@@GCKelloch for sure i listen to Trower's music since 1975 i think , i have rare tapes and there's one call sigma sound in november 1974 and it was Lordan already , also maybe because i been a professionnal drummer , when i've listen to that live show, i perceive it was Bill, the first one, Isidore had a good drum sound but was very basic drummer, Lordan had a more evolutive style, more varied bass drum work/ jazz rock attack at times, a little bit like me , i listened so much drummers like Cobham, S.Phillips , A.Mouzon , P.Van der Linden ( focus) and so much others who played 2 bass-drums
@@BarrackObamnaA lot of ppl do. Prince and a lot of those guys from Minneapolis were heavily influenced by Sly. Sly & Prince both played multiple instruments, write & produced all their own songs, & lead their own multi racial and gender bands.
@@RapRants both also drank water and needed oxygen to survive. They both needed to blink. You can find any kind of similarities you want but little Richard is princes musical father end of story. Of course sly influenced everyone in the entire music industry Prince included, but you literally can’t debate that Little Richard was the first of that kind of artist in the era of modern music.
with Bill , the groove is always there, he made fantastic job with the band Gypsy beginning of the 70's ....a more unknown band but so hot band who remembers me Allman brothers, Guess who and Santana ....
there's a fade-out in that complete program of Midnight special, live music never have to be faded , they had to put an advertising after Henry gross song ( personal opinion )
"We ride together, we can get by together. What about that?" I liked when he said that. I love this band! ✌️💜
That’s the line that stuck out to me too.
Sly's greatest hits CD stays near the top of the stack. It's energizing when doing housework.
The studio doors blew off and have never been found.
👍
What a great performance
How cool was this band??? Wow!!! So.much.soul!!!
Dripping talent- so rare today.
Best music channel over the RUclips ❤
Love It!!! 😻😻😻
Both Bill Lordan-drums and Rustee Allen-bass went on to play in Robin Trower's band and played the Midnight Special November 25,1975 with that band.
for sure in november 1974 , Bill was already with Robin, so here's the exact date i think : August 9, 1974
Allen arrive in Robin's band later in 1977 i think ....
Did not know that. Very cool.

Who from the earlier band is in this band? Is that Cynthia in the red suit holding a trumpet? Rose next to her? I can see Freddie on guitar.
Before there was Prince, there was Sly…
Never seen anyone compare him to Prince. Little Richard wins any kind of pedigree debate with Prince. He might as well have been his son…

Prince had a little too much MJ and not enough Sly to survive.
Before there was JJ Walker there was Sly
I may just watch this on repeat on election night. Way better for my blood pressure
This groovin’ blast from the past makes me incredibly happy!🎶❤️

❤❤❤ que buena musica
Sly is majorly stoned
Catching him straight was a major task, and now he is paying dearly for his out of control drug use & abuse. Still love him through it all!
Saw them at Altamont
I wish the cameramen had known their songs. Dance to the music, each solo.
Camera work stinks
🔥💃🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥😎
