Dropped my key last month smashed open to pieces just put it back together and it wouldn't open up. Left it running with the key in for 10 mins good as gold 😊
This is fantastic, warmed my key on the radiator until fairly hot to touch and it came alive, great tip to get you out of trouble but the long term solution is to resolder a battery in yourself,,, fairly simple task once you get into the fob.
0:39 There might be the end of a clip about there then enables opening the key. This looks similar to a Focus key. I have the blue key for the previous Transit, someone else had luck with an induction charger. The only one he had charges his toothbrush. Mine has water in it.
hi m8, been out the country for a month and it appears my battery is flat Transit Custon 2015, i can access the bonnet to charge battery but key fob doesnt open the doors! need access to can and the ignition. Any ideas apart from break glass on quarter light window to put key into ignition??????? Help
@@aaanton11 No access with a key through driver and passenger doors. I managed to open the bonnet with key, transit custom ltd 2015. Put a charge to the fuse board which made the fob go live, then opened door to put key to ignition then jump started. Happy dayz! if it helps anyone out👍
You can open these up with circlip pliers but then you just need to superglue it back together again.done this myself..you can then get to the circuit board if you need to solder or even change the battery!
If you go into your display settings and make sure 'global unlock' is seleceted under 'locks' the key will open all doors. You may have to tern it to the left twice within a few seconds. To lock all doors and set immobiliser turn to right twice in a few seconds..
My key was dead as well but the problem was the 2nd battery in the car. After changing the car battery, the key is charging again and works like new. So you may try this. It was cheaper than ordering a new key!
Thanks for the video, but you can in fact open the key and change the battery, although most of the times when you open them it’s that the wire has simply moved inside, and that is the cause, and the remote will start straight away.
I have a problem with my alarm on the transit. I turn the ignition on and the alarm goes off. I turn the ignition off and it stops??? Is this the key fob????
Get your 12V batteries checked out by an expert first before doing anything. I've just got off the carousel of "try this, then try that", all to no avail. Changed key battery, changed key receiver around the ignition...made no difference. One battery was stuffed but was being 'masked" by the good battery helping out. The two batteries under the seat are wired in parallel, one primary for cranking and the other primarily for ancillaries/accessories including the central locking. All error messages gone, remotes work just like brand new!! Starts every time!!!

Thank you for the advice I was having trouble with my key it wouldn't open so gave it a couple of minutes under hair dryer worked a treat but now I'm wondering about the winter because it didn't work even with new batteryCheers Tippo. UK.GB.
Same problem with my key, fords wanted £330 for a new key.................... I'm gonna try to put the key on the radiator to see if i can get it back to life.............
I use my key daily. It's still died. Won't charge. You can take the button's off the fob, sadly doesn't reveal anything. Two little plastic tabs where the key flips from. Pop those and the buttons come off. Quickly double turn the key left to open all doors. You'll hear the back doors unlock.
Barrels in locks are knackered, probably haven’t been used in 10 years. Battery in fob is dead, no issues with connection of battery to rest of key. Van hasn’t moved in 4 months. 🤬🤬
I just drove from Cornwall to Chester. Approx 300 miles..? Parked up and got out of the van. Went to click the button on the remote and nothing happened. Tried again. Failure. So have had to resort to manually locking the Van. Drove back to Cornwall and still no charge in key fob. Again. Manual locking. Next day I opened up the key fob. It has a 3v 2020 coin battery in it. Next problem is that the battery is sealed to a flimsy metallic connector. So it isn't a simple case of changing the 2020 coin battery. Ford dealer priced me up a new one at £120.....Then said it would have to be electronically matched up between key & vehicle. Cost, approx £70.....! Seen battery on internet with attached flimsy metallic connection for £6.99. Simple soldering job, then glue the fob back together as it doesn't simple just click and lock back into place.
Thanks for the great information, I made a update video ruclips.net/video/V1dLAxt1v0s/видео.html This is similar to what you have done, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My key stopped working a few weeks ago. I regularly do long drives so it can't be a lack of charging. Tried briefly warming it with no luck. Anyone else had a similar thing? Granted it does get batterd in my pocket all day so may just be completely dead 💀
if this does not work I have a updated video on stripping down the key and repairing the connection. click ruclips.net/video/V1dLAxt1v0s/видео.html Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I have had a few of these keys go on me before. What normally happens is one of the solder joints from one of the battery terminals snaps. Buy a key replacement on Ebay and transfer the transponder from old key shell to new key shell. I think thats why when he warmed the key it just made a connection again to the solder joint.
thanks it needed a comma, try this video if you need to strip down your key, ruclips.net/video/V1dLAxt1v0s/видео.html, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
You can change the battery! Just found out after having my second one fail. There is a common problem which I have quite easily fixed following this video here: ruclips.net/video/UGGCTIwOa4A/видео.html&ab_channel=TheCarKeyMan
These keys are exactly the same as the crap blue remote keys. The problem is the lithium cell fails. Unlike the blue remotes, there is currently no repair cases available. I have seen some people trying to use a Focus key shell. These require lots of modification to get the circuit board in and the shell to close properly. Anyone who needs a new key can contact me. I do these genuine Ford Transit sealed keys for £165 + vat.
U can open all the doors with the key by opening it turning the lock to open twice and u also can open the key and replace the battery by flipping the key out and where there is hole behine the key use tool in there to pry it open there could be soldering needed guys talking lot of 💩

how many batteries the van has?
My van has 2. The second one is under the drivers seat and is responsible for the electronics.
@@alprochaz and where is the 1st one? I thought that's the main battery under the seat
Ok I may be wrong. Maybe I understood the guy wrong. I thought there is one in front as usual and the one under the seat is the second one. Sorry.
