    Eubank Sr was in his prime during the golden age of the super middleweights. He’s good but even he admitted there is a reason he didn’t fight Roy Jones or James Toney. I’m trying to see if his son will do the same route and avoid very dangerous opponents like I don’t know.......GGG

    • @johnhaigh7473
      @johnhaigh7473 7 лет назад +4

      Klash716 and that very reason forever marks him down,Benn didn’t fight Jones or Toney either,but at least he fought McClellan who was the most dangerous puncher in the division and he went to the states and fought Barclay.

    • @jatinderphull8691
      @jatinderphull8691 7 лет назад

      Klash716 he didnt need to look for them as he was able to be champion and was the draw here...he would of had to go there to fight toney and jones and wouldnt earn anywhere near with the risk twice as much...it was actually good management

    • @upsetdasetup5299
      @upsetdasetup5299 7 лет назад

      No son,it was a lack of desire to test himself and fight for other belts,there are actually 4 belts not 1..If he had fought either of those 2 fighters he would have got the biggest pay day of his life you donut,they were massive draws in the states...It wasn't good management,it was a fighter being protected and lack of ambition.

      Benn beat a top American pound for pound fighter in Mclellan, which Eubank always avoided. Eubank shied away from hard fights as much as possible in his career, always choosing hand picked opponents for easy pay days whenever he could.
      Benn went and fought in America, Eubank only fought British fighters and an Irishman in Collins. Benn and Watson are his only good wins, and he was losing to Watson until the end of the rematch, and arguably lost the first fight.
      Benn had a better career overall.

    Eubank's best wins far, far eclipse DeGale's best wins. Let's not forget, DeGale actually lost his most high profile fight so far. Eubank on the other hand found a way to stop both Nigel Benn and Michael Watson in fights that transcended the sport and captivated an entire nation. Eubank made 19 consecutive world title defences over a four year period and got to something ridiculous like 43-0. James DeGale on the other hand has defended his title four times in two years, nearly lost to "Porky" Medina and is now coming back from America with his tail in between his legs to defend against Caleb Truax in front of 3000 people.
    Simply put - DeGale isn't fit to lace Eubank Sr's gloves. He needs to respect his elders and concentrate on building his own legacy. Right now his legacy isn't even close to that of Eubank Sr's. And quite frankly - I'm fairly sure no matter what DeGale turned up - pre-Watson II Eubank Sr would chin the loud-mouthed joker.

      Look am not really a DeGale fan but cmon now Eubank sr wasn’t all that, name one good fighter he beat? Look at his resume whenever he stepped up he lost, he made title defences fighting cab drivers 😂. British fighters back then weren’t as good as the fighters we have rightnow. Put him in there with a boxer like Callum Smith he would struggle badly because these guys are more technical.

Degale has fought much more legit competition in the likes of badou jack, dirrell, and bute. Eubank is totally over rated, he was a home protected fighter who got found out against the likes of steve collins, who were not even remotely as good as the likes of toney or jones jr.

    Nigel Benn (twice), Michael Watson (twice), Graciano Rocchigiani, Sugarboy Malinga, Tony Thornton, Ray Close (twice), Henry Wharton, Steve Collins (twice), Carl Thompson (twice) and Joe Calzaghe. Eubanks resume stands up pretty well. Benn's was better but it's not too dissimilar to Roy Jones and James Toney's at middle and super middle. I'd say it's on a par with Michael Nunn's and was definitely better than McClellan's. Back then unifications just didn't happen.

      Collins only beat Eubank because that was the post-Watson tragedy version of Eubank who refused to try and knock any body out in case he put them in a coma. Eubank was never the same fighter after what he did to Watson.

    Amir Khan done beat the star years ago. There was a challenge with a row of 4" nails started into a piece of timber. All the contestants had to do was hammer the nails home with a claw hammer and Khan couldn't even hit a nail once

    15 round fighter is our James! I would LOVE to see Degale v Billy Joe Saunders at maybe a "catchweight" fight (both are fantastic technical boxers) and know each other very well from the 2008 Olympic games............................I wonder what other peoples opinions are on this and ultimately who would win????

    Eubank Sr is a legend as far as I can recalled he has never got his teeth punched out of his head. James DeGale has been on a campaign to discredit Eubank Jr, now that Junior has become one of the most exciting fighters in Britain he’s jealous of his status. What’s wrong with respecting another persons accomplishments.

    This is what I hate about KC, that really irritates me is dat he loves to ask questions that make head lines or causes friction or contraversy but when asked a simple question, never gives his personal opinion.

    Eubank was a good fighter. I feel boxing back then was kill or be killed it was much tougher. Nowadays most fighters just don't want to fight but really just want some light sparing with a big pay cheque. There is much less killer instinct these days

    • @aries6776

      You don't know what you are talking about. He beat Benn and Watson but after the second Watson fight he put him in a coma and after that he was reluctant to land heavy shots on his opponents in case he did irreparably damage. Pre-Watson Eubank was one of the greatest fighters that Britain has ever produced. A lot of people who weren't around at the time don't understand that he just wasn't the same fighter after the Watson tragedy.
