    Two things hit me, other than this being a great video. First, your shirt says Round Rock ,Tx. My step son moved there a couple months ago and started a handyman service, so if anyone looking....
    When you pulled out a rotting latex puppet, I was making sandwiches so I think you said puppet, I thought of Team America. I was talking to the Chiodo brothers, Killer Klowns, you likely have run across them, with my friend who was one of the lead puppeteers in Team America. I asked about the puppets and thought the Chiodos might have them since my friend Didn't. I found out they are rotting away in a warehouse owned by whatever studio owned the production. Breaks my heart. The rot is why I am team silicone rubber

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  Год назад

      YEah, but the fact that it will rot gives it more value while its here- Faberge eggs are only valuable because they are so easy to break. but yeah, it would be nice if they lasted forever.

    Congratulations for over 100 thousand subs! Halloween is coming up and I am finding I am not as excited about it as I have been for 60 years. I have been doing Pro haunts for half my life (I think we meet once at a party in Vegas Transworld). Now I just do animatronic shooting galleries for Halloween parties as a side gig just for "fun". But this year I am tired, lots of back pain and not feeling the carefree abandonment to spend the money and effort on making new items. How do you keep your focus and enthusiasm? Maybe you just love it more than I do in the end. The silly thing was last year was one of my best (shooting gallery) ever but I spent way too much money and hurt my back (in bed for two days).

    • @StiltbeastStudios

      I guess it would but the contact cement is going to discolor your original paint. So your new paint would have to match the discolored paint as opposed to the original color. I don't see why you would not want to paint it all as one piece.

The man's body is deteriorating rapidly. It needs to be repaired. It's made out of that really thick foam, with latex paint? over it and it's just rotting rotting rotting. Cutting chunks out of it, I don't believe is an option. Is there anything you'd recommend that I can spray on there to stop the rot? Or do you think your contact cement on Blue shop towels could work. It seems like it would be tedious to rip and blend it into the entire upper torso. Also I don't paint even half as good as you do. @StiltbeastStudios Yes, I totally use it every year. I restored all of the electronics, and I have it set on a timer, so I do electric chair shows every 30 minutes in my display on my front lawn. I bought uv-protective spray that is supposed to be good for latex. Although I have not applied it yet. For the most part, he's in the shade when he's outside. It's outside about a month and a half every year. This has an electric motor, not the pneumatics, but it does get jerked pretty hard when he activates. The total show run time is 30 seconds shakes violently for about 20 seconds.

      On the cracked exposed foam areas: Take E6000 glue and thin that with mineral spirts. You can paint it on, it’s clear and it will soak in and stabilize the foam as well as making a skin on top. On the neck area which gets the most motion, I would do paper towels and latex- like 3 layers- because that area gets a lot of movement and don’t’ be stingy with the latex. It’s a little stretchier than contact cement so I would use that in the neck area.

      @@StiltbeastStudios Thank you! I went to Reynolds Advanced the other day. They had some solutions, but I trust your advice over their's.

    So blue shop towels will help fix a mask? I have a kinda old one that it's like the mask is melting.. I don't know what happened to it and it was one of my favorite mask. If the shop towels help fix it then I could redo the mask

      Yes, you have to cut out the sticky parts because that will rot but it is the same process you saw me do. For masks, because they’re hollow, I will often tape them together in the back so they hold their shape and then I will do the contact cement with paper towels in the front as my patch.

    I have a spirit halloween half torso guy hanging from a noose. He needs repaired badly. What would you charge? It would be face and arms.

      I just taught you how to do it ! you do it. My fee would definitely be more than a spirit Halloween prop is valued at, is it really sentimental? Im more utilitarian that restoritive as fas as these go.
