- A gunman who reportedly drove up alongside a parked UPS truck in Orange County and fired several rounds at the driver, killing him Thursday has been taken into custody, authorities announced. KTLA's Chris Wolfe reports on May 16, 2024.

Jas to be more to the story. I worked for UPS in their 4 the largest warehouse and a lot of unscrupulous individuals work for them. Another job, not UPS,had the driver dealing drugs to another employee that was then dealing to out of the company we worked for. These things don't just happen.
Paying taxes so lazy or for an Invader can get a check. If you keep killing off the working people that are paying taxes your checks going to go down in value

Apparently he was seeing a married women and the husband found out. Lesson learned.

As the daughter of a UPS driver, I feel for the dude's loved ones. I can't imagine waiting for my dad to get home only to be told that he was murdered. Like y'all I'm so sorry that really is terrible and traumatic.

I've been here my whole 66 years and except for Santa Ana and Anaheim, Law enforcement, backed by a great D.A in Mr. Spitzer have done a pretty good job keeping the lid on this pressure cooker. Especially in S. county.
The key is keep it expensive to keep out the dark cultures and call the sheriff when you see bad stuff.
I lived in Tustin for over 35 years an moved out of the area around 5 years ago. I occasionally go back to visit old friends and cant believe how down hill the area has gone. Trash in the streets and homeless / druggies behind bushes and at parks and just wondering the streets. Its sad, the area used to be nice
So sorry for the loss . Ups drivers go through a lot to do the job. They have a thankless job. Treat them with the respect they deserve.
They'll be alright, $40/hr driving a truck delivering small packages in air conditioning. And some of them are still republican supporters who want to betray the union.

Last monday I was shot at by a crazy psychopath whilst driving though Dallas.
Thankfully this trucker is in Texas, & was legally allowed to protect myself from getting shot to death, for no reason I can think of.

That's terrible. I always feel sympathy for the delivery drivers out there on the road. They make the world go round and they have to deliver everything each day regardless of the driving conditions.
More than likely, this was probably a three way situation. In the vast majority of cases, people don’t randomly go around shooting people for no apparent reason.
You haven't watched enough news around the countryside if you say random murders don't happen. In this case, I think the driver knew the shooter. It either involved drugs or a woman.

The reason gun laws have helped stop weapons like that in some other countries, is that if there are 'no guns allowed' (just an example).. then it's a lot easier to focus on stopping the ones that do come in... if guns are everywhere it's more difficult.

46yo Rhean Jalipa Fontanoza has been arrested and charged with the murder of Expedito Cuesta De Leon. Apparently they were life long childhood friends and coworkers. Fontanoza had been on disability leave and was scheduled to return to work June 1st but also had been stalking DeLeon. He asked other UPS drivers and accessed a on-site computer to locate where DeLeon was on his route. He drove up and shot him 14 times. He still has not said why.
