The tryout model, Debbie James, believe it or not, is the wife of Game Show Legend Bob Eubanks !!!
I wonder if Debbie James was related to Dennis James and son Brad james??
Welcome back David, I hope you are still looking for the episodes I asked for.
You know what happened a week before? Mercedes swept the showcases when she made a $10K bid, and was off by $7. The 7th closest bid of all time.
For Cover-Up, that was strategy at its finest. I was wondering if anyone ever pulled off something like that.
The Cover Up strategy wouldn't have been widely known at that point as the game was only five months old. It was around this game alt.tv.game-shows on Usenet(still readable on Google groups) started to do daily recaps on TPIR
@@zachhoran yeah there was no way he deliberately knew it wasn't a $20K plus van. he just got lucky!
Did Bob Barker expect the contestant to get MORE than one number right when he said as long as there are 'some' numbers right?
Honestly, Barbara definitely looked dressed for that Little Known Country Singers showcase. That showcase was definitely made for her, especially when she won it.
It'll never be like this again, this was when game shows were normal and had crowds, unlike the post covid crap, with selected few people in the audience.
Do you have the episode from February 7, 1994?
Whoa Bob barker is supposed to be saying welcome to the price is right
When Jerry got the last number correct on cover up he was guaranteed a win as he only had to get one right each time. So the second time, he put in the one number left for the second digit, the third time the only number left on the third digit etc etc.
Also for each of the 6 One Bid Prizes & 2 Showcases, I would have guessed the following.
Brass Telescope: $1,880
Desk: $1,298
Microwave Range: $1,295
Ring: $880
Oak Chair: $550
Barbecue Grill: $1,450
1st Showcase: $18,000
2nd Showcase: $15,000
1:24 Bob forget to say "Welcome to the Price is Right" to the TV audience.
I guess they were running behind on time.
And Remember that Debbie James also did Powerball the game show, and RIP to the host of millionaire Regis Philbin.
Almost a perfect show!
Actually, Kenneth, this would be what I would call a semi-perfect show.
I love this one
5 out of 6 ain't bad!
