See seven short films about MLK and the civil rights movement in his time: ruclips.net/p/PLJE9rmV1-0uAk8ex7JratUR5GX-LGP8lZ
These films were created together with an exhibit at the Nobel Prize Museum called "A Right to Freedom". nobelprizemuseum.se/en/a-right-to-freedom-martin-luther-king-jr/
Martin Luther King Jr's life and work were a fascinating part of an important stage of 20th-century history. His fight contributed to several important legislative changes and other advancements. His dreams, ideas and ability to express them seem timeless. And his ideas extend far beyond his own time and the society in which he lived.

His voice and way of speaking is something I can only dream about. If I ever get to the point where I can speak to others with even 50% of this clarity, I will use my voice to its fullest capacity. Our voices can ring so loud when we use them in a way that honors God. He was a vessel, but he had the technical skill to carry out His message in such a powerful way that reached millions of Hearts. It’s a blessing.

There is this quote by Horace Mann that absolutely fascinates me "Be ashamed to to die until you have won some victory for humanity" I have been keeping a list of people who have accomplished this and MLK is by the far the greatest to have made my list of people. There is a wisdom, a control over his emotions, a true love for people, and a dream he spreads to the world. He is perhaps the most remarkable person to have walked this earth. He lived a great life, full of purpose, he will forever inspire and move people.

"Nobody with any sense loves to go to jail. But if he puts you in jail, you go in and transform it from a dungeon of shame to a haven of freedom and human dignity."

Doctor King is great, but you do insult to some other really great people as well. J'eanne D'Arc, Emily Davison, Gandhi, Sir Isaac Newton, Confucius, Nancy Wake, and many more. Our history is a rich tapestry of heroic and revolutionary deeds, and Doctor King has definitely earned his place among them.

I remember the day MLK was assinated. I was young and from Harlem. I remember looking out the window and seeing cars burning and people crying and hearing the anguish and suffering as he was the Civil Rights movement. To think the Black people were brought over in chains, enslaved, hung, beaten, raped, families separated. America after giving them freedom still refused to treat them like citizens. White people did not want to see them excell since it took away they saw the Black man as unintelligent. Why is it alot of People feel superior ? Now with this Admin of Trump im seeing the hatred of us vs them.

vicky naz Dr. King was the moral rudder on the ship of America. His was a message of victory over hatred and bigotry with unyielding love and radical nonviolence. Not only was he a champion of racial equality, he was a champion of the poor and oppressed. I wonder what he would say about the gap between the powerful rich and the neglected poor.

If you dont go around flashing guns at people and supporting unnecessary drama and you wont be in the "them" category. Judging by the eloquence of your writing, I would guess you arent even part of that category anyway, so why would you even bring that up? As for wanting to feel more superior, and slavery, I only see one party pushing that around on a regular basis in the 21st century, and its not the accused party.

Vicky, "such people" (i.e. people like the killers of dr king) do not really feel superior, they are simply afraid to lose something they do - & can not own & thus are lost in their ignorance ... !!!
