The true color of cheese is a light yellow, due to the cows eating fresh green grass. However, in months where there is no green grass, they are fed reserved hay and silage, which produces a whiter cheese. People prefer the grass-fed cheese. So what cheesemongers did was add annatto during the process for consistency of color. Annatto is ground seeds from the achiote plant that has an orange-red hue. So this would explain the orange colored cheese.
In the IHOP's in the southern states they have an item on the menu called "Colorado Omelet". It's basically a Denver omelet but they also add dried beef and top it with salsa and sour cream. Yes - I lived in Denver for 37 years AND worked at I.H.O.P. The difference between Denver and Western is Denver has cheese - Western does not. Tomatoes are an option.
There is a type of omelette burger called, "Egg McMuffin." It is egg fried in butter & topped with a slice of ham & cheddar cheese served on a toasted English muffin bun. It is very good, you should try it. 🍳😉
Cheese that has a yellow or orange color has had annatto added to it. It is a spice. Just like when people add saffron to dishes. (Yes, sometimes they use artificial coloring)
I had to Google it? I think it’s just an iHop thing or just in Colorado. It’s definitely not a Denver omelette, which is known all over USA. Loved it. Keep up the great content❤
I lived in Denver for 37 years AND worked at I.H.O.P. - the correct definition is a Denver omelette. The Denver and Western omelettes are the same thing with ham, green bell peppers and onions - - the Denver omelette adds cheese. Tomatoes are an option in either one. i made so many when I was at I.H.O.P. - I lost count ! Another little secret used by the cooks at I.H.O.P. - we would add a ladle or two of pancake batter to the broken eggs to get a nice, uniform roll on the omelette !
Hook these gents up to green chili from the southern region and… if you can. I don’t know, how. Acquire melons from the “ Rocky Ford “ region. They are literally the finest melons on the planet, nowhere else, no finer grows.

I love all the guys on TPT but every time Mr. Chaudhary takes a bite, his face looks like how i feel when i eat delicious food!
Love live love this channel!!!
Watching from Colorado! We call it a Denver omelette here :D. Ham, cheese, peppers, tomatoes, and onion. Glad to see they are enjoying a taste of my state! And yes, we have very cold weather!
Yes - I lived in Denver for 37 years AND worked at I.H.O.P. The difference between Denver and Western is Denver has cheese - Western does not. Tomatoes are an option.
@@urbanurchin5930 I didn't know that! Thanks for teaching me something :D
@@urbanurchin5930 Ding ding! You are correct!
I’ve never had a Denver Omelette. Going to try one next time I’m out to breakfast. Looked very good.
There is a type of omelette burger called, "Egg McMuffin."
It is egg fried in butter & topped with a slice of ham & cheddar cheese served on a toasted English muffin bun. It is very good, you should try it. 🍳😉
Cheese that has a yellow or orange color has had annatto added to it. It is a spice. Just like when people add saffron to dishes.
(Yes, sometimes they use artificial coloring)
Hello from Denver, Colorado, Cheeseman Park neighborhood. It is a Denver omelet. Famous everywhere but here.
I am suddenly hungry for an omelette--I have no idea why. 😁
Lived in Colorado for 40 years now. I've never had a Colorado omelet. I've never heard of one. Denver omelet, western omelet - but no Colorado omelet
At IHOP in other states it's called a Colorado omelet.
The Denver and Western omelettes are the same thing with
ham, green bell peppers and onions - - the Denver omelette adds cheese.
We do usually have buttered toast with it
Whatever you want to call it ANY omelette is dee-lish! I put breakfast sausage pieces, sharp cheddar shreds, and a dash of seasoning salt in my omelettes!
Kudos, my friend. My specialty is the scrambled omelette. Tastes delish with all the goodies but I never could fold them buggers so scrambled it is...lol
@@debbieheckman I get the eggs folded perfectly making this dish in the microwave but then I scramble the omelette so the shreds melt correctly!
It might be fun to introduce them to cheese fondue as a group. Bread, vegetables etc
That giggle gets me every time 😅😊
I come for the amazing reactions, but I stay for the medical advice I get from so many of the participants.
Too bad they can't try a dish made with our famous Pueblo green chili's! So delicious!
Or, better yet, a Hatch green chile! Lol .. . Peace!
One of the best things Coloradoans do is put Hatch chilis on everything. 🤤 LOVED the food when I visited a friend there last year. I'd go back just for that!
@@sethgaston845 For a true Colorado experience you have to use Pueblo green chiles that are grown in Pueblo, Colorado. Come back to visit in late September to the Chile & Frijole festival. People come from all over the world for it. :)
As a native Coloradoan, I'll allow it!
