I do tend to pick up my Huskys more than my Stihls because they are a little faster but mainly because of the less vibration. I've got white knuckle from many years of making a living with a chainsaw that it really makes a big difference.
Nice stuff! Always had Stihl myself. One of my buddies is an echo guy and I ran his cs590 and it was great. He just bought the 7130p so I’m eager to try that! And my other buddy just picked up a 572xp and that thing is runner to. Echo and husky definitely make a great saw. New sub here 👍🏻
Id sure like to try out a 572xp and a 7130. both of those saw's look like fantastic machines. I checked out your channel. lots of great content. I enjoy the homesteading life.
Always fun to run a new-to-you saw - great vid Rusty Mike 👍👍. Yeah Husqy make a huge leap in their anti-vibe from their 2 to 3 Series saws and their 5 series are even better yet - very smooth just like our buddy Oakie Joe. 😉😉
Look like great saws. I'm a stihl guy myself but not particularly brand loyal either. I ran Poulan for a lot of years until they went to trash. I really liked the low grumble of the echo.
Hey Stocks. I've always used Stihl. Glad I got to opportunity to run something different. they were fun. Looking forward to adding some of these tools to my stock.
I don’t have a ton of experience on the smaller echos but they seem pretty nice, and the 5 series huskys are amazing. I run all saws from all brands and eras and the new 5 series small saws are the best and fastest but for 70cc up I still love the older Stihls or 3 series huskys… nothing will beat a 064 or 390
I have only had 2 Huskys, both were smooth, low vibration 50cc saws. They love to rev. You need to let them eat at their own pace. If you're used to a torquey saw that you can dog in, they might feel wimpy. But if you let the saw set the pace and keep a sharp chain, you might like them. The two were a 50 and a 346xp, by the way. Husky makes their cranks in 3 pieces. They claim it allows it to be better balanced, I think they are right. These small, light saws are more fun to run than the big saws.
I agree with you. I tried to dog in several times and they didn't like it. If I kept the saw up in the powerband there was no need to dog in. They riped right through and where smooth
This was a fun day sir! We will have to get together again in the future. Can these pesky storms go away though? I don't know what is worse for your garden, the excess rain or a black Tacoma. See ya later man. Thanks for the video!
@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead hahaha.... I have an interesting video idea to talk with you about. The hard thing will be scheduling. Will message you about it sometime buddy.

@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead yeah those were fun times. Yeah been making them for a few years off and on really consistent since the fall. I seen you on the rock hill video and thought that sure looked like you lol. I just subscribed to you as well.
The echo will probably be the last non strato saw in the 70 to 80cc range sold in north America. Look for a 372 with a gray choke lever, compression release on side of cylinder and no x-torque mark on the recoil. For a original 372. A blue choke lever is a emissions 372 made post 2010 or so. . Or just order an original edition 372 from Brazil or china gray saw. LOL
@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead a guy from Malaysia named Paveen Raj ships for a good price new original edition 372's to the USA. He's in a lot of the Facebook groups for chainsaws and he'll even port it for you before shipping it. Highly trusted and recommended by literally 100s of people now!
@TheRustyGarageandHomestead When I got mine about 5 years back. I just ordered a 365 and swapped all parts on it I wanted. I was basically trying to recreate a limited edition 372XPW just with a 52mm piston, as the special oem only 51.4mm is no longer available worldwide. I’ve owned a few Husky’s and Stihl’s over the years and the 545 husky I have now is hands down the saw I can run for the longest period of time before feeling fatigued or numb hands
All my saws from 50-60cc run 0.325" chain, except one, a Poulan Pro PP5020AV that has 0.375" chain. It is less smooth than the others, so finer pitch chain helps.
I was always a Husky guy but I bought a Stihl MS462 last year. It is better than a Husky 572 and I really wanted to try a Stihl. I also have a ported Husky 550XP and it outcuts my 56cc 357, so I now mainly cut with a 50cc and 72cc saw. I would like to try a new 562 MKII. I think Joe has been unlucky with his MKI version and Husqvarna should send him a new one.
Hey Patrick. I love my Stihl chainsaws. The huskys felt great as well. I'm gonna add a few to my arsenal. There a great tool to utilize. Yes he has had some issues with that saw.
Hello Friend. The 462 is such a nice saw for sure. So light! The Mark ii looks to be a nice saw for sure. I keep putting time on my Mark i and am enjoying using it!
@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead I have run one. It would be hard for me to purchase a 462 over a 500i. It is a bit lighter, and I think the chassis is a bit more stout but the "neat factor" of the 500i is so appealing. So far the 500i appears to be a good saw, just a bit fragile in some ways. I certainly would be a proud 462 owner however.
I run stihl and echo really like them I have run huskys really don't like the outboard clutch and primer bulbs on them just more of a preference for me

Nice one fellas. I'm glad you enjoyed the 545.
