55 years shortly, but his words are still as relevant today as they were when spoke them and instill in the heart of the hearer the courage to wage his own personal battle wherever he sees wrong. I remember the day MLK was assinated. I was young and from Harlem. I remember looking out the window and seeing cars burning and people crying and hearing the anguish and suffering as he was the Civil Rights movement. To think the Black people were brought over in chains, enslaved, hung, beaten, raped, families separated. America after giving them freedom still refused to treat them like citizens. White people did not want to see them excell since it took away they saw the Black man as unintelligent. Why is it alot of People feel superior ? I miss him so much, even I never met him, he died long before my time, but for me is like his death were very recent, mainly because today would be his ninenieth first anniversary.

He could still be alive today...I cry when I think about what was stolen from us all when they took this man away from us.

I remember the day MLK was assinated. I was young and from Harlem. I remember looking out the window and seeing cars burning and people crying and hearing the anguish and suffering as he was the Civil Rights movement. To think the Black people were brought over in chains, enslaved, hung, beaten, raped, families separated. America after giving them freedom still refused to treat them like citizens. White people did not want to see them excell since it took away they saw the Black man as unintelligent. Why is it alot of People feel superior ? Now with this Admin of Trump im seeing the hatred of us vs them.
vicky naz Dr. King was the moral rudder on the ship of America. His was a message of victory over hatred and bigotry with unyielding love and radical nonviolence. Not only was he a champion of racial equality, he was a champion of the poor and oppressed. I wonder what he would say about the gap between the powerful rich and the neglected poor.

Judging by the eloquence of your writing, I would guess you arent even part of that category anyway, so why would you even bring that up? As for wanting to feel more superior, and slavery, I only see one party pushing that around on a regular basis in the 21st century, and its not the accused party.
Vicky, "such people" (i.e. people like the killers of dr king) do not really feel superior, they are simply afraid to lose something they do - & can not own & thus are lost in their ignorance ... !!!
