Jeff is playing that wood grain set of Ludwigs, open bottoms, that he used on Toto's first U.S. tour. I saw both concerts at The Cleveland Agora Ballroom, Feb. 2, 1979 and his drums sounded amazing for the accoustics of a small club of about 1000 capacity. The concert is on youtube. Check it out.
@@toshikazukamei6352 That's the one! There was a 7:30 and 9:30 pm show. We were so close and the music was so fresh, it's still my favorite Toto concert, and I've seen 30+, from Cleveland to Vega, to Norway/Sweden. Cheers!
David Hungate on Bass, David Paich on Organ and Jeff Porcaro on Drums. The nucleus of Toto
Now they already planted the seeds but really needs a master gardener under the names of Steve Lukather and Bobby Kimball
Jeff at 19 years old already swinging like a pro
It's an unbelievable drum performance at the young age of 19.
What a great drummer!!
This is a great performance
He was a genius
Clarence Carter was a treasure and here it shows, got some legends and icons playing for him here
He’s still alive!!
He was a legend
He was amazing
Still is.
You know a Clarence Carter song is good when you hear him laughing on the track
No one laid down a groove like the great Jeff Porcaro!
👏👏👏👏👏
The moment from 0:53 - 1:01 gotta be the grooviest thing ever
He sounds so COOL !! I used to watch Soul Train but I don't think I know him..Cheers to Midnight Special !!❤❤❤❤❤❤
He was a power house

Excellent! Et les membres fondateurs de ToTo!
Geez F ***😮 .. that grooooove ❤ @rickbeato
Seems like the horns are from the record but the vocals , drums etc are live

Why does guitar sound like a Doobie Brothers tune?
Whooo-whoooaaaa listen to the music! Yeah, I instantly heard it too.
Same opening chord, same key... the rest was different enough to avoid copyright infringement @@revsharp777
Does anyone know who are the other personnel in this performance?
I am fairly certain that David Hungate is playing bass next to Jeff
@@danielleverett9909 I think so too
@@dylanheflin347 It looks like Don Menza is one of the sax players.
David Paich on organ, as well as Hungate on bass. Not sure about the others :)
Any idea who is on organ?
David Paich
Não acho que seja o David Paich. Está muito diferente dele.
@@fafaorganizer7769it’s Paich on organ alright. His hairstyle back then was a lot different before the beard came out
I love CCs voice but wish his lyrics weren't mostly so pervy.
He was a genius
