I saw the brothers in 77 MUSIC HALL, cincinnati they were the featured artists along with FRANKIE BEVERLY and SLAVE, great concert i was 16 never forget it.
The brothers Johnson is two of the baddest brothers group ever to hit the music scene with great hits like Get the funk out ma face ... strawberry letter 23 ..... Running from your loving ....I'll be good to ya .... Louis Johnson is one of the greatest bass players to ever lay hands on bass thunder thumb Rip Louis Johnson
I remember the very first time I heard Streetwave in May 1980 as this track along with Free Yourself, Be Yourself was on the B side of the “12” single of Light Up The Night in the UK. At the age of 10, I was blown away by this track and still is one of my favourite instrumentals of all time.

Highly unlikely to have such a great paring again, the other in this genre (close) was Rogers and Edwards. Quincy (RIP) had the ears to spot them so early on!. Masters at work. Amen and thank you bro's!

When their first album hit the scene, I was hooked! I've been a Brothers Johnson fan ever since. Just great music that sho nuff brought the funk! Nuff said.

The Brothers Johnson are my blood cousins. Our grandmothers were sisters!!! I met George and Alex Weir in the 80’s and stayed in touch for a while.

I distinctly remember Strawberry Letter 23 because my mom had the vinyl. Before I even researched this I remembered the cover 😀
