Missed Rana today! 😢 He always says the funniest comments about the names of the food. Hope he comes back. I love his humor.
Has anyone else started to say ‘hoi, hoi, hoi’ when something is delicious or good? Or is it just me?! 😂
Yes! 😮
I had some custard pie last night so I know these are loving it! I’ve never had custard cake tho so it’s a new one to add to the list of things to try 😎 liked and shared now 👍👍👍
Why they don't give the guys something like hot tea to drink during the tasting videos baffles me because it would heighten the taste experience so much more.
So very true!
LOL! It's only Ambrosia Devon Custard in a can... Probably the best custard in the world! It tastes awesome cooled from the fridge too instead of heated up. And their canned rice pudding is probably the best rice pudding in the world too!
Nah. Bird's custard beats out Ambrosia, imo.
Great on a cold day after a long walk
I wish I could send them ally my favorite sweets from the American south! Peach cobbler, apple cobbler, fudge brownie a la mode, pecan pie, Italian cream cake, praline candy, candy apples, caramel apple…I know Mr. Chaudray would go nuts! 😇
Goodness…I forgot lemon meringue pie and bread pudding!
And I’m so sorry I spelled Chaudhary incorrectly above! 🤦🏾♀️
GSK's inner child sure came out to play on this one! His cheeky grin and giggle of pleasure had me laughing from the beginning. And Raffique in the last frame was so cute.
Sorry I misspelled his name!
I love his giggle 💜😄
It makes me so happy to see these guys try new foods, especially Chaudhary. He’s a real foodie. He really enjoys being surprised by the deliciousness of new taste experiences.
I make homemade custard for my grandchildren all the time they ask for it. I like it best served warm! All they need is milk, eggs, sugar, corn starch, and vanilla. I use about 2 to 3 cups of milk, 1/3 cup sugar, usually 2 or 3 eggs depending on size of eggs the chickens have laid, 3 tablespoons of corn starch, cook when thick take off stove and add one teaspoon of vanilla. Just keep stirring while cooking as you do not want it to stick to the bottom of the pan.
I was going to let them know how easy it is to make custard but y'all beat me to it! 😊
We all know Raffique loves to make special treats for his kids and neighbors, so this is perfect for him! I hope they translate your recipe for him! 🤗
I've made it without the cornstarch, too.
Mr. Gul Sher’s words are profound and true.
Mr. Tahir’s words about women and storms made me laugh. 😆
Custard Cake is good for cough, especially in winters.
Is that you Dr Tahir?
Did Tahir approve it?😂😂😅😅😂
Yes!!
If you have a brawler wife, serve her the custard cake each night to have a happy marriage and save yourself from bruises
Where is Rana Nadeem?
I love these guys so much. Always a delight to see them trying sweets!
Can we request things to give them? If so, as a native Idahoan I would love them to try a loaded baked potato! I just know they'd all love it. 🥰
Especially if you pour hot custard over it.
Hell, I’D love a loaded baked potato 😆
I'm now cooking a potato .
You might think to send them 4-5 large potatoes. They have potatoes but probably not large ones for loading. A potato should be able to survive the trip and they can bake them in their ovens and get local toppings to load them up.
@@kevinerose That would be okay but to see them eat one the way we do would be better. Chives, sour cream, bacon... yum!!!
Lovely sponge and custard my UK Sunday evening tea time as a child! Especially Ambrosia custard! Excellent choice of meal Nigel
I've not heard of custard cake before. It looks wonderful! The closest thing to it (still pretty far off, flavor-wise) was the Christmas plum pudding with hard sauce that my English grandmother used to make when I was a kid (late 1960s-early 1970s). I was still pretty young when she passed, so sadly never got the recipe.
Is Rana OK..? Welcome new guy..just missing our friend as well.
That's exactly what I was going to say.
Where's Rana ?
I miss him too!
Where is Rana? Hope the new guy isnt replacing him.
Missing Rana. The custard cake looks lovely.
Rana would have loved this. I hope they are able to share it with him off camera when he returns.
So Nigel is the one who sent them this thoughtful gift. Good on you mate.
If they could show you their appreciation by making plans with you, they’d be in XTC
Where is Mr Rana I hope his family and he are OK sending 🙏
I still love seeing their reactions to everything, but it’s also lovely how worldly the original 4 have become through these experiences. They’ve come quite a long way.
