  • Even though one of my G80s died recently (Panasonic is fixing it), I wanted to set one up in the cage rig. I still need to have one G80 completely naked for vlogging and the occasional bit of photography, so I did the only logical thing I could do. I bought another one.
I still have a few things I need to tweak on this setup, but I've had a few people on Facebook asking me how I plan to set this up, so I decided to make a video. I've also had people asking me about the Desview R5 HDMI monitor, so consider this an introductory overview to that (I'll have a full review on DIYP soon).

    24:53 - Wrapping up
It seems that the power options I was experiencing with the DC output from the monitor are camera-specific. I tested later with my Nikon DSLRs and the Panasonic GX80 and it had no problem powering them. I also tested the Feelworld F6 Plus with the G80 and that wouldn't power it, either. Interestingly, I could power the G80 using the Type-C USB power cables shown in a previous video without issue. So, I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
Power any camera from USB - • Power ANY DSLR or mirr...
I still haven't managed to figure out what's going on with the LUTs. I think the LUT storage inside the monitor has become corrupted somehow, and I don't see a way to completely reset it. Hopefully, Desview will be able to offer a solution.
Update: So, apparently the Desview R5 doesn't like the 33-point LUT files exported from Resolve, but it has no problem with the 65-point LUT files and they look fantastic! Also, if you're having issues loading LUT files, try a different memory card. The one that came supplied with my R5 was damaged. A new SD card solved the issue.
