Not sure why people are so critical of Apple and the people who buy their products. Yes, they're expensive, but let people spend their hard-earned money however they like. Some people just like the Apple ecosystem/operating systems and the beautiful design and exceptional build quality of most their products. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that.
I'm not critical on Apple for its computers. I'm critical on Apple for their phone and tablet. Now everyone has an Apple device (In my area at least) not because it's the best option, but because everyone else has one. My dad switched to an iPhone because my mom told him too, not because he liked the design or the nice interface. A few years later, Samsung dropped the best phone I've ever felt in my hand, the Samsung S8. That device was amazing! It looks nice, has VR capabilities, and super fast charging while having a battery life lasting longer than an iPhone. Then after a year they released the Samsung 9, they somehow made the phone even better! People that have iPhone have it because everyone else has it and now they're all trapped because they're afraid of changing. And also, when people say that apple products are too expensive they mean it's too expensive for its price and can get a way better windows laptop for the same money.
This is such a great and fair video. As someone who uses MacBook pro for work, custom desktop PC for programming/ gaming, and Surface Pro 4 for school and some work - I am constantly having to turn to my Windows PCs for productivity work like when using Visio, Access, other technical software. Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Word run so much better on Windows with a lot more features. I love the MacBook for the battery life, display quality, speakers. Mac has some awesome software too like iMovie and Sketch 3. Software installed on Parallels doesn't always work great and eats up battery. Also, I've used the useless force touch touchpad feature like 3 times in 1.5 years. Hope this helps anyone trying to decide for school/work.
Mac Guy3135 Actually I’m required to use the whole MS Office suite for school. It does start up slower on Mac, but after startup there really is no difference.
But still, they could've included it for the sake of future-proofing, since a student who buys a computer this expensive won't replace it in just a couple of years or so
They can resell it, like old text books, but I have agree that its really stupid that they didn't put one on. Either way none of these laptops interest me.
I sold my Apple Mac Book Pro and got the Surface. The Surface is the best computer I have ever had hands down. The touchscreen and color for design is everything awesome. Haven't had problems with dirt as you described and I run everything on it without any lag. Shits dope!
I have a Microsoft Surface comin in the mail round October 1st. I'm in a graphic designs and visual communications technical program at my school and the main thing that hooked me in for the Surface... was the touchscreen. I NEED THAT THING TO DRAW BRO!
I prefer the Surface Laptop design, I just like this grey colour and the alcantara. Surface Line-Up is (next to Apple) one of the few product line-ups with a distinctive design. Also the keyboard is miles better. Both are great though.
Randuski I agree. That's one of my fave feature from macbook. Its just so convenient to use, I even prefer to use it rather than my mouse, except if I need heavy editing work on photoshop/illustrator. My biggest complain about the new MBP are the ports. I am annoyed that I have to spend extra money to be able to plug usb
yea see i disagree with that. Everything i own is already usb C, and has been for a while now. The oooooonly port i wish i had is an sd card reader. The convenience of the sd card reader was incredible. But everything else about the ports and the whole "dongle life" crap just hasn't applied to me, and i'm using a 12inch macbook, which only has one port haha
stralerman the macbook touchpads were the only thing that made macbooks more attractive than windows Laptops. Trust me, the Surface Laptop trackpad is even better than the macbook trackpad. ;)
i've used surface laptops, and their trackpads are not better. I've still yet to find a trackpad that comes close to the quality and functionality of an apple. I'm always on the lookout for one tho. I need a windows setup for a few things but I can't find one thats even usable haha (i might be exaggerating a touch, but it needs to be pretty damn good to compete)
No disrespect to your dad, but you have surpassed him in style and flow. You had a great example and have undoubtedly spread your wings and created your own flavor! Congrats!
An exceptionally well-done review that speaks well of both types of devices. You win choosing either one after this excellent overview. Bravo, Mr. Tse :)
I Would Choose the MacBook Pro since I'm already used to macOS. I don't really Game much. Also same I don't think I would be using the touchscreen as much either.
I have a MacBook, but a co worker of mine has a touch screen 2 in 1 and I found myself scrolling with the touch screen. There were certain things I quite liked about it. I actually would love a 2 in 1 MacBook pro
This is first time I ever added a comment on a video on youtube because I am so impressed with your professionalism and accuracy, knowledge, confidence in expressing what you know. You are awesome! I am proud of you. I did subscribe! You have great future!
For students, nothing beats a Surface Pro or similar 2-in-1 device. Absolutely nothing. The way they can replace your paper notes completely and be an excellent laptop and tablet at the same time is just astounding and makes these regular laptops look like dinosaurs.
That's the the stupidest thing I've ever heard in a long time. There's literally nothing the ipad pro can do that the surface can't, while the Surface pro does so much more. Even the things the iPad can do, the Surface does better. But wtf does "is not a tablet at all" mean? The surface pro is 8.5 mm thick, and the i5 model(Core i5, not the crappy underpowered ARM chip the ipad pro has) is completely fanless, so it is a tablet by every posibile measure, all while bringing nicer design, times better performance and infinitely better usability and ergonomics. It is more expensive, granted, but you get what you pay for, the iPad Pro is an inferior product and there's no debate here.
The Surface Pro is amazing! I just got mine last week and yes you can play games like Dues Ex Human Revolution, BioShock Infinite, Naruto Storm 3, GTA5 and Saints Row 4 on it just fine! Oh and DMC reboot! You can play these games with an XboxOne bluetooth controller plug-and-play and yes! I know it's not a gaming device, but it's amazing that it can play games like these with decent performance and visuals. I use it for video editing, after affects photoshop, and office work but being able to also watch movies, play games, listen to music and draw and take notes on the Surface Pro is just awesome! Truly! I love the new Surface Pro 2017!
Jay Y I do feel that you cannot beat a proper pen an paper notebook. You have a hard copy for grabbing for quick revisions without worrying about the strain after a long day. OCR and scanning have come a long way and it takes minutes to upload a days notes onto Evernote which will convert to searchable text on the fly. You then have a hard copy for your iPad to annotate as you like. Just because you can take notes with a laptop doesn’t make it the best way. But what works for you is good, but for many other people there are other methods so there is no right or wrong.
"Evernote which will convert to searchable text on the fly." How good is this text recognition? It's one amazing feature if it actually works properly, but I have quite an ugly handwriting so I'm unsure this would work
good review but my own tests give macbook battery life way less than what you described, 3-4 hours max. this made me get the surface. plus touchscreen >>> touchbar or lack thereof
I've got Microsoft Surface Laptop now. I've switched from Macbook Air to it and I'm really happy with it. Though I don't have any preferences in terms of software. I like both Windows and Mac OS.
Oh, and the Macbook is for me. I used to own a Windows laptop until 2014 and before that. Windows always had issues for me. Between anti-virus software to constant small bugs, it was always a pain to use. In addition to that, the user interface was not efficient or visually appealing. I switched to a MacBook Pro in 2015 and I haven't looked back since. The build quality of my laptop and using macOS has been useful, easy, and very rewarding. That's just my experience though. I haven't tried Windows 10, maybe they have improved a lot by then. Maybe one day I will reconsider Windows but as of now, macOS is really great for me and my needs.
Even if you are trying to be objective, this review is definitely very subliminally biased toward the MacBook... Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation
That baseline surface laptop has to be a prank Microsoft is pulling, 4GB of ram? in 2017? WTF??!! Consumer protection laws should prohibit a laptop above the $500 price range from coming with anything other than a base of 8GB of ram. Ok I'm joking, but seriously, WTF... Even if its the fastest ram on earth it's still not enough!
EXCELLENT Video as always Justin. Was looking forward to this sort of a comparison. Also, Microsoft said that they'll have a Surface Connector to USB C Dongle by the end of the year.
ST34LTHx That's a great choice. Try to USB C your whole life. It's amazing. I think you should choose the basic Touchbar configuration for the 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, Touch-ID, and of course the Touchbar.
Honestly I can't wrap my head around the fact, that people actually use touch screens on laptops. How can you not be bothered by fingerprints, grease on that beautiful screen??? It drives me fucking nuts even on my phone, there is absolutely no way I would put up with that shit on a huge screen. I can't even stand dust particles on the screen. You people are fucking weird.
There are tablets that are touch, i think laptop should be a laptop not some mixture. Well everything goes under other’s preferences. Someone likes the touch others don’t i had a laptop with touchscreen an i did not like it as much , changed it to normal laptop without any touch and i enjoy it
I guess it really is personal preference. I clean the grease of the touch screen daily but I enjoy using a touch screen and couldn't care less about how it looks when I'm working. Also I prefer one device that does EVERYTHING, but again person preference ;)
I am a typical Windows user. How ever when comparing these two devices I would chose the MacBook. I do web development, and honestly these days Apple's computers are really the choice for most. As of now I have an XPS13, But wouldnt mind having a macbook instead, along with having my Windows machine as my main PC. Apple makes good products, Cant deny that.
Thinking about choosing one of them. Why do you want to drop XPS? I have heard that it has more working time(1080p model) and infinity display. For me battery time is the most important thing, and it looks like XPS is better than macbook at this point
As an engineering student, I cannot imagine myself having to use these computers, because it is practically impossible to take handwritten notes on these. I currently have the Surface Pro 4.
As a medical student I agree with Darcer, I have a lot of situation where you don't have enough time to type and draw using touchbar, that was a nightmare, and sometime I only have one hand to write things, while my other hand holding something else
Darcer's Tech You should try out the new iPad Pro. Give it a try, I'm sure you'll love it especially in combination with iOS 11. But for engineering a MacBook Pro is great.
If you show me how to do diagrams and sketches using a keyboard, I would be really thankful... Or solving mathematic problems with all the working using keyboard only. Not possible.
Have tried to use the 12.9" iPad Pro for a week. Even though I would consider it a much more "elegant" machine, it is still very limiting. #1: No mouse support #2: No desktop program / app support (I used my Surface as the only device to create and submit a CAD assignment) #3: No external drive support #4: No "proper" external display support #5: Not possible to run multiple instances of the same app side by side (e.g. having 2 Word documents open at the same time) And so on... My friend is a medical student and he is looking to buy a new machine as well, but also needs the things I mentioned above. I just hope Apple will be even more aggressive about making the iPad into a laptop replacement, because I feel like, if Apple REALLY wanted to, they could have already had it on the market.
VERY GOOD presentation ****** you covered all critical aspects . very nice : I would recommend more graphic slides with annotations because it peg marks the salient points. you did a commendable presentation.
I literally just returned my macbook and got a surface. No complaints, the macbook got very hot and I could never get use to the keyboard. I do miss the mac trackpad tho, but the touchscreen may be worth the change.
Hi Justin! First of all - great video. You're making a solid comparison when you're based on price, which many other reviewers doesn't do. More interesting though, I think your videos can be even better if you put som text in them, especially when comparing one product against another. That way, it would be way easier to catch the differences between the products! And at the end of the video, you could add the major pros and cons of each products, listed next to each other. Great work!
mbp all the way. -> More Powerful -> Better Software optimisation -> Very good sound quality -> Quiet in all sense, not even whine coil And overall, windows kinda inspired itself from apple's design, thats self explanatory
I can see how well the display is on both of these computers. The view is amazing. Especially since I am viewing other monitors with my monitor and mine is a 12 year old aluminum macbook which, to me, looks just as good. Nice computers though.
Mac has all the software which are available for Windows and more. Most of the Linux applications are also available. And if there is no binary available, you can always build it. The track-pad on Mac is unparalleled. I have not used mouse with my Mac and I have used it heavily for software development.
Akhilesh Mishra I am a student from India, and I use C++ coded software's for my modelling, some statistical software like SPSS, r , some Landsat software also, and none could run on my shiny then new 2016 MBpro15. I resorted back to using my think pad l440 through and throughout. My MBpro is still mint and I sometimes use it to edit photos. Macbook softwares are available only if you buy then , like the SPSS is worth 9 Ac INR. For Microsoft you can find a cracked one all day long for 250 INR from the market . MB had investment for many who want to do my type of work.
GoogleMe2461 hahahaa! Sucks? Yeah, okay. Apple's integrated connectivity between iPhone and Mac is awesome. Let alone that it's a lightweight OS that rarely crashes or gets viruses. Plus can run any program you throw at it, especially if you have a Windows XP virtual machine running on the system or on boot camp. I say XP because it's still my number one Windows OS. Vista and onwards was just buggy crap (7 was okay but it was just a fancy XP).
+Browning Bros The only reason Windows machines get more viruses is simple: market penetration. If Apple products were as numerous as Windows machines are, and vice versa, people would be saying how great Windows is because it rarely gets viruses.
I don't see why computer science students would ever prefer Windows over macOS. Unless your university for some weird reason only uses stuff like C# and .NET. Developer life on Windows is a pain in general compared to macOS.
Because WSL. So you have a fully supported Linux interface into the Windows kernel subsystem with Windows 10 pro. Additionally if you need to kernel hack you can't really do that on a Mac or Windows - either option you need to use a linux vm. MS Hyper-V is a more full featured option for this than the free VM options you can get on a Mac. Development used to be hard on Windows but that's all changed with Windows 10 pro. And you get Visual Studio which is great! VSCode is a pretty good option if not on Windows though but not as full featured. The only edge Mac has now is Swift and IOS coding and that's for the same dubious reasons MS used to have an edge with .net. Good on MS for coming to the party and opening .net up. Apple is falling behind and should follow MS in this and make Swift/Objective C and IOS development open. My take though is that for CS students it really doesn't matter which ecosystem (unless you want to code iPhones and such). You'll end up using linux for the hardcore stuff.
Tim Anon funny, everyone praises vscode but i dont like it at all. Need to change a million preferences to get it to run a lil nit amd even then it falls far behind because you rely on 3rd party plugin support.
@Dukez Venom - Yeah I see that, I find it hard to go back to vscode from MS VS. MS VS just knows the right defaults to get you started - less effort to get productive straight out of the box. Having said that - vscode is one of the most versatile cross platform "free" options out there currently. It's not as fiddly and clunky as something like Eclipse.
Isnt it that microsoft are getting slow very quickly, atleast i had that experience, laptop with windows 10 and after few uses it just lags like there was no tomorrow 😂
Dont buy 0 scored repairability laptop - Surface laptop is a bad deal for the price compared to other Windows laptops - Dell XPS, Razer Stealth, Thinkpads
The reliability report was for older Surface Pro 4 and 3 devices, it didn't even include the new Surface Laptop, the report was out before the Surface Laptop was on the market for that long. Get your facts straight.
@Mustafa Adaoglu All Razer products are cheap plastic POS marketed toward clueless kids who think cool logos and aggressive graphics make things perform better.
GamingNerdy apple knows what they doing, it does cost a lot but at the end of the day it is apple a classic brand with great and unique products but thats personal choice ;)
For me, as a web design/development student I'd take the Surface Laptop and install either Fedora or Linux Mint. The apps/programs I use are more optimized for Linux.
Definitely the MacBook. I really dislike Windows 10, I much preferred Windows 7. I'm a powerhouse user of macOS because of this. However I'm not a fan of only USB-c ports, but I can live with that.
I liked Windows 7 because it seemed more like a computer operating system. Windows 10 seems more like an iOS. I also really don't like touch screen laptops.
Ports situation: MacBook, adapter for the first 2 years! Surface, adapter for the last 2 years! On a side note, you can sell your MacBook for half of what you've bought it after 4 years but Surface will be a dirty piece of trash that can only be recycled!
Yeah, isn't it amazing how brainless people would give money for an outdated piece of aluminum? There's a sucker born everyday, and probably likes aluminum objects.
I switched from my 2015 macbook pro for the surface so far no regrets whatsoever, the touchscreen grew up on my quite fast, I tend to scroll up and down much easier and with less fatigue on my wrist when I place it on my lap. After six months it still is fast and fluid and windows hello is awesome, I hated that apple did away with magsafe on the new macbook pro and that was if not the main one of the main reasons I chose the surface over the mac.
you dont have a boring voice i really enjoy your content and i find it interresting
thanks for the respond
Your voice isn't boring. And your reviews are really comprehensive. Love them.
O
That thumbnail is the one of the best I've seen in a while!
JUSTECH one of the best comparisons! Thanks
JUSTECH Yeah.
JUSTECH so professional!
Yeah!!! Dave lee also has great thumbnails
JUSTECH TRAVIS
As a student the touch screen feels like a must! I use it constantly for onenote and web notes

Mike Silverii yeah. Totally agree!

You have a lot of computers...
Also, who still uses word?
Mac Guy3135 What else is there besides Word?
+Mac Guy3135 Only people who work in an office and need to write documents. Surely that can't be more than a few million.
Mac Guy3135 Actually I’m required to use the whole MS Office suite for school. It does start up slower on Mac, but after startup there really is no difference.
And actually my MacBook Pro even starts the MS office faster than windows laptops...
Ive got both. I would recommend the surface pro. You can do so much more with it.
I still don't understand why Microsoft didn't include a USB C port in the Surface laptop but anyway great video Justin
They said that its because students don't use or need USB-C.
But still, they could've included it for the sake of future-proofing, since a student who buys a computer this expensive won't replace it in just a couple of years or so
They can resell it, like old text books, but I have agree that its really stupid that they didn't put one on. Either way none of these laptops interest me.
In order to make it thin they had to leave out the USB C, there just was not enough room.
Not The One but the Mac book /pro is thinner and it has more than 1 usb-C lol
I sold my Apple Mac Book Pro and got the Surface. The Surface is the best computer I have ever had hands down. The touchscreen and color for design is everything awesome. Haven't had problems with dirt as you described and I run everything on it without any lag. Shits dope!
How was the battery...?
Even though I’m an Apple guy, I’d have to go with the Microsoft surface laptop because of the touch screen and the alacatara surface on the keyboard.
I have a Microsoft Surface comin in the mail round October 1st. I'm in a graphic designs and visual communications technical program at my school and the main thing that hooked me in for the Surface... was the touchscreen. I NEED THAT THING TO DRAW BRO!
If you need to draw prob should’ve gone for surface go pro with pen because it can lay flat
Your tone of voice is straight and not patronising and you really put effort into the vid thanks!
I prefer the Surface Laptop design, I just like this grey colour and the alcantara. Surface Line-Up is (next to Apple) one of the few product line-ups with a distinctive design. Also the keyboard is miles better. Both are great though.

Calvin Green who is his dad?
marksoeplepel Danny Winget...
Calvin Green Is Danny his father? or is it just because they look like father and son?
marksoeplepel That is his father...ask him or Danny.
I appreciate the production quality of your video. I can tell you spent a lot of time editing this comparison.
APPLE is actually an acronym. It stands for Adapters Plugs Peripherals Leads & Extensions
Samsung Galaxy Nice try
Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahaha
Samsung Galaxy no it dies not Smart ass

You can say that but once you use touch screen it hard to go back I have both n I keep touching MacBook Pro screen all the time
windows works well with touch
Touchscreen is good on surface pro but this laptop is not detachable.
I have a MacBook, but a co worker of mine has a touch screen 2 in 1 and I found myself scrolling with the touch screen. There were certain things I quite liked about it. I actually would love a 2 in 1 MacBook pro

Great honest and unbiased review, which is hard to do. Great video!

good review but my own tests give macbook battery life way less than what you described, 3-4 hours max. this made me get the surface. plus touchscreen >>> touchbar or lack thereof
From my experiences it depends on the model, on my MacBook Pro 15" TouchBar gets like 2.5 in Final Cut haha
This video was very informative and answered all my questions about these two laptops. Nice video!
They both look beautiful
I've got Microsoft Surface Laptop now. I've switched from Macbook Air to it and I'm really happy with it. Though I don't have any preferences in terms of software. I like both Windows and Mac OS.
The Microsoft laptop is less repairable than the Apple laptop.
I never thought I would ever say that.
Oh, and the Macbook is for me. I used to own a Windows laptop until 2014 and before that. Windows always had issues for me. +Elias Ramos haha
Elias Ramos the surface series is very different from other laptops
Firstname Lastname very diff lol I highly doubt now they don't need anti-virus, Anti-Malware, etc.
Elias Ramos stfu
I like the clean minimalist videos man. Good job.
+Ricardo Chaidez :)
I'm going to buy myself the macbook pro. You made up my mind!
You are definitely one of my fave tech YT-ers ... keep up the excellent work!
Even if you are trying to be objective, this review is definitely very subliminally biased toward the MacBook... Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation
+Samuel Baker I tried haha, but at the end of the day I have owned a dozen Mac's since 2010..
It was still one of the more balanced comparison videos ive seen though so gj
so you basically just watched this video and that was it. Because there are a lot of better videos made when they are objective.
Samuel Baker yes because the. Mac is far superior
Welp, out of the 1 million comparisons on youtube I do believe that this one is the best and gets right to the point.
That baseline surface laptop has to be a prank Microsoft is pulling, 4GB of ram? in 2017? WTF??!! I would choose the MacBook Pro because I think it offers better software and works for students in many different courses.
ST34LTHx That's a great choice. Try to USB C your whole life. It's amazing.

I own both and switch between them often. I love the premium feel both devices have. Great laptops!
Boosted af
i dont undersrand why people always say they dont use yhe touch screen.. thats second nature to me
Thug Krysalid it's second-nature to everyone who comes to my desk at work.
its just not as ergonomic to use a touchscreen laptop as it is to use the keyboard and touchpad
Nice chill, laid back style. Excellent comparison.
Nic Henseleit Thank you very much. I'm Apple for life. But I have to say that the Dell XPS is one good looking and good computer.
it's a good quality but for 1300 dollars should have a dedicated gpu
GamerFRumG not with that size and the components already inside. The biggest disappointment is the lack of Type C ports.
Nic Henseleit I'm just saying that you get a premium product it should have a gpu chip atleast
Thinking about choosing one of them. Why do you want to drop XPS? I have heard that it has more working time(1080p model) and infinity display. For me battery time is the most important thing, and it looks like XPS is better than macbook at this point
I really like the way you set this video up.. Very aesthetically pleasing :)
I am windows user and even i have to say the mac won this one. if it was a full windows experience, my view on it would have been different.
Production quality of your videos is amazing. Keep it up!
Just got my MacBook Pro touch bar and I 😍
Justin Tse I personally think you should blend the specs in when you're listing them, so it's easier to compare. Great vid though.
I am from India
Price of surface laptop 2 is 1k dollar and MacBook pro is at 2.2 dollars so I think surface is much better
yr voice is really nice and smooth, thanks for a good reviews
MacBook Pro for me! I'm an iOS developer, so let's just say I need macOS lol
Piyush2003m Much appreciated, Piyush! Good to see you here too.
ForrestKnight same, also just found your videos. I too went through Marks course
Justin Lindsay Good stuff. That course really helped me out.
just use xamarin
No thanks. They may say there software creates native apps, but that's not true and it's much slower than being truly native.
Absolutely great review! Thank you for helping me make my decision. I opted out for 15" MBP.
Apple Apple iPad Pro can't run desktop apps so it's not ideal for school
If you show me how to do diagrams and sketches using a keyboard, I would be really thankful...
Or solving mathematic problems with all the working using keyboard only. Not possible.
Have tried to use the 12.9" iPad Pro for a week. Even though I would consider it a much more "elegant" machine, it is still very limiting.
#1: No mouse support
#2: No desktop program / app support (I used my Surface as the only device to create and submit a CAD assignment)
#3: No external drive support
#4: No "proper" external display support
#5: Not possible to run multiple instances of the same app side by side (e.g. having 2 Word documents open at the same time)
And so on...
My friend is a medical student and he is looking to buy a new machine as well, but also needs the things I mentioned above. I just hope Apple will be even more aggressive about making the iPad into a laptop replacement, because I feel like, if Apple REALLY wanted to, they could have already had it on the market.
You can also get a MSi with gtx 1050, 8 gb ram, 128gb sad, 1 tb HDD and i5-7300HQ for 1300 - 1400$ if you live in denmark
An impressive looking thumbnail to say the least
VERY GOOD presentation ****** you covered all critical aspects . very nice : I would recommend more graphic slides with annotations because it peg marks the salient points. you did a commendable presentation.
Which one should you buy? Neither.
Agreed
I would go with a Xiaomi laptop instead.
This review was very good. The presenter was very articulate and knowledgeable on computers.
Great review, easy to understand. Thank you.
+Autumn Muse thanks for watching!
I literally just returned my macbook and got a surface. No complaints, the macbook got very hot and I could never get use to the keyboard. I do miss the mac trackpad tho, but the touchscreen may be worth the change.
128GB vs 256GB for the same price? non touch vs. touch for the same price? It seems quite obvious which one to get.
@FatalDiarrhea it's actually really sturdy... it's okay though Apple users don't tend to use their brains
Great work!
Arghh I still can't choose!!!!@!😕
TheNicoliyah same here! I got more confused
mbp all the way.
-> More Powerful
-> Better Software optimisation
-> Very good sound quality
-> Quiet in all sense, not even whine coil
And overall, windows kinda inspired itself from apple's design, thats self explanatory
Check iFixit
Microsoft is not bad but it doesn't hold long
I would recommend you the MacBook Pro but the one with the Touch Bar, that's the one I have and is just so much better
Thanks for making it man. That was what I needed man Keep it up!
Macbook Pro is in MY opinion one of the best laptop in the market currently
really they both gorgeous i just switched from mac to windows after 15 years just for surface book
Mac OS baby! I can watch porn without worrying about virus 👍👍
LOL
Chuck Han using chromebooks you dont need to worry about virus
You don't have to worry about viruses on modern Windows honestly
+GoogleMe2461 Lol I'll be sure to send you an email so you can test that theory. All you have to do is click the link.
Savva Moser horny people who can't get laid
Great video! You did a nice job breaking down each the categories and discussing the strengths and weaknesses. Keep it up!
+warhol cow :)
Personally I’ll chose the surface due to I’m not really a fan of apple laptops. I believe there underpowered for the expensive price.
Jack Hayward Macbook literally scored higher in performance tests like wtf... the Microsoft laptop is the underpowered one here you moron
@@madturkey4985 not sure who's the moron here... he was talking about price to power ratio not power in general
@@ryanchi89 well the MacBook and the surface laptop are the same price so wtf are you talking about...
@@madturkey4985 do your homework son... they are not.
Akhilesh Mishra Yep. But the unique softwares are only available on the Mac App Store.
Probably a fanboy
Bros Power yeah you're the fanboy cause you can't agree the fact lol!
the best video out there to help me with my decision. thanks mate. really well done
Macbook Pros :) Its OS is the main thing that most people buy these expensive laptops.
It's the OS that absolutely sucks that sells these laptops
Interesting.
Pranith Mugi There's a cool thing called OneDrive
*Fanboy=Noob*
very well comparison, and detailed content
and humble personality , very good sir :)
Awesome!
Very good review, just what I was looking for! thanks!!
@@Scarletpimpanel73 that is very true but id still take ms vs or any jetbrains product over vs code if possible
for developers windows are probably the best.
The best confrontation i have ever saw! Good job! New subscriber
Surface Book > Macbook Pro 2017. The Surface Laptop is a top machine, got it and I love it!
surface
How is the keyboard holding up?
MacBook Pro > Surface Laptop.
First get one and then comment.
Microsoft and apple fanboy??? Well probably will never a tech guy 😎
Isnt it that microsoft are getting slow very quickly, atleast i had that experience, laptop with windows 10 and after few uses it just lags like there was no tomorrow 😂
I love all the surface models, I like the surface studio the most
I LOVE MICROSOFT SURFACE....
Same thinking of getting one
same
Thinking about buying the Surface Laptop or Pro...
Surface laptop >> MBP , based on my personal perspective on beauty. MBP is like old man laptop
Lol pour any drink on your baby then R.I.P. lol!
Great video man, exactly the info I was looking for.

Yeah, MacBook is so much better with a score of 1/10!
@Mustafa Adaoglu
All Razer products are cheap plastic POS marketed toward clueless kids who think cool logos and aggressive graphics make things perform better.
Marcin Konstantynowicz MacBook is 3/10
MacBook pro can’t touch surface book 2. Screw the laptop.
Your voice is not boring bro'. Keep up the good work!
I can't stand Apple. They're horribly overpriced. But Microsoft is pissing me off, so MacBook for me probably.
GamingNerdy have to pay 50 buck for window 10, hell nah
GamingNerdy apple really isn't overpriced lol or ure only fixing the price base on the specs?
Are you a Linux user? You talk bad about both the companies.
GamingNerdy apple knows what they doing, it does cost a lot but at the end of the day it is apple a classic brand with great and unique products but thats personal choice ;)
ahaha shut up isheep women buy apple products just because of fashion
Which one I should purchase. I’m using apple products more like watch and phones etc.
Surface > macbook
Sorry macbook users for this difficult equation 😂
It’s not an equation, but an expression. It has to equal something to be considered an equation😜
you sound like a surface fan ;)
smell the rage
You can opt for the touch bar model so you can get Touch ID as a replacement for Windows Hello
If you wanna spend that much money, you know you have to go with the best OS.
ChromeOS.
It is trash. Wonder how the two models Chromebook pixel and the pixelbook costs $1000!
Its called a joke... smh
Just Chilling yeah obviously it's a joke I knew it already.
V. Sriram Sundar You must be fun at parties

For me, as a web design/development student I'd take the Surface Laptop and install either Fedora or Linux Mint. The apps/programs I use are more optimized for Linux.
Surface Laptop :)
Excellent Video, Thanks For The Share.........you know ur stuff!! Two thumbs way UP!!
But the winner of everything is that MacBook can last for 10 years soooooo
Definitely the MacBook. I really dislike Windows 10, I much preferred Windows 7. I'm a powerhouse user of macOS because of this. However I'm not a fan of only USB-c ports, but I can live with that.
For what reason?
I liked Windows 7 because it seemed more like a computer operating system. Windows 10 seems more like an iOS. I also really don't like touch screen laptops.
If you don't want a touchscreen laptop, than don't use the touchscreen.
You must be a Windows fan. I'm just saying that I'm not a fan of Windows 10
give logical explanations rather than being an Apple fan
Loving your videos Justin!
Ports situation: MacBook, adapter for the first 2 years! Surface, adapter for the last 2 years!
On a side note, you can sell your MacBook for half of what you've bought it after 4 years but Surface will be a dirty piece of trash that can only be recycled!
Sina Bakhshalian No, I don't need any adapters. Just organize your tech life around USB C.
Yeah, isn't it amazing how brainless people would give money for an outdated piece of aluminum? There's a sucker born everyday, and probably likes aluminum objects.
Omg this prove that Justin Tse is apple fanboy...he only hearted the apple guy
I switched from my 2015 macbook pro for the surface so far no regrets whatsoever, the touchscreen grew up on my quite fast, I tend to scroll up and down much easier and with less fatigue on my wrist when I place it on my lap.
After six months it still is fast and fluid and windows hello is awesome, I hated that apple did away with magsafe on the new macbook pro and that was if not the main one of the main reasons I chose the surface over the mac.
MacBook Pro for life