I've made this many times, but with homemade lemon custard ( didn't know it came in a can) yum. Thank you Nigel for sending them this delicious dessert. Be Blessed. 😊🇺🇲
Our custard usally comes from a cabln or powder probably completely different to American custard
always love Tahir's humor. If Umer is a new addition, then welcome to the team Sir. I hope he isn't replacing Rana though. His absence was noticed in this video.
Yes I like the new guy, but missed Rana
I’m not feeling this new guy at all to be honest. Bring back Rana !!
@@lonepilgrim4854 Rana may not be gone, just busy when they filmed this. Umer may be a new member, he may just be filling in for now, he may be a guest. This is probably his first time being on camera like this, so if he is new, he has to start to feel more comfortable, before he's as open and outgoing as the rest.
Somebody should send Chaudhary a tin of Bird`s Custard powder with instructions , he seemed so sad that he couldn`t buy Ambrosia there. It`s not quite the same thing but it`s very close and if he was taught to make it properly I`m sure he`d love it
Ridiculous. Birds has no egg in it. It's not custard at all, just sugar and cornstarch with artificial colour.
Missing Mr.Rana..
I say it again... Mr. C. has a smile that is made for tv! You wear it well.
Their gratitude towards everything presented to them is humbling. Such simple things bring them so much joy. We can all learn from them.
If they are honest. This a channel which earns money. If they say something is bad = less views = less money. Also speak for yourself, cause im greatful of small things all the time
One of the guys looks like he's had some devastating news before he gave this review . Cheer up man .
That last joke by Tahir and Chaudhary looking like a happy child in the last shot was priceless. God bless them and their families!
I feel like when one person sends a gift, it is really meant for all of Pakistan like a communal hug from overseas.
These guys are always so well dressed !
impressed
They know people from all over the world watch their videos, they want to look their best.
I LOVE HOW THEY SAY THE DUA BEFORE EATING! They're so wholesome!! This is what muslims do everytime before eating! I'm a Muslim too so, mashallah!!
Would love to see them try a freshly made warm sticky toffee pudding. Been ages since I’ve had one myself. Craving it now.
The new guy would make a good news reader so serious ain’t cracked a smile once TBT what have u done 😬
Naaah, he couldn't contain his "serious" persona, at 6:53 he lost it 😁👌
Am I the only person who enjoyed Dr.Tahir’s dark humor
No .. I fell out my chair laughing 😂 l
As a Brit, I have never heard of custard cake but as a child, I'd eat "spotted dick" with Birds custard. Delish! Spotted Dick is a moist, warm cake for eating with custard.
That name though omg. I bet foreigners pause for a moment when they first hear it
I was just thinking if the "cake" was "spotted dick" (I believe dick is an old slang for a cake/pudding, and spotted because of the raisins). As a name it's worth keeping for the amusement it causes when talking about it (especially to Americans) 😆
Brother chaudhary is so grateful he praise the city the cake is made..❤️..beautiful people!..👊🏿🇯🇲..one love tribal crew!..
@@celticdollface so there are no city’s in England?..👀
I am not surprized they like the custard. When my father was in an Alzheimer home. The nurses said all the old guys would take their medicine if it was hidden in pudding (custard)
One of the things that comes with age and Alzheimer’s /dementia the “sweet” taste buds are pretty much the only ones left functioning, hence why they enjoy their sweets.
I love these guys and have become addicted to this channel. The honest expression of new experiences is such a joy to watch.
I wonder how they can go back to their villages and explain how their culinary and cultural horizons have been broadened.
What happened to the other guy. I forget his name off hand but miss seeing him and want him back. 😢 I like the four originals.
Very good. New guy needs to smile!!!
I'm happy to note he did after that last bite!
Custard cake 🍰 along with the good Dr. Tahir, Chaudary's smile and the other fine gentlemen make for a great weekend!!! 🥰
Another great video, especially the end with Tahir's advice😄
Carrot cake next if possible please!
You are missed Rana Nadeem💙☯️
Is rana ok?
@@chimera385 Yes I believe so! From other comments it sounds like he is just busy with life stuff.
@@jennystone421 ok good not that I don’t like the new guy
Awesome, thanks for not using a clickbait title
Thank you, kind gentlemen, for sharing your honest and enthusiastic opinions of the many dishes you’ve tasted, your joy gives me pleasure.
Historically, in most of Western/European cultures, this type of cake is made with the last of the winter supply of dried fruits and nuts, and served in celebration of the arrival of spring. It is a last chance to celebrate before beginning all of the work of getting the new crops planted.
very nice!
The King of Puddings in my realm anyway 🎭🫡🏴🇬🇧
Like the new guy. Please keep him. Would love to hear more about his pathan background
Please Bring Back RANA!!!!
Agreed!! The real gift is LOVE~
New guy doesn't talk to us, he looks at other people behind the sceens.
Good evening from Algeria and thank you Mr. Tahir for your magic smile, cordially.
These guys are precious! God bless you all abundantly ❤❤
These are such sweet wonderful men. Their reactions are genuine and I am always impressed by how willing and anxious they are to try new things.
And thanks to TPT they have experienced things that none of their village neighbors ever have.
I swear Chaudhary eyes twinkle when he eats sweets lol
Rana needed in next video 📹
Nigel, I'm in England - please send this to me also 🙏😁 looks delicious! 😁
Me too! I’m in Kansas usa
Me as well. 😂
I'm from Florida USA so I'm not sure what custard cake is, but if these lovely men enjoyed it, it must be great...thank you to the person who sent the custard cake!
For the Custard , think the filling of a Boston Cream donut or pie, not exactly, but close enough.
...presuming you've had one.
@@thebandplayedon..6145 oh yea...well then it must be really tasty!
@@thebandplayedon..6145
Probably more like Bavarian cream filling.
The British custard used for this cake is much more like a sauce than the thicker cream fillings found in donuts
I'm English and have never heard of custard cake . It looks like a sponge pudding with fruit inside served with canned custard .
Chaudhry's face tells it all 👏🏽😄💜 he's like a little boy in a candy shop... I have never had this dessert but they all make me want to try it.🙏🏽👏🏽💜🙌🏽
Who is the new man with the serious face and heavy beard?
For a FABULOUS sauce on top of cake, heres an easy great one: Jello vanilla cooked pudding, made with 2/3 the amt of required liquid, but use water not milk, etc, and put fresh grated orange peel shreds in it. FABULOUS on any cake!!
I'm sorry but the new one seems he's not very interested. Bring on again Rana's brother or Chaudhary's brother. I prefer them than this new one.
Mr. Tahir is so smart and funny! He is my favorite. I sure do miss Mr Rana! Is he coming back?
They would enjoy spice cake with caramel icing. I make the cake from a cake mix such as Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines brands. There are recipes online for the cake if you want to make it from scratch. Many of those include the recipe for caramel icing.
I thought it was going to be cake with custard filling, but YUM.
Or a pudding cake. Box pudding mixed in the cake batter.
@@daftoptmst, I don't think I've ever had that. Tell me what time I should come over to try it. ;)
@@elysehfm8797 lol! Yummy!
@@elysehfm8797 when you make, make sure you have the flavored pudding the same as cake. Yellow, White, or Vanilla cake mix Vanilla flavor pudding can be used. Chocolate cake, chocolate pudding ect.
If you're really feeling funky, Yellow, White, White cake mix with any flavor pudding you want. I find when I made lemon cake, lemon icing is too sweet to me.
@@daftoptmst, oh, I'm not going to make it, but thanks. :)
7:50 Yet MORE inspirational wisdom from Pakistan's Confucius.
💪🏻🧠💡
🤣🤣🤣 That is Tahir for sure!
I'm heartbroken that Mr. Tahir didn't offer us a taste today.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh Tahir has such a cheeky sense of humour 🤣🤣 glad they enjoyed their cake and custard
I would love to see a "behind the scenes" video. Have someone shoot video while making one of these extraordinary videos. Show everyone from a different angle.
Whose the new guy, he seems grumpy and out of place with our favorite people lol
They should try carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
Where Is our Rana NaDeem ? Welcome Mr. Umer, nice to see you also.
Hoy hoy hoy hoy hoy hoy
Yep. Its deserving of many hoys!
I drank a tin of Ambrosia yesterday. Yes, drank 😂
Yes, I can understand that completely , it's lovely stuff!
Tell us you have an eating disorder, without actually telling us you have an eating disorder. 🤣😘
@@Dillwinkle Nah just a sugar craving
umer khitab khan sorry to say but he doesn't fit in the video just sayin
The event custard and fruit cake is eaten at... drum roll pls.... school in the 1990's
Where's the tea? Surely they serve it with tea in England!
I wonder what Chaudhary would say about carrot cake.
The appreciation shown for each gift is a lesson we all can learn.
Love Umer (the new gentleman)... great addition. Imagine sher Gul with a beard like him...that would be EPIC😆😆👍🙏
Where is Rana?
The new man is a very serious person, I guess he will relax after awhile. 😊
All of them were much more serious when they first started.Look how comfortable and open they are now.The newbie will be the same.
@@warrenhfrye5218 - He is just uncomfortable, I am sure. I just started watching these guys about 6 months ago and just love them.
You can make your own custard. Look it up on the internet and give the recipe to these guys. Custard is only egg yolks, milk, sugar whisked together over a heat source and then add cornflour to thicken. Sponge pudding is easy to make too.
By their description it sounds like the cake called spotted dick, this however can't be shown on RUclips as it would de-monitose the video because if the common word of dick so they called it just cake, the sponge they used in the picture was misleading vs their description with the dried fruit and nuts
Next give them the rice pudding.
And Tapioca too... lol, I wonder if Chaudary would even try it?
"Fish eggs in cream???!!!" lol I can hear him now. ❤
Things to be added to their menu, 😬:
Smoked Salmon, grilled cheese and tomato soup, poutine, chicken fried rice, egg rolls and crab puffs, Pad Thai, hueavos rancheros, sourdough chocolate cake, deep fried mac-n-cheese balls, key lime pie, chicken wan ton tacos, ummmm, I have to go, I have to go find something to eat... 🤣😎
And lumpia... yeah lumpia
Cake & custard , yes I usually eat it as a hot dessert in winter . Hot syrupy sponge with custard is fab on a freezing cold evening.
Never heard of custard cake and I’m English. Looks like a sponge pudding with custard just poured over it. If it were cream poured over, would it become a cream cake 🤣? Or is custard cake a real thing that I’ve just never heard of?
I think it should be custard and cake. By the description of the cake it could be a "Spotty Dick" one of my favourite puddings, with custard of course.
Can only find a Filipino version that is not the same.
@@jamtalawah2231 Maybe they renamed it? A youtuber who made that said he would be demonetized if he said the name.XD.
Yeah, seems similar to spotted dick. Maybe they renamed it to cake and custard just in case they heard the dick euphemism before. That would have been funny
Isn't custard some type of vanilla sauce? Here in Sweden we call it Vanilla sauce instead 😂 we eat it with applepies and stuff like that. Blueberry pie,.
I have never had this cake. Is it like Bread pudding?
Isn’t there a cake called a poke cake? Where you bake A cake and poke holes in it and pour some type of pudding over it
Sounds like Lemon Drizzle cake.
OH NO, WHERE IS RANA???????? IS HE SICK????
Very easy to make English custard and it goes well with just about every type of cake or for that matter any fruit. All you need is
450ml milk
vanilla pod or half a tspoon of vanilla extract.
4 medium eggs
2 tbsp caster sugar
Some people use a little cornstarch and less egg.
Gently heat the milk, sugar and vanilla till it starts to boil. Take off the heat for 30 seconds or so.
Pour slowly while gently whisking into the egg yolks . Once combined gently heat again while stirring until it thickens slightly.
It's ready to pour over whatever cake or fruit etc you want.
Too bad they can't eat cake soaked in rum. Delish!
The cooking channel “what’s for tea” has lots of recipes and cooking tips Yous could replicate with the guys At their homes
Next episode should be. Let's make custard sauce. ;-) Find a good video and show them a how to.
Maybe invite their wives, because I guess they'll be the ones standing in the kitchen eventually, aren't they? ;-)
Do you have also the possibility for outside videos for BBQ or something.
I guess, if you find a quiet place where the only noise in the background is wind and birds chirping, this would be fine.
🙂
Bring them together for a cook out, some nice tea, perhaps some guests who will do the How-To in certain foods.
And of course the wives show off their best native dishes.
Have a nice evening outside with biryani, music, a bonfire, various foods from around the globe. The entire team.
What do you think about this idea?
Dude where is nadim bhai...
I actually don't think I've had Custard Cake in over 20 years as a british person, I should fix that! great video!
They seriously need to try “Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake” ! WITH frosting.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Oh yeah! Also let's try tres leches next!
